"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
(Thomas Jefferson)

Obama's Muslim Outreach 2.0: Doing business with the Muslim Brotherhood

Wanted everyone to read the latest from one of the foremost experts on National Security, Frank Gaffney, on the speech to the Muslim World by Obama where he wants Israel to pull back to the 1967 borders and put their existence in jeopardy.  We have had out doubts about Obama from Day One but no more -- this is just the latest where he has dissed our friends and supported the enemies of not only Israel but America.  Terrorists want to destroy America and Israel, but it makes zero difference to this President.  The Muslim Brotherhood are not our friends no matter how much this Democrat President reaches out to them.

What do the people who supported Obama who also support Israel think of their choice now?  Many voted for Obama so not to be called a racist.  Personally have thought from the beginning that Obama didn't like America and the values we have held for over 200 years and it is becoming more obvious today that he will put the Muslim World ahead of America and our allies.

Read this article from Frank Gaffney and then decide for yourself how important it is for someone like Governor Rick Perry of Texas to get in the race who is not afraid to go toe to toe with Obama.  We know Rick loves America and our allies would not have to worry about his support.  This election is too important to not have one of our outstanding Governors get in the race.  We have already seen him in action against Obama which is what we need to win this election and put this Country back on the right track where our allies can depend on us not sell us out!
Obama's Muslim Outreach 2.0: Doing business with the Muslim Brotherhood

Center for Security Policy | May 19, 2011
By Frank Gaffney, Jr.

President Obama's latest paean to what he calls "the Muslim world," delivered at the State Department today, was an exercise in whistling past the graveyard of real and growing dangers and a litany of misleading statements that borders on official malpractice. Its most important upshot is this: The United States is now prepared to do business with the Muslim Brotherhood.

While Mr. Obama did not use those exact words in his Muslim Outreach 2.0 speech, that was surely the practical effect of his effusively depicting the so-called "Arab Spring" as a welcome expression of democratic sentiment throughout the region. By so doing, he studiously ignored the reality on the ground in virtually every country in the Middle East and North Africa now undergoing political turmoil: Islamists associated with or akin to the totalitarian, salafist Muslim Brotherhood are poised to be the principal beneficiaries of any balloting that ultimately occurs in Egypt and Tunisia - and, perhaps in due course in, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia, Libya, Bahrain and beyond.

Mr. Obama seeks to provide the putative, newly minted "democracies" with tangible evidence of his commitment to their future success. He declared that the United States would give up to a billion dollars in debt relief to Egypt and economic, trade and technical aid to the Egyptians and Tunisians. Other nations stand to get similar treatment if only they replace their present autocrats with new ones - provided the latter are prepared to come to power via elections.

With such a policy, the United States stands to compound the mistake now being made in Libya - where al Qaeda operatives, former Guantanamo Bay detainees and other Islamists are already being given "non-lethal" and "humanitarian assistance" and U.S. political support. Without knowing precisely who are likely to be the beneficiaries of such assistance, we run the very considerable risk that we will effectively be arming, as well as legitimating, our enemies.

In his wishful thinking about the region and its future, the President glossed over the extent to which the Muslim Brotherhood is not the "moderate" and "modernizing" movement - let alone, as his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper once put it, "a largely secular organization" that "eschews violence." In fact, the Brotherhood is a virulently fascistic group that is explicitly committed to waging jihad to achieve the triumph of the supremacist Islamic politico-military-legal doctrine known as shariah, and the establishment of a global caliphate to rule in accordance with it.

Neither did Mr. Obama mention the threat posed by the Muslim Brotherhood's operations inside the United States - a vast array of front groups that have as their common mission "destroying Western civilization from within" and that are executing a phased plan for achieving that objective. [Link to my column this week.] Such organizations would also be legitimated by the President's embrace of their comrades elsewhere - and certain to gain still greater access and influence inside his administration.

