What is Wrong with this Supreme Court?

What happened to State's Rights?  It is obvious that this Supreme Court who struck down the Montana campaign finance law has overstepped.  This decision is Corporate rights yes and States Rights no.  When did conservatives quit believing in state's rights?

For 100 years Montana had their campaign finance reform in place that was put there by the vote of the people of Montana to counter the corruption of the legislature by two silver mining companies who had bought and paid for office holders in the Montana Legislature.  Now the SCOTUS has decided that Montana citizens 100 years ago were wrong.

I cannot believe this court has inserted themselves in state finance laws ensuring the more corruption will take place in elections.  The very idea that a Corporation is a person who can give unlimited amounts goes against the very fabric of fair elections.  Individual citizens are limited to spend $2500 in the primary and another $2500 in the general for federal candidates but the Koch Brothers can spend whatever millions they want for a candidate from their corporation and are now pledging $400 million to buy this election.

It is time the American people stood up and ignored the campaign ads from the Super PACs and vote for the person they feel is the best person for the position.  These rich billionaires who pay a small percentage in taxes are out to take over America and destroy the middle class.  When I first heard someone say that I thought they were nuts, but not any more.  Some of the wealthy of this Country like the Koch Brothers are definitely out to buy a President and members of Congress and are basically telling the middle class that we don't count -- only the wealthy and their money now count in this Country.

Yesterday when Justice Scalia went after Obama on immigration, I was appalled at his venom.  When you are named to the SCOTUS, would think you would be held to a higher standard but conservatives like Limbaugh applauded Scalia because he took after Obama.  What was Scalia thinking with the attack on this President or any President?  What if a more liberal justice had taken after President Bush.  The hypocrisy of the conservative pundits is beyond belief today.  Now if the Obama order on immigration is challenged, Scalia must recuse.  That was stupid and childish.

Last night  I became totally embarrassed by the Republican Party and their sell out to corporations and the big money because that is the only explanation for the Romney win when in the early states he didn't even reach 40% of the vote but he was shoved down our throats.  Now the SCOTUS has interfered in State's Rights in a 100-year old Montana Law and some Republicans thinks it is great.

This is not the Republican Party I voted for the first time in 1968.  If things keep up like this, I am not sure I will continue to remain a Republican.  I am not alone as more and more Republicans are questioning what has happened to the Republican Party that is now bought and paid for by big donors.  Rasmussen has this gem today that more than half of Americans don't believe either party represents the American people::

That is very high percentage and shows there are major problems looming in both parties thanks to these two candidates neither who should be President IMHO.  How Republicans are managing to blow this election and drive long time Republicans to vote for a Libertarian candidate who is more Republican than the Republican candidate is one for the record books.

Last week Speaker Boehner said Obama was part of the cover-up on Fast and Furious because he invoked Executive Privilege.  Did he say the same thing when President Bush claimed executive privilege on the firing of US Attorneys by Karl Rove since he was not a cabinet secretary?  Now Cong Issa has declared that he believes the White House knew nothing.  I disagreed when people first said it was a witch hunt but after learning more, it sure looks like the House Leadership will do anything to embarrass Obama to help Romney.  Issa told the truth on Sunday so will the Speaker apologize or is he going to continue to be a hypocrite.

As you can tell, I am totally fed up with the leadership of the National Republican Party who seem to be bought and paid for by the big donors like the Koch Brothers who want to run America and have no rules or regulations including minimum wage.  People like the Koch Brothers are the reason we have unions.

When I can watch MSNBC and discover is it more honest on the SCOTUS rulings then Fox News, there is a real problem.  Michael Medved did a really good job with his appearance on MSNBC.  He gave straight answers which is missing in a lot of conservative pundits as they have turned into pretzels many times to defend Republicans of today and the nominee Romney.  Some have defended Romney more than they ever did President GW Bush. It makes you wonder what is their agenda because Bush was a conservative and Romney has always governed as much more liberal who never met a fee he didn't like as Governor of MA.

Today I voted in the Oklahoma Republican Primary and at least I didn't want to vote 'none of the above' like I did in our Presidential Primary.  Making progress.

MRC Bias Alert: NBC Debate Moderators Pepper Republicans with Questions from the Left

Would someone please tell us who sets up these debates in the Republican Primaries because time after time over the years we have had liberal moderators attacking Republican candidates from the left during the debates.  Frankly not sure I see much good out of the debate format with liberal moderators.  Town Halls where people ask questions who are not planted seem a better route with a moderator from the RNC not an NBC liberal moderator.  Figured it would be easy to search and find out who is behind the choices of moderators but I am still looking.

There is video at the Media Research Center along with more details about the debate last night.  Brian Williams should have introduced himself as Obama supporter Brian Williams because he is one of the members of the media who have been carrying water for Obama since 2007 and probably before that.  Would he ask conservative questions during a Democrat debate?  Not on your life.  He is one of many anchors/reporters from the Obama media who will do anything to tank a Republican frontrunner so Obama has a clearer shot to be reelected.   Last night he proved he is nothing but a liberal shill trying to make GOP candidates especially Rick Perry look bad against Obama.  Watch him tonight after the Obama speech and he will be swooning like always.

All I can say is I am extremely happy the Media Research Center has become a major player in giving us the facts about the liberal media and their continual attacks on conservatives while they push the liberal Obama agenda and protect Obama at all costs.  The liberal media must be having nightmares about Governor Perry, the outsider of the Washington establishment, being the frontrunner.

