NRSC Launches New California TV Ad, “Nothing Will Change” -- Boxer Fails to Report House on Ethics Report

"Nothing Will Change" is probably the understatement of the year.  Barbara 'Call me Senator' Boxer is one of the more dense along with being arrogant Senators we have.  Cannot believe the people of California kept sending her back to DC.  Makes one wonder how many illegal votes have been cast over the years when Obama can go in the state and encourage Latinos to punish the enemies of immigration reform.  How many illegals have voted in California?  We already know in Los Angeles, they will move polling places right before the election so legitimate voters have a hard time finding them.

We are hoping the next Governor of California will be Meg Whitman and a priority will be to clean up the voting lists in the precincts in California especially in the large cities where voter fraud is rampant.  Wonder how much more of a percentage of voters has to turn out in California to counter the voter fraud?  The United States sends representatives overseas to monitor elections when we have massive election fraud in our own Country which the DOJ turns a blind eye.  Now the Holder DOJ also has turned a blind eye to voter intimidation by the new Black Panthers which you would see in a 3rd World Country.

Californians now have a chance to make a difference by retiring Barbara Boxer and her lack of ethics and electing Carly Fiorina to be their next Senator who will work for Californians not Obama/Reid.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) announced its first independent expenditure television advertisement in California today, entitled "Nothing Will Change," highlighting millionaire U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer’s (D-CA) failed record in Washington supporting higher taxes and job crushing policies in Washington.




NRSC Press Secretary Amber Marchand issued the following statement:

"Millionaire Senator Barbara Boxer has spent her entire career looking out for the best interests of one person: herself. Boxer’s partisan, ineffective work in Washington fighting for higher taxes and job killing policies haven’t helped the families, seniors, and job creators in California who are facing more than 12 percent unemployment today."

The Los Angeles Times’ Maeve Reston reports:

Though the criticism of Boxer's effectiveness and the charge that she's been in office too long mirrors the core message of Republican challenger Carly Fiorina's campaign, the NRSC's new spot seeks to get the attention of women with a female narrator and images of seven women looking solemnly in the camera... The NRSC ad is part of its $7.8-million investment in the race, the first $4.8 million of which was directed toward a series of ads in concert with the Fiorina campaign.

Today we also learn that Barbara Boxer who heads the Senate Ethics Committee has failed to disclose real property valued at over $1M she owns on her ethics report from 2002 - 2010. As head of Ethics, leaving off this house would bring into question WHY? She knows better but did it anyway.

After reading this and other items showing lack of ethics and transparency of candidates, the Senate needs new Ethics Rules. Anyone with a complaint against them should not be Chairing or even be on the Ethics Committee. Think it is time for full disclosure of anyone running for office including incumbents. Also the idea that someone can 'loan' their campaign money needs looked at as well because it puts millionaire's running for office on a different playing field.

It is past time to replace one of the more annoying Senators Barbara Boxer and her liberal agenda with a Senator who will listen to the people, Carley Fiorina.

BREAKING: Ethics Foundation Requests A.G. Holder Investigate Sen. BoxerOctober 26, 2010 - by Roger L Simon

In a breaking development that may affect the close California Senate race, Pajamas Media has learned The Foundation for Ethics in Public Service sent a letter to Eric Holder last Thursday requesting the attorney general “begin an investigation to determine whether United States Senator Barbara Boxer violated any criminal laws or should be liable for any civil penalty for failure to disclose real property on her Personal Financial Disclosure Reports between 2002 and 2010.”

The Foundation for Ethics in Public Service is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization “that seeks to bring a new level of transparency, accountability and integrity to all levels of government in the United States.” Boxer is the chair of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics.

The specific property FEPS is referring to is an Oakland, California, home valued at over a million dollars and co-owned by Boxer, her husband Stewart, their son Douglas, and his wife Amy. The letter to Holder reads in part:

Despite the fact that Senator Boxer had an ownership in 854 Longridge Road [in Oakland], she failed to report this substantial real property asset on any of her personal financial disclosures between 2002 and 2010. She had also failed to report the mortgage on the property. Further, she failed to report the purchase of 854 Longridge Road in 2002. Each year Boxer was required to have filed a “full and complete report.”