Particularly worrying is the President's contribution to the growing peril facing our friends in Israel. His earlier, vociferous denunciations of Israeli housing-construction activities, combined with his highly public, contemptuous mistreatment of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, contributed to the widespread perception in the region that what he rhetorically insists is the "inseverable bond" between the United States and Israel has, in fact, been greatly weakened. If the sense takes hold that there is daylight between Washington and Jerusalem, the problem will not be confined to the train-wreck in the making of yet-another Palestinian unilateral declaration of independence. It will translate into war.

The President sought to finesse what should properly be understood as an insuperable impediment to peace negotiations between the Israelis and a Palestinian government that includes the Brotherhood's local franchise, the designated terrorist organization Hamas. He said what he depicted as "that question" needs to be sorted out in coming months, but immediately declared that the United States and its "Quartet partners" were going to press on to get negotiations going and concluded as soon as possible.

Add in his view that Israel must withdraw fully to the 1967 borders (albeit with some "swaps" of territory) - what amounts, implicitly, if not explicitly to a call for the re-partitioning of Jerusalem - and the expectations can only be fanned among Israel's many enemies that the moment is arriving at last, to drive the Jews into the sea. Lip service paid to Israel having secure and defensible borders will founder on the reality that the 1967 borders are wholly incompatible with either security or the defense of Israel, and the growing readiness and ability of her foes to exploit that reality.

The President's ongoing efforts to align the United States with Muslims, irrespective of whether they seek to impose shariah or otherwise seek our destruction, is a prescription for furthering what has emerged as the Obama Doctine: Emboldening our enemies, undermining our friends and diminishing our country. It is also a formula for disaster. It should be challenged at every turn, in favor of a policy that makes clear we differentiate between Muslims who do not seek to impose shariah upon the rest of us and those who do. The former are our natural allies; the latter our unalterable foes. We had better start making that distinction, and act accordingly.

NY Times: Islamist Group Is Rising Force in a New Egypt

First it was the Washington Post on Libya this week and now the New York Times on Egypt who are no longer falling for the spin of Obama and his advisers or the SoS Clinton and her mouthpieces. However bad we perceive all of the problems to be in Libya and Egypt along with other parts of the Middle East, it has to be a lot worse to get these two newspapers to take on Obama and his agenda.

Former President Carter lost Iran but Obama seems set on a course to lose most of the countries in the Middle East to Islamic fundamentalists. Is this what Obama wanted all along? If it is not, he sure took the wrong path. The Obama Administration set out almost immediately after taking office to try and convince Americans that we had nothing to fear from the Muslim Brotherhood but even the New York Times tells a different story in Egypt including calling them an Islamist Group.

It is now time for the entire media to stop the cover-up for the Obama agenda and report the facts not spin. This new press secretary Carney is nothing but a spinner for Obama who doesn't hesitate to misstate the facts if it benefits Obama. If anyone gets the truth out of him on something that is very important it would be a shock.

This is actually a frightening article about what is happening in Egypt including the fact that the military who opposed the Muslim Brotherhood now seem to have thrown in with them. The dominoes are beginning to fall and the Muslim Brotherhood is stepping into the vacuums that are being created. How many more countries are going to fall when idealistic young people start the movement and then when it takes hold find themselves on the outside looking in at the Muslim Brotherhood in charge? The Brotherhood will make their life even more controlled as we have seen over the years in Iran. Bet it is a safe bet that they are going to look back on Mubarak someday and wish he or someone like him was back in charge.

Islamist Group Is Rising Force in a New Egypt
By MICHAEL SLACKMAN

Published: March 24, 2011

CAIRO — In post-revolutionary Egypt, where hope and confusion collide in the daily struggle to build a new nation, religion has emerged as a powerful political force, following an uprising that was based on secular ideals. The Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist group once banned by the state, is at the forefront, transformed into a tacit partner with the military government that many fear will thwart fundamental changes.

It is also clear that the young, educated secular activists who initially propelled the nonideological revolution are no longer the driving political force — at least not at the moment.

As the best organized and most extensive opposition movement in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood was expected to have an edge in the contest for influence. But what surprises many is its link to a military that vilified it.

