Will This Administration Exploit the Crisis in the Gulf to Advance Their Disastrous Energy Policies?

We believe the answer to that is a resounding "YES" as we don't have a doubt that from day one Obama planned to exploit the BP Gulf Oil Disaster to pass Cap and Trade which BP wrote. Obama and his Administration could care less if the American people are for or against Cap and Trade just like they didn't care with Healthcare. Zero thought is given by Obama, Reid, or Pelosi to what the American people have to say as they forge ahead with the Obama soclalist plan for America.

On November 2nd the American people will have a chance to tell Obama, Reid, and Pelosi what they think of their progressive march toward socialism and their continual ignoring of the wishes of the vast majority of American people. It is up to 'We the People' to send a loud and clear message to Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi that their 'dictator reign' is over and we are taking back America one step at a time from their progressive march toward socialism.

Pence: "The American People Don't Want This Administration to Exploit the Crisis in the Gulf to Advance Their Disastrous Energy Policies"

“We won’t cap that well with cap and trade.”

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, and the American Energy Solutions Group, made the following remarks today during a House Republican Leadership press conference:

"I was home in Indiana yesterday and people are concerned about jobs, they are concerned about spending and they are deeply concerned about the crisis in the Gulf. The widening environmental crisis in the Gulf is a tragedy. British Petroleum must be held accountable for every dime of impact on our environment, on the families, and on the communities of the region. This administration must also be held accountable.

"What is clear across the political spectrum is that this administration was slow to respond to this widening environmental disaster and must be held to account. The American people expect the president to work the problem, not work the media. They expect the president to provide the kind of direct and energetic leadership that the laws adopted after the Exxon-Valdez tragedy contemplate.

"That is BP's well and it is BP's responsibility to cap it. It is BP's financial responsibility for the cleanup and the consequences. But that is our coastline and the American people expect the President of the United States and this administration to energetically lead the effort and marshal all resources across the country and across the world to mitigate the impact on our environment and on the families and the communities in the region.

"Also, the American people expect that this administration will not use this opportunity to advance their liberal agenda. Our nation wants this president to work the problem not work his liberal agenda on energy. Rahm Emanuel said famously about a year ago that you ‘never want a serious crisis to go to waste.'

"And now we hear word that the president is preparing this evening, in the midst of this widening crisis, to use his address to the American people to advance his disastrous national energy tax known as the cap and trade. The American people don't want this administration to exploit the crisis in the Gulf to advance their disastrous energy policies. We won't cap that well with cap and trade. We won't help the families in the region or across this country by raising the cost of energy on every American in the worst economy in 25 years.

"We need a new energy policy. House Republicans have offered the American Energy Act. It's an all of the above approach that says yes to environmentally responsible domestic exploration for oil and natural gas. It says yes to alternative energy sources like wind and solar and nuclear. And says yes to conservation.
"But right now, the American people want this administration to focus on putting first things first. To make a priority of capping the well and restraining the flow of that oil to the coastline and leave debates over their liberal policy to the future."

Sen Coburn: A Closer Look at the President's offshore drilling plans

Most of us have heard over the years "the devil is in the details" and the announcement by Obama to approve offshore drilling off the coast of Virginia is no different. As facts begin to emerge, you realize that once again Obama was just talk to curry favor with Republicans to get their votes for Cap and Trade. Without Republican Lindsey Graham in the Senate, the whole Cap and Trade would be silent for the rest of the year.

In this morning's email, Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) describes the "facts" of the President's proposal for offshore drilling. The offshore drilling Obama touted will NEVER happen on his (Obama's) watch. Obama may be the most dishonest President ever to give a big announcement knowing full well he has no intention of offshore drilling to start on his watch and neglects to mention that. We are glad that Republicans in Congress are not buying into Obamaspeak.

This President has chosen the path to keep us dependent on foreign oil from countries who can send us into an oil crises at any time they want by decreasing oil production. The two top exporting countries of oil to the United States are Canada and Mexico who are solid suppliers of crude oil. After that, the counties who provide foreign oil to the US could adversely impact the US if they decide to cut production: Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Iraq, Algeria, Colombia, Brazil, Angola, Ecuador, Russia, United Kingdom, Kuwait, Gabon. Which one of the other 13 countries with the exception of the United Kingdome, do you want to depend on for the future of oil imports?

With such an abundance of our own energy resources, why do Democrats want us to remain dependent on foreign oil? Why have Democrats backed the EPA's rules for building new refineries to make it cost prohibitive or to even modernize in some cases? Bottom line is why do Democrats continue to block our domestic energy production?