The filing of false or incomplete disclosure statements is in violation of the Ethics in Government Act. The Act authorizes the Attorney General of the United States to seek civil penalties against Senators who knowingly and willfully falsify or fail to report required information. The knowing and willful concealment of the existence of substantial amount of real property for a prolonged period may subject Senators to federal criminal prosecution under 18 U.S.C. paragraph 101. The Oakland home is currently lived in by Douglas and his wife. This is not the first time Senator Boxer’s son has been the center of controversy. The senator reportedly paid out nearly $500,000 from her campaign contributions to her son’s public relations firm between 2001 and 2009. Those moneys could have been used to pay off the mortgage on the Oakland property, adding urgency to the DOJ investigation sought by The Foundation for Ethics in Public Service and further complicating the legal and ethical issues involved.

‘Call Me Madam’: Let This Video Be My Apology for Once Supporting Sen. Boxer

This election has it all, but this may top it for any video or article we have read.  This is the last thing I expected to find when logging on this morning -- a Hollywood producer apologizing for supporting Sen Boxer in the past elections.  We first saw the video at The Washington Examiner and then followed the link to get the full story which we have posted here.  Amazing, shocking, unfathonable all are words that come to mind. 

Boxer in her arrogance forgot a very important word -- RESPECT!  You earn the respect of people not demand it as she did to the General.  Boxer is not someone we would want to respresent us in the Senate -- we have to believe the people of California feel like David Zucker with his apology for supporting her:

I was motivated to do something on this after I saw the video of Barbara Boxer interrogating the General.

I remember immediately feeling embarrassed that a member of Congress would treat an officer of the U.S. military like that. And doubly embarrassed that back in the early 90’s I had contributed to Barbara Boxer’s campaign. I was so outraged at the pure arrogance of that moment, that I sat down to write the spot, highlighting the pure absurdity of our California Senator dressing down a General for calling her “Ma’am.” No Naked Gun or Scary Movie ever had an opportunity as good as that one for pure ridicule. Never mind that the military are instructed to call their superiors including members of congress ‘Sir’ or ‘Ma’am’, including specifically, Members of Congress!

I thought an apology would have been appropriate, but to my knowledge, none has ever been made by Senator Boxer. This I find distressing, since apologies from public figures nowadays are the norm. I mean, it’s not as if she texted her junk to Brett Favre. This was just arrogantly insulting an army officer. But I guess that’s okay with her.

In the debate with Carly Fiorina, the subject was brought up, but Boxer was quite adept at deflecting it — and still without an apology. Let this video be my apology. Every time I see the public record listing my campaign contribution to Boxer — I wince. I mean, we all have things we’ve done in the past that we’re embarrassed about, but I’d rather have my being restricted to 100 yards away from elementary schools be public knowledge than that $5,000 Boxer campaign contribution.

California Senate race a dead heat in GOP poll

Reading this article made me think if I was a betting person that I would be putting my money on Fiorina right now. First of all, would take a Tarrance group poll over Public Policy every time. Public Policy polls over time have tended to favor Democrats in races by oversampling Democrats and Independents in certain zip codes.

Speaking of oversampling, we we were trying to figure out why some polls were tightening when you don't see it on the ground. The proof is in the numbers as was pointed out in PA, the number of Democrats stayed the same and they decreased the number of Republicans polled. You want a close race, that will do it.

If someone is looking at one excellent source for polling it would be the Tarrance Group because they do a lot of internal polling and those polls have to be accurate. Other polling companies tighten races and throw them into toss-up a couple of weeks before the election and then give better numbers right before election day. It has happened too many years not to see a trend.