“There is evidence the Brotherhood struck some kind of a deal with the military early on,” said Elijah Zarwan, a senior analyst with the International Crisis Group. “It makes sense if you are the military — you want stability and people off the street. The Brotherhood is one address where you can go to get 100,000 people off the street.”

There is a battle consuming Egypt about the direction of its revolution, and the military council that is now running the country is sending contradictory signals. On Wednesday, the council endorsed a plan to outlaw demonstrations and sit-ins. Then, a few hours later, the public prosecutor announced that the former interior minister and other security officials would be charged in the killings of hundreds during the protests.

Egyptians are searching for signs of clarity in such declarations, hoping to discern the direction of a state led by a secretive military council brought to power by a revolution based on demands for democracy, rule of law and an end to corruption.

“We are all worried,” said Amr Koura, 55, a television producer, reflecting the opinions of the secular minority. “The young people have no control of the revolution anymore. It was evident in the last few weeks when you saw a lot of bearded people taking charge. The youth are gone.”

The Muslim Brotherhood is also regarded warily by some religious Egyptians, who see it as an elitist, secret society. These suspicions have created potential opportunities for other parties.

About six groups from the ultraconservative Salafist school of Islam have also emerged in the era after President Hosni Mubarak’s removal, as well as a party called Al Wassat, intended as a more liberal alternative to the Brotherhood.

In the early stages of the revolution, the Brotherhood was reluctant to join the call for demonstrations. It jumped in only after it was clear that the protest movement had gained traction. Throughout, the Brotherhood kept a low profile, part of a survival instinct honed during decades of repression by the state.

The question at the time was whether the Brotherhood would move to take charge with its superior organizational structure. It now appears that it has.

“The Brotherhood didn’t want this revolution; it has never been a revolutionary movement,” said Mr. Zarwan of the International Crisis Group. “Now it has happened; they participated cautiously, and they realize they can set their sights higher.”

But in these early stages, there is growing evidence of the Brotherhood’s rise and the overpowering force of Islam.

Weekly Standard: Fears of a Muslim Brotherhood Takeover are Overblown

This article from the Weekly Standard is one of the best that I found to express what you were seeing in the streets of Cairo yesterday.  The people perpetrating the violence last week as one activist in Cairo said have disappeared into the woodwork of the streets of Cairo -- no place to be seen.  Another missing figure this week has been El Baradi, the former nuclear inspector of the UN or shall we say the former cover-up person for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and Iran.

What we have seen all week are families coming out to have their voices heard.  It was a demonstration of people just fed up with being under the rule of Mubarak.  They wanted their freedom and unlike Iran, they had the military on their side.

Yesterday while watching the people celebrate, the parade of cars started with their horns honking and flying the Egyptian flag -- many of these were the people who are the business owners taking part as you saw the BMWs, Mercedes, etc. all honking horns through the streets of Cairo.  It was celebrate today and go to work tomorrow.  The Egyptian people Muslim and Christian were united in getting Mubarak to resign and leave.  A key part came when the drivers of the tanks in unison turned their tank turrets away from the people to signal freedom had come to the Egyptian people.  Now the Military Council has removed the curfew and forbid certain people to leave the Country.

The Military Council is now in charge until fair and free elections can be held.  Egypt although a Muslim country since 1980 when it was declared the state religion is not part of  the Islamic fundamentalist movement that is on full display in places like Iran.  The chances of fundementalist clerics taking over Egyptian Government is almost nil to non-existent.  The people of Egypt don't want to go from one dictator to something even worse where they are told what to do in their everyday lives.  They have seen what happened in Iran and chances of it being repeated in Egypt are slim to none.

People we know from that part of the world are unanimous in the fact that Egypt has been not an Islamic fundamentalist country -- religion plays a part but it is in their personal lives and where they want to keep it.  To a person they say there is no way Islamic fundamentalist get anywhere near power in Egypt.  They talk about how this uprising had no real leaders but pulled in people from all walks of life as witnessed how the neighborhoods took over their own security to keep out the thugs.