I read with great interest President Obama’s recent announcement that he was planning to expand offshore drilling. These resources are plentiful and can play a key role in securing our energy needs.

Unfortunately, it did not take long to realize that his plan offered very little hope for American energy security. This is an excerpt from the Administration’s own fact sheet supporting the announcement:

“Question: Does the Administration’s announcement regarding the current 5-year program mean that the area off Virginia in the Mid-Atlantic OCS planning area will be opened for oil and gas development?

Not necessarily. Offering the sale off of Virginia is only the first step in an orderly process that includes environmental reviews and analyses, regulatory compliance, exploration, testing and other considerations. The announcement does not guarantee that that area will be leased, evaluated, explored and developed for oil and gas.

Question: Does the Administration’s announcement for the new 5-year program (2012 -2017) mean the Mid Atlantic, South Atlantic, and Eastern Gulf of Mexico OCS planning areas will be open to oil and gas development in the next 5-year program?

Not necessarily. Scoping in an area or inclusion in an Environmental Impact Statement does not mean that an area will ultimately be made available for leasing. However, an area must be analyzed in the EIS in order to be considered for leasing. Decisions as to whether to schedule lease sales in these areas, and if so, whether to remove from leasing consideration those parts of the planning areas with conflicting uses (e.g., military training requirements; shipping lands) or particular sensitivity, will come later in the process of developing the new 5-year program and the pre-sale process.

”And what is the most important detail of all? Much of the plan cannot even go into place until 2022 at the earliest because of a drilling moratorium in the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

In other words, nothing really changes. Rather than offering false hope, as this plan does, Congress and the President should be straightforward with the American people.

The truth is that we are energy dependent by choice. We are blessed with vast sources of traditional and renewable resources that can be accessed safely and responsibly. Yet, by law and by regulation, we have marginalized both at great cost to our nation. The 2009 trade deficit of $517 billion included $204 billion in petroleum imports.

Congress should end its moratorium in the eastern Gulf now, allowing energy producers to apply for leases through the normal process. It should end non-sense regulations that are designed expressly to frustrate and prevent exploration. And it should stop placing barriers in the way of renewable energy development on the more than 650 millions acres of federally owned land.

JUST THE FACTS The United States has the largest reserve of recoverable fossil fuels (oil, natural gas, and coal) in the world.

Natural Gas: Total potential natural gas supplies are estimated at 1,836 trillion cubic feet (TCF), up 39 percent in just three years.

Oil: Proved oil reserves stand at 21 billion barrels, and estimated technically recoverable oil reserves include 146 billion barrels. Oil shale formations in the western United States, which have historically been too costly to develop, contain over 1 trillion barrels of oil.

Coal: The United States has the largest coal reserves in the world, accounting for 28 percent of the total world deposits.

We are also blessed with substantial renewable energy sources. Of the more than 650 million acres owned by the federal government, 140 million acres are classified as having significant geothermal energy potential, over 29 million acres of federal land have significant solar energy potential, and there are 21 million acres with documented wind energy potential.

On April 8, 2010, the January 2010 Import Highlights were released for Crude Oil and Total Petroleum Imports Top 15 Countries

Monthly data on the origins of crude oil imports in January 2010 has been released and it shows that two countries exported more than 1.00 million barrels per day to the United States (see table below). The top five exporting countries accounted for 67 percent of United States crude oil imports in January while the top ten sources accounted for approximately 90 percent of all U.S. crude oil imports. The top five sources of US crude oil imports for January were Canada (1.882 million barrels per day), Mexico (1.033 million barrels per day), Nigeria (0.996 million barrels per day), Saudi Arabia (0.958 million barrels per day), and Venezuela (0.827 million barrels per day). The rest of the top ten sources, in order, were Iraq (0.506 million barrels per day), Algeria (0.327) million barrels per day), Colombia (0.293 million barrels per day), Brazil (0.271 million barrels per day), and Angola (0.268 million barrels per day). Total crude oil imports averaged 8.454 million barrels per day in January, which is an increase of 0.321 million barrels per day from December 2009.

Canada remained the largest exporter of total petroleum in January, exporting 2.593 million barrels per day to the United States, which is a decrease from last month (2.649 thousand barrels per day). The second largest exporter of total petroleum was Mexico with 1.131 million barrels per day.

EPA Stifles New Energy Gains; $2 B to Brazil for Off Shore Drilling; Obama Surrenders Gulf Oil to Russia

These are just a few of the headlines as Obama has set course for the United States to remain dependent on foreign resources for our energy. The headlines don't include the recent ruling on Feb 11, 2010, by Interior Secretary of the Interior Salazar that put expanded offshore drilling on hold. Why is Obama surrendering the United States ability to explore and drill for new resources while Russia is going to be drilling offshore 40 miles from Florida, and he sent $2 billion to Brazil for offshore drilling?