It is bad when an incumbent cannot reach 50% especially one who has been there forever. Boxer is in real trouble in this race this year.  She would have been before if there had been a good opponent. Boxer is extremely arrogant and not sure knows Southern California even exists except for fundraisers in the Hollywood community. Boxer and Murray are not the brightest bulbs in the pack during committee hearings with some of their questions. Barbara, call me Senator, Boxer sitting on Armed Services makes us cringe.

The key in California is turnout which means Republicans have to turn out in the huge numbers they did in the primary and increase them along with pulling in independents and those disgruntled Democrats who have wanted Boxer gone for years.

After November 2nd, CA GOP needs reorganized and put people in party offices who know how to run elections. Arnold will be gone so it is time to rebuild the Republican Party into the viable party it used to be in California. A lot of activists have been waiting for Arnold to retire as his last few years have been a huge disappointment as he has gone farther left in a lot of areas. Now will be the time for the grassroots to get Republicans on the right track.

Having Fiorina as the US Senator and Meg Whitman as the Governor will go a long way in making the Republicans viable in California once again.

In case you missed it, the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza previewed an NRSC internal poll this morning showing the California Senate race is a dead heat just 12 days from Election Day. As Cillizza notes, "Boxer and former Hewlett Packard executive Carly Fiorina (R) are knotted at 44 percent in a Tarrance Group poll conducted for the National Republican Senatorial Committee by Dave Sackett between Oct. 17 and 19."

For months, Senate Republicans have insisted that Sen. Barbara Boxer (D) can be beaten. Now, they have a poll that shows the race as a dead heat.

Boxer and former Hewlett Packard executive Carly Fiorina (R) are knotted at 44 percent in a Tarrance Group poll conducted for the National Republican Senatorial Committee by Dave Sackett between Oct. 17 and 19.

Among independents and those voters who decline to state a party preference -- a major target for both candidates --- Fiorina leads 47 percent to 34 percent. "[Fiorina] needs to improve upon this and get her ballot strength among ticket-splitters up into the mid 50's," writes Sackett in the polling memo, a copy of which was obtained by the Fix.

The NRSC poll is slightly more optimistic for Fiorina than a Public Policy Institute of California survey released Wednesday that shows Boxer leading 43 percent to 38 percent. The PPIC survey also shows the race for independents tighter; Fiorina takes 37 percent, Boxer takes 36 percent and 18 percent are undecided.

A look at the Real Clear Politics polling average in the race, however, suggests that California is a genuine tossup as Boxer holds a narrow one-point edge.

Republicans, buoyed by their new numbers, insist that despite the state's clear Democratic lean -- the last Republican to win a Senate race in the Golden State was Pete Wilson back in 1988 -- they are in the game thanks to Boxer's lingering unpopularity and a national breeze blowing in their direction.

One Democratic strategist who has worked in California politics expressed a level of pessimism about the race. "I gotta think that even in CA, a liberal career politician is a tough place to be in a change year," said the source who was granted anonymity to give a candid assessment of the race.

Publicly, Democrats express considerable confidence, noting that while the race has tightened somewhat -- thanks to considerable spending by Fiorina -- Boxer enters the final days of the campaign with a three-to-one cash-on-hand edge. Barring Fiorina writing a huge check, they argue, it will be impossible to match Boxer's spending over the final 12 days.

California -- due to its sheer size -- always draws the eyes of the nation to it. Political junkies would do well to keep their gaze glued to the state's Senate race over the final 12 days of the 2010 campaign.

New Polls Shows Fiorina and Boxer in a Dead Heat

It would be great on November 2nd to send Barbara Boxer to the Unemployment Line. She has been too liberal for California for years -- actually since she was first elected. California which is one of our most beautiful states needs to be represented by someone with 'Common Sense' which leaves out Boxer. Fiorina has the business background and great ideas to take to the Senate on how to grow our economy.  Fiorina is 180 degrees opposite of Boxer who believes the way to grow the economy is by taxing and spending. Barbara 'Call me Senator' Boxer never met a tax she doesn't like.