NBC Debate Moderators Pepper Republicans with Questions from the Left

NBC’s Brian Williams and Politico’s John Harris peppered the NBC News/Politico debate inside the Air Force One pavilion at the Reagan Library with questions from the left, repeatedly pressing the Republican presidential candidates with liberal talking points and Democratic agenda items. 

That’s time which could have been better spent advancing issues and concerns of Republican primary voters interested in differences amongst the candidates, not in forcing the candidates to defend conservative positions despised by MSNBC viewers and hosts.

Williams hit Texas Governor Rick Perry from the left on his state’s poor economic indicators (“no other state has more working at or below the minimum wage”) , chastised him for cutting education funding and, citing how “your state has executed 234 death row inmates,” demanded to know whether he’s “struggled to sleep at night with the idea that any one of those might have been innocent?”

Williams was taken aback when the audience applauded Perry’s death penalty record, prompting a befuddled Williams to follow up: “What do you make of that dynamic that just happened here, the mention of the execution of 234 people drew applause?” 

Williams was also confounded by Ron Paul’s libertarian views, quizzing him about how the nation would survive without FEMA and confusingly ruminated about no federal air traffic control: “All the pilots in the sky, to add to their responsibilities, their own air traffic control, in an organic way.” He also hailed former Democratic President Lyndon Johnson for addressing the need for government to provide meals to school kids, wondering: “Do you think that is any more -- providing nutrition in schools for children -- a role of the federal government?”

Challenging Senator Rick Santorum, Williams lectured him about how Santorum’s “Catholic faith, has as a part of it, caring for the poor.” Williams insisted Santorum explain: “Where do the poor come in, where do they place in this party, on this stage, in a Santorum administration?” 

Williams’ liberal advocacy and hostility to conservatives shouldn’t have come as any surprise given his history as documented in the MRC’s Media Reality Check, by Geoffrey Dickens, released on Tuesday, “Brian Williams Vs. Tea Party Conservatives: GOP Debate Moderator Has Long History of Admiring Obama and Badgering Republicans from the Left.”

Harris, Editor-in-Chief of Politico, contrasted the success in liberal Massachusetts with failure in conservative Texas: “Massachusetts has nearly universal health insurance – it’s first in the country. In Texas, about a quarter of the people don't have health insurance. That's 50 out of 50, dead last. Sir, it's pretty hard to defend dead last.”

MSNBC ends contract with anchor Keith Olbermann

When the news broke last night, it set off a firestorm of emails from all the news outlets reporting.  MSNBC sent out breaking news and within seconds other outlets including Entertainment was sending out emails and then the speculation began on why.   He led everyone for being an opinionated, angry, arrogant 'news' anchor with a delivery that would get under most people's skins.  Hard to believe he was their #1 anchor but then the ratings are so low at MSNBC, it wouldn't take a lot.

This could gain a little credibility back for MSNBC but still not watching them in the evening with Chris Matthews and Rachael Maddow. Don't like snarky people and that is what MSNBC has on the air in the evening. I didn't like Olbermann when he was with ESPN and then with Sunday Night Football for NBC which made me change channels when he was on spouting away. His delivery is not something I like -- he could be a conservative and I would say the same thing. He is snarky, angry, and egotistical -- all traits that only the most rabid fans could appreciate.

Cable News will be much better off without Olbermann although think it is about time MSNBC and Fox lose the News behind their names in the evening because they have turned into entertainment channels for the most part with a smattering of news thrown in from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. (cst) Greta on Fox at 9:00 p.m. is about the only news show worth watching as most of her shows are very interesting -- she doesn't shout or try to rile people up -- she gives the facts.  If you want to remain angry in your life, then continue to watch Fox from 6-9 p.m. (cst) and guarantee you will be fuming most nights.  You can read the same info on line and not get as riled up before going to bed at night as you de with the manner of delivery of some of the so-called news anchors.

There is only one cable outlet though for Breaking News and that is CNN who for years has led the other two by a mile when something breaks no matter the time of day. All of their anchors are able to handle breaking news while on Fox the only one in the evening that can do a good job is Greta and MSNBC has ZERO.

We are very happy to see Keith Olbermann bite the dust and just hope a sports channel doesn't pick him up.

The question of the day is whether Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow are going to tone down their rhetoric. Roger Ailes at Fox News has already told his anchors to tone it down. Both stations are way over the top at times in the way they present their views and have turned cable news into political stations as an off shoot of talk radio. Never thought I would say it but I liked Hannity a lot better with Alan Colmes who used to annoy me but the give and take was actually better.

My #1 person though to get the ax was Keith Olbermann who was far and above the most annoying on cable news of anyone.  No one could compare to his annoying delivery.

Cable news channel MSNBC ended its turbulent relationship with its most-popular anchor, Keith Olbermann, with a terse statement saying that Friday night's show was his last.

In a six-minute farewell sign-off at the end of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," the forceful liberal commentator didn't volunteer a reason for his abrupt departure from the channel that became an ideological counterbalance to the rival Fox News Channel.

The only hint Olbermann offered for his exit was an admission that over the last couple of years there were "many occasions" when the noise and heat surrounding the show "was just too much for me." But, he added, it was a supportive, unwearying audience that "required that I keep going."