Obama and his Administration are systematically tanking the domestic oil and gas producers and costing jobs throughout the Country. With cutting off the ability to explore for new resources, he is going to cause some smaller companies that depend on oil and gas production to go out of business.

Obama is passing up on creating jobs for US citizens in favor of the jobs and oil going to foreign countries. Why? The price we pay at the pump or what we use to cook and heat will eventually rise as Obama shuts off the ability of domestic oil and gas producers to explore and develop new resources.

Does Obama plan to Nationalize Oil and Gas next like he is trying to do with Healthcare? Is his ultimate goal to have the Government control all the oil and gas production in the United States?
Today we take look at what he has done with domestic oil and gas production in the United States and it sends chills up your spine. Obama is not creating jobs he is costing jobs in the United States to further send our economy down. EPA is now one of the most powerful cabinet positions in the Government as it sets out to tank our oil and gas industry now. Is Jackson following Obama orders? We believe she is along with Salazar.

Obama's EPA stifles new energy gains

It would be simpler if President Obama leveled with energy industry officials and the American people and admitted he's doing everything in his power to suffocate this country's ability to find and develop critically needed new energy supplies. But instead of being honest about it, Obama hides behind misleading rhetoric about the wonders of "green" energy, even as his minions erect a multitude of new bureaucratic roadblocks to the development of the oil and natural gas resources needed to keep American homes heated, factories humming, and laptops processing. These new resources could also create millions of new jobs, generate trillions of dollars in tax revenues, and spark economic expansion in rural areas like western Pennsylvania and upstate New York that have known only decline for generations.

This week, it's Lisa Jackson, Obama's Environmental Protection Agency head, putting another pillow over the face of the energy industry: A "comprehensive research study to investigate the potential adverse impact that hydraulic fracturing may have on water quality and public health." Her agency will spend $1.9 million on the first year of the study and unspecified amounts in the years thereafter. Hydraulic fracturing is when water and minute amounts of nontoxic chemicals are injected deep underground into rock formations to free previously unreachable stores of oil and gas. The technology opens up immense natural gas resources like the Marcellus Shale area of economically blighted rural regions of western Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland and West Virginia.

Jackson forgot to mention "concerns" about hydraulic fracturing come only from environmental groups seeking to stop all uses of fossil fuels like oil, coal, and natural gas. Jackson's announcement followed the Washington premiere of the anti-fossil fuel "GasLand" propagandamentary produced by some of these same groups. Two more facts Jackson didn't mention: Never in the 60-year history of hydraulic fracturing has it been linked to a single proven public health threat to water quality; and the EPA has already studied hydraulic fracturing, most recently in 2004, when it found no threat. Clearly, this new study is about stopping fossil fuel development, not protecting public health.

Obama is against offshore drilling for the United States but he didn't hesitate to help his benefactor, George Soros. This report from Brett Baier from Fox News details the the $2 billion dollar investment in Brazil for their offshort drilling. Nice payback to Soros who is heavily involved in Brazilian oil production.

When the rumors first struck in the summer of 2009, it was the Chinese were going to be drilling off Cuba coming 40 miles from the Florida coast tapping into what should have been oil drilled by US companies. It turned out the Chinese had negotiated some oil leases but now the truth has come out -- Russia is reestablishing itself in the Western Hemisphere in Cuba and will be drilling for oil not China. Even though the oil rigs will be 40 miles from FL, the Russians will be doing horizontal drilling to capture oil much closer to the US shore.

Are we also going to turn over GITMO to the Cubans and then they lease GITMO to the Russians? It is a fair question based on the actions of this Administration to date. All signs are pointing to Obama's intent to destroy the United States superiority in Defense. What concessions did he make to the Russians during his visit that the American people know nothing about?

Obama Surrenders Gulf Oil to Russia

The Obama administration is poised to ban offshore oil drilling on the outer continental shelf until 2012 or beyond. Meanwhile, Russia is making a bold strategic leap to begin drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. While the United States attempts to shift gears to alternative fuels to battle the purported evils of carbon emissions, Russia will erect oil derricks off the Cuban coast.

Offshore oil production makes economic sense. It creates jobs and helps fulfill America's vast energy needs. It contributes to the gross domestic product and does not increase the trade deficit. Higher oil supply helps keep a lid on rising prices, and greater American production gives the United States more influence over the global market.