Hard to fathom Boxer involved with our military when she shows nothing but disdain for them. For anyone keeping track, the California military bases have closed right and left with the two Democrat Senators Boxer and Feinstein representing California. Many business' in California have closed up shop there and headed to Middle America where there is a better business climate.

We have to believe with the race being in a Dead Heat that Fiorina is going to be gaining in the next two weeks and Boxer is going to go very negative as we have been seeing across the Country.

In California, a new Reuters/Ipsos survey shows businesswoman Carly Fiorina in a dead heat with millionaire Senator Barbara Boxer:

Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer's lead over Republican Carly Fiorina among likely voters in California is only one point, 46 percent to 45 percent, down from a four-point advantage early this month. Boxer is a key ally of President Barack Obama, who is to campaign for her and other Democrats next week in California. Fiorina is a former CEO of Hewlett-Packard.

While the Mercury News notes that Boxer’s deflated liberal base “struggling to find a reason” to show up on Election Day:

Anything can happen this election, but the youthful tidal wave that helped sweep Obama into the White House in 2008 may have dried up… there's no question -- many Democrats are struggling to find a reason to vote. "What I'm noticing is that we don't have a candidate on the top of the ticket that's generating a lot of excitement in the electorate," said Mark Baldassare, president of the Public Policy Institute of California. "And we don't have a ballot measure attracting the excitement Proposition 8 did last time around, so turnout will be significantly less that we had in the presidential election."

And Boxer’s extreme agenda is likely to turn off the state’s many independent “swing” voters. Reuters reports:

Three-term Senator Barbara Boxer is "too extreme for California," said Carly Fiorina, the wealthy businesswoman challenging the Democratic incumbent in one of the most liberal U.S. states. "She is an extreme liberal, she is hyper-partisan," Fiorina said Sunday of Boxer, an ally of U.S. President Barack Obama, who is to campaign for her and other Democrats this week in California. Fiorina is a former CEO of Hewlett-Packard. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday showed Boxer leading Fiorina by only 1 point, 46 percent to 45 percent, down from a 4-point advantage early this month. Fiorina told "Fox News Sunday" that swing voters in the California, the most populous U.S. state, would turn the race her way before November 2 midterm elections, in which 37 of 100 Senate seats and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives are up for grabs. "Remember that California has about 25 percent of its electorate that's considered swing voters," said Fiorina, referring to independents who vote across party lines. "These are the people ... that are going to make the difference in this election."

Liberal S.F. Chronicle refuses to endorse Barbara Boxer

When we first heard this, we had to go see for ourselves as the idea of the SF Chronicle not endorsing Boxer never entered our mind. They might as well have gone all in and endorsed her opponent Carley Fiorina with this editorial. The Chronicle editorial writers said exactly what we have always thought of Boxer -- what has she really done? She couldn't even handle the climate change bill as everything she touches becomes polarizing and John Kerry had to step into the fight which they are still losing. Boxer won't even ride in the same elevator with Oklahoma's Jim Inhofe.

Since people like Boxer were elected to the Senate, the days of Senators fighting like cats and dogs on the floor and having dinner together have gone out the door. The David Boren's and Sam Nunn's have been replaced by arrogance in the form of Senators like Boxer and Hillary when she was still in the Senate which has been bad for America.

If someone needs a good reason to vote for Fiorina, this editorial is it. If I was advising the Fiorina campaign, I would tell them to use this editorial for a great TV ad. When the Chronicle won't endorse Boxer, then the voters should defeat her for the very same reasons.

California needs to send a Senator like Carley Fiorina to DC who will represent California not her own special interest like Boxer. Arrogance personifies Boxer like the video shows:




We were appalled the day she told the General to call her Senator not ma'am and are still appalled at the arrogance of Boxer that day. That seemed to be the most important part of her questioning that she be called Senator and said a lot about Boxer as a person -- spoiled! Boxer may vote liberal but she does not represent the best interests of California or America.