My favorite story was the one where the guy tried to break into someones home, they caught him and beat him all the way to where they found the military to hand him over.  Some thugs ransacked one of the museums and Egyptians took it upon themselves to guard the Museums and dare the thugs to try it again.  They had anything they could find to protect themselves and beat up the thugs.  The people were interviewed yesterday were talking about now going back to work and the shop owners were preparing to reopen today.

Yesterday was truly a remarkable day in the long history of Egypt where their prayers have been answered and freedom won -- now the hard work begins to put a Government together and set up free and fair elections.

Weekly Standard: Fears of a Muslim Brotherhood Takeover are Overblown
8:25 AM, Feb 12, 2011 • By ALI ALYAMI

The controlled public rage against corruption, oppression, and marginalization at the hands of tyrannical Arab regimes that has unfolded in recent weeks is unprecedented and probably unstoppable, but it caught most Western observers by surprise. While they accept the Arab revolt for what it is—a rejection of dehumanizing conditions—most Western analysts have dug out their old notes and recycled their customary predictions: The inevitable outcome will be that Islamists will take over and mobilize the Arabs against Western interests.

Now that Mubarak has stepped down as president of Egypt, worries persist that Islamists will impose their theocratic totalitarianism on the Egyptian people, despite the fact that power has been transferred to the military high command as a temporary caretaker until the Egyptian people decide what form of government they will adopt.

Apprehension that Islamists will turn public discontent to their advantage is understandable and legitimate, but that outcome should not be taken as a foregone conclusion. From what we know now, the uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt, and Yemen have been organized and carried out mostly by nonsectarian citizens who are driven by worldly needs and by the rejection of corrupt systems that enslave them through fear, intimidation, hunger, and contempt for human rights. The vast majority of the protesters in Maydan Al-Tahrir (Liberation Square) were not waving Muslim textbooks or pictures of terrorists and religious fanatics, but flashing signs that read “shukran Facebook”—Thank you, Facebook.

The chance that Islamists will capture the Arab uprisings is slim unless anti-democratic, oil rich Arab dynasties like the Saudi and other Gulf monarchs, or their Iranian rivals, are allowed to pour billions of dollars into the coffers of their respective proxies, as they did in Gaza, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The West can prevent this from happening, but even if it does happen, whoever seizes power in the countries in revolt will be forced to remember the fate of the ousted rulers they replaced.

The millions of Arabs who took to the streets and risked their lives to bring an end to centuries of oppression are not likely to accept theocratic dictatorships after ridding themselves of tyrannical ruling dynasties. Most of the rebelling generation grew up in the age of transformative modern technologies and knowledge of their human rights. They spend more time debating worldly issues over social media than reading the Koran or going to mosques. Their perceptions of themselves and the world they want to be part of supersede nationalism, tradition, and religious indoctrination. This reality is overlooked in the current avalanche of analysis and predictions.

Instead of concentrating on fear of Islamists, the West ought to focus on the unprecedented shift in attitude among Arabs in addressing their multitude of grievances. For the first time, the Arab people have publicly recognized that their misfortunes are not the fault of outsiders— the West, Israel, colonialism—but the result of the hierarchical and totalitarian Arab methods of governing in which the individual is subservient to the state and to the whims of absolute rulers.

Western analysts are also overlooking one of the most astounding aspects of the present turmoil: It is apparently irrelevant to the well-being of the international community. For example, global trade and travel, and the availability and prices of commodities like oil, are almost unaffected by the Arab uprising. This can be attributed partly to the fact that the Arabs contribute little or nothing to the world’s knowledge-based technological economy.

Some may argue that the world’s relative lack of alarm over destabilizing turmoil in the Arab world is due to the fact that Egypt, Tunisia, and Yemen have little impact on the world’s oil production. True, but even if a political uprising befell Saudi Arabia itself, a short-term interruption of the oil supply could easily be made up from other sources. In addition, Arab autocracies need to sell their oil to placate their restless populations and discourage oil consumers from developing alternative sources of energy, a notion oil producers dread.