Drilling is also wildly popular with the public. A Pew Research Center poll from February showed 63 percent support for offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. Americans understand the fundamental points: The oil is there, and we need it. If we don't drill it out, we have to buy it from other countries. Last year, the U.S. government even helped Brazil underwrite offshore drilling in the Tupi oil field near Rio de Janeiro. The current price of oil makes drilling economically feasible, so why not let the private sector go ahead and get our oil?

The Obama administration, however, views energy policy through green eyeshades. Every aspect of its approach to energy is subordinated to radical environmental concerns. This unprecedented lack of balance is placing offshore oil resources off-limits. The O Force would prefer the country shift its energy production to alternative sources, such as nuclear, solar and wind power. In theory, there's nothing wrong with that, in the long run, assuming technology can catch up to demand. But we have not yet reached the green utopia, we won't get there anytime soon, and America needs more oil now.

We were shocked last month to learn that Interior Secretary Salazar was putting offshore drilling on hold but we should have expected that with this Administration. What we did not expect was Salazar freeing up water for the Central Valley of California in what looks to be an exchange for Yes votes for their Congressmen.

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced he will extend public comments for six months on a last-minute proposal by the Bush administration to open swaths of the California, Alaska, Atlantic and Gulf coasts for drilling.

All of these articles point to the tanking of the domestic oil and gas production causing the loss of thousands of jobs. As we have mentioned before, we have to wonder if this is done on purpose to eventually nationalize oil and gas production in the United States.

From everything we see Fox News with Major Garrett and Bret Baier, and Jack Tapper of ABC are the only broadcast newsmen consistently digging for the truth on this Administration and what they are doing. Washington Times and Washington Examiner of the print media continue to investigate and are not afraid to state the truth of what they find.

As a side note on the media -- Yesterday I wrote the writer of an article at the Los Angeles Times about the COB estimate for healthcare sayting that it was not a final number as the CBO had not finished scoring although the Democrats were reporting it like it was the final CBO number. Within five minutes I received an email back with Thanks, I will make the correction on the on-line addition that it is a preliminary number. That is what I would expect a journalist to do but it is so rare, I was shocked. I have made it a point to tell everyone I know about what happened as it was so refreshing.

The media has been very lax except for a few to delve into and report Obama's background and find out just who is this man in the White House. It is obvious that he is not a lover of the United States Constitution, our Rule of Law, or much of anything else American as he attempts to turn this County with the help of the Progressive Socialists in Congress into a socialist nation. He wants everything controlled by the Federal Government. Now is the time for major media to get their act together and realize this Nation is facing a crises with Obama and his Administration in control along with the Progressive in Congress. They need to start investigation and start reporting on what is happening including the buying of votes for healthcare by the President not just the Speaker and Majority Leader of the Senate.

We are being saved right now by some very courageous Republicans in Congress along with some Democrats helping them to keep Obama from nationalizing our healthcare. How long can they hold off Obama/Pelosi/Reid and all the deals they are offering the Democrats for a "YES" vote. Buying votes against the will of the American people is so wrong but now we find out while the healthcare debate is raging, that this Administration has domestic oil and gas production in the bullseye. What else are we missing with the healthcare being the topic 24/7?

The media needs to ask who is the power behind Obama? We are speculating that it is the 60's radicals of the Weather Underground and Black Panthers along with George Soros. It is more obvious by the day that Obama doesn't care one bit about any rules in Congress as long as he gets his agenda rammed through which if they use the Slaughter Rule will be Unconstitutional.

Was ACORN started by Wade Rathke, a former member of the Weather Underground, to have voter fraud as part of their mission? When did their voter fraud originally start. We surmise that a test case may have been Bill Clinton's run for Governor after he was defeated after one term and came back to run in four years. Everyone needs to remember that originally Soros backed the Clintons not Obama. In 2004, his allegiance switched to Obama when Obama was running for Senate from Illinois from Hillary Clinton for President in 2008. Research is turning up that Soros was a friend of Tom Ayers, Bill Ayers Dad.

Evidence is also beginning to mount that Obama was chosen by Franklin Marshall Davis, a known Communist from Chicago, along with the Ayers, Dohrn, Rathke and others to be President someday and fulfill their wish of making America a socialist country. Is that day at hand? More and more we are beginning to think it is.

We ask once again - Where is the Mainstream Media (MSM) in investigating all these ties of Obama? We are not birthers but frankly we think it odd that Obama has spent over $1M to hide his $15 birth certificate. Just what does that certificate contain? Why isn't the MSM interested -- is it because they know the truth? Inquiring minds wants to know.