You’re not alone if you didn’t see this one coming. From their editorial, posted yesterday:

It is extremely rare that this editorial page would offer no recommendation on any race, particularly one of this importance. This is one necessary exception.

Boxer, first elected in 1992, would not rate on anyone’s list of most influential senators. Her most famous moments on Capitol Hill have not been ones of legislative accomplishment, but of delivering partisan shots. Although she is chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee, it is telling that leadership on the most pressing issue before it – climate change – was shifted to Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., because the bill had become so polarized under her wing.

For some Californians, Boxer’s reliably liberal voting record may be reason enough to give her another six years in office. But we believe Californians deserve more than a usually correct vote on issues they care about. They deserve a senator who is accessible, effective and willing and able to reach across party lines to achieve progress on the great issues of our times. Boxer falls short on those counts.

Carnahan Drops Prices for Obama Event

Having been involved in Republican fundraisers in the past, Carnahan is in trouble when she has to drop tickets from $250 to $99 and cut the $35 tickets in half and it is made public. She must be desperate for money because that is not the way to fill the room announcing price cuts to see Obama. Question we would have is if Obama is somehow splitting the money. Democrats used to bus in people for events but not this time? Amazing!

Most fundraisers when the event gets close and you have not sold out get people on the phone asking young people to the event and everyone they know. Forgot the Democrats are not very active on my campus today. Guess they would have to get the SEIU there or are they already attending for free and no one left to bring for free?

This is not a good sign for Democrats at all -- Obama's star is fading fast and now more than 55% of Americans consider the word 'socialist' a good term to describe him not in a Republican poll but in a James Carville poll. Over 50% of people polling in a Democrat poll willing to say Obama is a socialist is huge.

Carnahan Drops Prices For Obama Event

Pres. Obama is the best fundraiser the Dem Party has, but his drawing power is way down from its peak during the '08 campaign.

Obama is heading to MO and NV today to raise money for Sec/State Robin Carnahan (D), running for an open Senate seat, and Senate Maj. Leader Harry Reid.

But Carnahan's campaign wasn't able to completely sell out the Folly Theater, where Obama will appear for a grassroots event on Carnahan's behalf, at the prices they wanted. Tickets once priced at $250 are now going for $99, while $35 tickets are half off.

The grassroots event at the 1,078-seat theater is expected to net $250K for Carnahan's campaign, the Kansas City Star reported today.

It's just one of Obama's 2 stops for Carnahan; he will appear at a higher-dollar affair at a Marriott hotel in downtown Kansas City -- ironically, the same location where the RNC will host its summer meeting in Aug. But it's telling Obama couldn't fill a theater at the higher price; in '08, just 2 weeks before Election Day, Obama drew 100K to an event in St. Louis and another 75K to a rally in Kansas City, according to a contemporary account from McClatchy.

Obama has 4 total fundraising events scheduled today, 2 in MO and 2 in NV. VP Joe Biden is also hitting the trail, raising money for Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-OR), a freshman Dem facing a tough re-election bid, in a luncheon event in Portland. Later, Biden travels to the Bay Area for a fundraiser with Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA).

INHOFE requests hearings on 'CLIMATEGATE'

Today Sen Inhofe called on the Chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee, Barbara Boxer, liberal Democrat from California to start an investigation into Climategate, but unless times have changed, we do not expect Sen Boxer to comply with the Senator's request for hearings.

The White House refuses to acknowledge that there is anything wrong with the data and methodology used to confirm Global Warming and is pressing ahead to Copenhagen according to the Obama Press Secretary Gates even though a large part of the American people are now calling it 'junk science.'

Maybe what Boxer should do is take a hard look at the facts and ask herself which side she wants to be -- side of Obama who sees nothing wrong or the side of the American people who want answers concerning this fraud perpetrated by some scientists to prove Global Warming is real including using bogus figures to get the desired result.