Are Obama and His Administration Friends with the Muslim Brotherhood? Evidence mounts they are!

Muslim Brotherhood's creed: "God is our objective; the Koran is our law; the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations." From Muslim Mission statement, it is waging "a kind of grand jihad eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."
Read that very carefully and it will give you chills that we have a man who as President who is bending over backwards for the Muslim Brotherhood and in fact, has authorized a new initiative to help them get Government money -- our tax dollars. First it was NASA and now other parts of the Government. We cannot fathom spending our tax dollars on an organization, Muslim Brotherhood, who wants to institute Sharia Law in this Country and destroy America as we know it.

Coming August 31: ‘Direct Access’ Stimulus Grants for the Muslim Brotherhood
Christine Brim
Aug 29th 2010

Think of it as ACORN reborn, with a slice of Jihad on the side.

On August 31, this coming Tuesday, the Muslim Brotherhood-associated “Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations” (CCMO) will bring 25-30 Muslim leaders of 20 national Muslim groups to attend a special workshop presented by the White House and U.S. Government agencies (Agriculture, Education, Homeland Security, Health and Human Services etc.) to provide the groups “funding, government assistance and resources.” The workshop will apparently provide special access for these Muslim Brotherhood organizations: the organizers pledge to provide “direct access” and “cut through red tape.” Government and Muslim groups will hold an Iftar dinner (breaking the fast of Ramadan) after the workshop.
Not only does Obama bend over backwards for the Muslim Brotherhood but now wants to give them access to taxpayer money? Has he done this for the Baptist or any other Christian or Jewish groups? The  White House wonders why more and more Americans think he is a member of Islam? It might also be the fact he was born to a Muslim father, went to a Muslim school in Indonesia, took classes in Islam at a Catholic School in Indonesia, went to the Islamic Mosque with his stepfather, was a member of Rev Wright's Church in Chicago for over 20 years -- same church where Rev Wright was a former Muslim and honored Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and other Muslims in Chicago attend.

Frank Gaffney, Jr., of the Center for Security Policy, in his articls details how Obama has reached out to the Islamic community since becoming President:

Friend of the Brotherhood?
Center for Security Policy | Aug 30, 2010
By Frank Gaffney, Jr.

A new Pew Center poll says nearly one-in-five Americans think Barack Obama is a Muslim....

Growing numbers of our countrymen may be on to something else about the Obama presidency, however, that is even more alarming: In instance after instance, Mr. Obama has seemingly bent over backwards to accommodate not just Muslim-Americans, but a deeply problematic organization - the Muslim Brotherhood (or Ikhwan) - that purports to represent their interests here....

Consider the following, necessarily partial listing of actions - some symbolic, some substantive - that can legitimately be seen by the Muslim Brothers as evidence of our President's submission (the literally meaning of "Islam" and the goal of all those who, like the Ikhwan, seek to impose shariah worldwide):

•Mr. Obama declared in his inaugural address that, "The United States is a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus and non-believers." The ordering of "Muslims" before "Jews" was clearly deliberate, since the latter have been and are in the United States in far larger numbers than the former and have played a much more important role in the nation's history from its founding. Subsequently, he went even further, describing (inaccurately) America as "one of the largest Muslim countries in the world."

•In his much-ballyhooed address to "the Muslim world" delivered in Cairo in June 2009, Mr. Obama signaled his determination not only to "reach out" to followers of Islam. He also committed himself to an initiative - clearing the way for Muslims to "fulfill their zakat (tithing for charity) obligations" - that would have the practical effect of giving Brotherhood operatives (whose representatives he insisted be in the audience) more latitude to engage in material support for terrorism and, thereby, wage their "civilization jihad" in and from America.

•In September 2009, the Obama administration co-sponsored a United Nations Human Rights Council resolution eagerly sought by the Muslim Brotherhood and its friends. The resolution called on member nations to "prohibit and criminalize" speech that offends Islam and its followers. Such an accommodation would clearly violate the Constitution's First Amendment guarantees of freedom of expression.