We will be watching closely for her answer to Senator Inhofe's letter. Her answer could have an adverse effect on her race for re-election as Senator. Time to return Sen Jim Inhofe to head of this Committee in January 2011 and bring back Oklahoma Common Sense to the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, sent a letter today to EPW Committee Chairman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) requesting hearings on the recent disclosure of emails between some of the world's most preeminent climatologists-emails that reveal apparent attempts to manipulate data, vilify scientists with opposing viewpoints, and circumvent information disclosure laws.

"The emails reveal possible deceitful manipulation of important data and research used by the US Global Change Research Program and the IPCC," Inhofe wrote. "For instance, one scientist wrote of a ‘trick' he employed to ‘hide the decline' in global temperature trends, as well as discussed attempts to ‘redefine what the peer-review literature is' to prevent papers raising questions about anthropogenic global warming from appearing in IPCC reports."

This controversy "could have far-reaching policy implications," Inhofe continued, "affecting everything from (to name a few) cap-and-trade legislation, state and regional climate change programs," and "the Environmental Protection Agency's ‘Proposed Endangerment and Cause or Contribute Findings for Greenhouse Gases Under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act'..." These policies "will have enormous economic impacts, not least the EPA's proposed endangerment finding, which, when finalized, will lead to a torrent of new federal regulations that will destroy thousands of jobs and make electricity and gasoline more expensive for consumers and small businesses."

Dear Chairman Boxer:

The recent disclosure of emails between several prominent climatologists-including the authors of temperature records used by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)-raises a number of issues, including the following: 1) potential violations of federal and state information disclosure laws; 2) a possible conspiracy by scientists, some of whom receive or have received US taxpayer funds, to stifle open, transparent debate on the most pressing issues of climate science; 3) an apparent coordinated effort to distort and falsify data; and 4) the appearance of a campaign to vilify scientists who question global warming alarmism.
The emails reveal apparent deceitful manipulation of important data and research used by, among others, the US Global Change Research Program and the IPCC. For instance, one scientist wrote of a "trick" he employed to "hide the decline" in global temperature trends; he also discussed attempts to "redefine what the peer-review literature is" to prevent papers questioning global warming alarmism from appearing in IPCC reports. Another scientist stated, "The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming and it is a travesty that we can't." Still another wrote, "I tried hard to balance the needs of the science and the IPCC, which were not always the same."

In addition to these issues, the emails could have far-reaching policy implications, affecting everything from (to name a few) cap-and-trade legislation, state and regional climate change programs, the Environmental Protection Agency's "Proposed Endangerment and Cause or Contribute Findings for Greenhouse Gases Under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act," the US Global Change Research Program, global climate models used by federal agencies, the Department of Interior's coordinated strategy to address climate change impacts, and international climate change negotiations.
Many of these policies and positions will have enormous economic impacts, not least the EPA's proposed endangerment finding, which, when finalized, will lead to a torrent of new federal regulations that will destroy thousands of jobs and make electricity and gasoline more expensive for consumers and small businesses. The same can be said for cap-and-trade legislation, including the very bill you introduced and reported to the full Senate, as well as the Waxman-Markey bill passed by the House in June.

In short, the stakes involved are of major consequence, and so I respectfully request that you hold hearings to examine the suite of issues involved, including whether laws were broken, key studies compromised, proposed regulations undermined, and taxpayer-funded climate change research deliberately obscured or manipulated. I am encouraged that the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming will examine at least some of these issues in a hearing tomorrow. Senator Inhofe on Boxer breaking Senate Rules on Cap and Trade

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) who has been fighting Cap and Trade in different versions for years was on Fox about Boxer violating Committee Rules. As many have said this bill should be called Cap and Tax not Cap and Trade as our energy taxes would rise dramatically if this bill is passed. So much for the Democrat Progressive Mantra that they are for 'the people' when this travesty of a bill that taxes everyone who uses energy is now on the Senate floor due to breaking Senate Rules.

We are not opposed to conservation of our natural resources but we are opposed to politicizing something based on flawed methodology that is used to push the Gore claims that will in the end tax every last American citizen who uses energy.

The President continues to fly AF One at the drop of a hat while wanting all of us to pay higher taxes for energy. Maybe he could help his cause if he grounded himself from flying around the world on AF One like his latest fiasco to Copenhagen for the Olympic bid of Chicago.

Washington, D.C.-Sen. James M. Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, issued the following statement in response to Chairman Boxer's violation of committee rules by reporting out S. 1733, the Kerry-Boxer bill:

"I am deeply disappointed by Chairman Boxer's decision to violate the rules and longstanding precedent of the committee. The Republicans offered a clear path forward to a bipartisan markup, but it was summarily rejected by Chairman Boxer. Instead, she decided to ignore the entreaties of all 6 ranking members from Senate committees with some share of jurisdiction over climate change legislation, as well as leading moderates in the Senate. Her action signals the death knell for the Kerry Boxer bill.

"As was written recently, the Kerry-Boxer bill is ‘bad policy' that ‘resembles the failed climate proposals of the past.' It is time for a different approach, one that grows, rather than shrinks our economy, creates, rather than destroys jobs, and strengthens, rather than weakens our energy security. We can do this by encouraging development of all of America's vast energy resources."

Reid gives Boxer green light for 'nuclear option'

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has given the chairwoman of the Environment and Public Works Committee the go-ahead to advance global warming legislation by Tuesday if Republicans have not ended their boycott by then, according to three sources close to the process.

Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) originally wanted to push forward tomorrow with debate and votes on amendments to the 959-page climate bill.

But the sources say Reid urged Boxer to wait until Tuesday, Nov. 10. The markup was originally scheduled to begin yesterday, but the committee's GOP members are boycotting in an effort to force U.S. EPA to further study the climate proposal.

"Makes them look like the 'party of no,'" one source said. "Makes them look frivolous."

UPDATE: This article from Reuters gives the update on what happened in the Boxer Senate Committee. We have learned from this article that we have one honest Democrat Senator Max Baucus who voted against moving this to the floor. It is time for every voter to be calling their Senators and demanding that this bill be sent back to Committee off the floor of the Senate and Boxer follow the Rules.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on Thursday approved a Democratic climate change bill that would require industry to cut emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases 20 percent by 2020 from 2005 levels.

With Republicans boycotting the committee's work saying more analysis of the legislation was needed, 10 Democrats voted to approve the legislation and one Democrat, Senator Max Baucus, voted against it.

The bill will now become one of several initiatives aimed at attacking global warming. Senator John Kerry is leading an effort with some Republicans and the White House to craft a compromise bill, which likely would not be voted on by the full Senate until next year at the earliest.

Liberal Democrats in the Senate did not learn one thing from the elections on Tuesday as the Rules still do not apply to them. How much money is Boxer getting paid to ram this bill out of Committee breaking the Rules of the Senate? We have thought for some time that Democrats did not want to follow any Rules when it comes to their Agenda including the Constitution if it puts up roadblocks -- today we have living proof. Is this the United States Senate or a 3rd World Government? Hard to tell the difference after this morning.

Time for Republicans and Independents to get serious about ousting Boxer from the Senate in 2010.

The arrogance of some Senate Democrats matches that of Obama and his staff. Americans may have voted for change in Nov 2008 but they didn't vote for breaking Rules when they elected these arrogant people. The arrogance of the Democrats has grown in the Senate since they took over in 2006 and is getting worse as the most liberal members in the Senate want to take this Country to the far left following the lead of Obama and his Administration while the majority of Americans are center right.

Voters also didn't vote for having their daily lives micro-managed by the Federal Government and paying higher taxes which are rapidly approaching. So much for Obama we are only going to tax the wealthy -- looks like if this bill passes after the Democrats break more rules, it will affect everyone.

Guess you could say that the agreement that Senators Lindsey Graham, Joe Liberman, and John Kerry brokered is DOA. We will post the reaction from Senator Inhofe as soon as we receive his answer to this travesty.