•Speaking of the Constitution, the Obama administration is arguing in federal court that the U.S. government's ownership of AIG, which happens to be the largest purveyor of shariah-compliant insurance products in the world, does not violate the Establishment Clause's separation of church and state.

•We recently learned that, according to President Obama, the NASA Administrator's "foremost" priority is to make Muslims feel better about themselves and their history. Job 1 is not assuring U.S. supremacy in space, or even assured access to it; it's Muslim outreach and therapy.

•Then, last month, President Obama endorsed the megamosque near Ground Zero in a White House Iftar dinner attended by prominent Muslim Brotherhood operatives. Subsequent efforts to distance himself from that stance, in the face of intense criticism from the public and politicians of both parties, has only put into even sharper focus his pandering to this community.

•Now, my Center for Security Policy colleague Christine Brim has broken the story of a major new Obama initiative in that vein. In the words of the largest Muslim Brotherhood organization in the country, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), "A phenomenal next step has been made where government Iftars become coupled with workshops to provide resources and benefit the Muslim community. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (DOA) and the [Muslim Brotherhood-associated] Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations (CCMO) have paired the first of such events, scheduled for August 31, 2010."

Frank Gaffney: Obama's 'Teachable' Shariah Moment

We had not planned to do another story on AIG or Obama and the Islamic religion today but this email arrived from Frank Gaffney and after the shock wore off, we decided it is time that the American people learn the truth about Obama. The media cover-up for Obama has to end immediately. If the American people elected a Muslim Arab American President, we have a right to know.

As a follow-up to the AIG story we posted earlier today on this site, we learn this from the Center for Security Policy:

There is much more yet to be learned, of course. For example: Why is the U.S. government promoting the Brotherhood's effort to penetrate our capital markets via "shariah-compliant finance," including its direct ownership of a huge player in that field, AIG? Which other shariah-adherent Muslims are getting their expenses paid by the State Department as they network around the globe on behalf of their seditious agenda? How much is this outrageous program costing, and what does Foggy Bottom have to show for it? Why did Team Obama cosponsor a UN resolution last Fall imposing "shariah blasphemy" laws that utterly conflict with the First Amendment's protection of free speech?
What else don't we know about what this Administration is doing trying to import Shariah Law into the United States? How many people knew about the Obama Team resolution at the United Nationsl imposing "shariah blasphemy" laws that conflict with the First Amendment's protection of free speech? Already were stunned about AIG but now are totally blown away by the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood owns them.

Gaffney is correct that the speech of Obama Friday night for Ramadan may be the best thing that has happened as it has woken a lot of Americans up to what Obama is doing. We first thought that George Soros was the puppetmaster but have had to revise our thoughts to it is the Muslim Brotherhood pushing Obama. All the evidence points to the fact that Obama is Muslim. Look at his history --

Born to a father who was a member of the Luo tribe in Kenya, was Muslim, but had no influence on Obama's daily life. This made Obama 50% white, 44% Luo, and 6% black. Today Obama has relatives in Kenya who support radical Islam and he supported one for President of Kenya,

Raised by a stepfather who had him attend an Islamic Mosque in Indonesia on a regular basis and at the Catholic School took classes in Islam,

Mentored in high school in Hawaii by Communist Franklin Marshall Davis who introduced him into Chicago politics where Obama became friends with Nation of Islam members in Chicago including Louis Farrakhan along with domestic terrorists from The Weather Underground,

Attended Rev Wright's Church which was nothing but a front for Muslims wanting to use attending a Christian Church as a front to fool people in business. Sat in church for 23 years listening to Rev Wright, a former Muslim, preach black separatism.

Recited the Islamic prayer in the Islamic dialect in an interview and then had to be corrected on ABC when he said "I am a Muslim" by the anchor to "Christian"
The signs were all there so that no one should have been shocked at his speech from Cairo to the Muslim nations where he requested the Muslim Brotherhood be in attendance, but we were. His bowing to the Saudi King put more doubts in our minds as the American President does not bow. His attitude toward the the Muslim at Fort Hood who killed all those people in the name of Allah or the Christmas Day bomber, or bringing 9/11 terrorist mastermind to NYC to be tried in the shadow of the World Trade Centers all point to the fact he supports Muslims over Christians and Jews.

Where is the national media and their so-called investigative reporting? Attending White House lunches 'off the record' or is their liberal, progressive agenda overruling their investigative journalism as they thought he was one of them. They were wrong and should stand up and apologize to the American people for covering up who they knew Obama to be -- The First Arab American President with family ties to radical Islam. Why wasn't there more reporting when Obama interfered in the election in Kenya on behalf of his radical cousin Odinga who lead riots after losing the election?

Believe all doubt is erased and Obama, the first Arab American President, is Muslim.

Obama's 'Teachable' Shariah MomentCenter for Security Policy Aug 16, 2010
By Frank Gaffney, Jr.

On Friday night, Barack Obama gave his full-throated endorsement to a mosque and "cultural center" on private property that has been purchased in Lower Manhattan adjacent to the site where the World Trade Center's twin towers once stood. By Saturday, however, he wanted the American people to know that he was not commenting on "the wisdom" of putting such a mosque by that hallowed ground - just "the right" of its backers like Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf to do it, pursuant to the Constitution's protection of religious freedom.

Unfortunately for the President - but fortunately for the country - it is too late for such ludicrous contortions and dissembling. However much Mr. Obama and his fellow Democrats now regret his original White House statement, it has created a "teachable moment." Not just about the Ground Zero mosque but about the larger enterprise it is intended to serve: bringing the law of Saudi Arabia and Iran, shariah, to America.

Imam Rauf makes no bones about that being his purpose. So do some of his most prominent backers, like the Muslim Brotherhood front, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), and the Brotherhood's Palestinian franchise, the designated terrorist group Hamas. In fact, according to the New York Post, on Sunday, Mahmoud al-Zahar, an Hamas co-founder and leader in Gaza, told WABC Radio host Aaron Klein: "We have to build the mosque [at Ground Zero]. We have to build everywhere. In every area we have [as] Muslim[s], we have to pray and this mosque is the only site of prayer."

Al-Zahar also enthused about shariah, calling it the "tradition of Islam" which "is controlling every source of our life as regards to marriage, divorce, our commercial relations." He added ominously that, "Even the Islamic people or Muslims in [the United States] are living now in the tradition of Islam."

What else have we learned so far from Mr. Obama's teachable shariah moment? We now know that the President is willing to associate with members of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), not just in Cairo - where he insisted they be invited to hear his famous paean to Islam last year - but in the White House. For example, leaders of known MB front groups like Ingrid Mattson of the Islamic Society of North America and Salam al-Marayati of the Muslim Public Affairs Council were in the company at the Iftar dinner Friday when Mr. Obama fervently embraced the Ground Zero mosque.

This is an important insight since we know from uncontested evidence submitted by the government in the largest terrorism finance trial in U.S. history - the Holy Land Foundation case - that the Muslim Brotherhood's mission in America is "destroying Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions."

What on earth is the President of the United States doing fraternizing with, and thereby legitimating, operatives of an organization with such a seditious mission - to say nothing of endorsing their most immediate priority: the Ground Zero Mosque?

We have also learned that the Obama administration insists that Imam Rauf, another Brotherhood apparatchik, is a "moderate." Never mind the abundant evidence to the contrary - not least his statement that he wants to bring shariah to America. Believing him to be a good "ambassador" for the United States, the Obama-Hillary Clinton State Department has gone so far as to send Rauf on a taxpayer-funded trip to Arab capitals. While there, he will surely try to parlay the President of the United States' explicit endorsement of his Ground Zero project and sponsorship of his travels into funding from oil-rich promoters of shariah to build his 13-story, $100 million megamosque within spitting distance of some of America's most hallowed real estate.

(snip)

As he hosted the Ramadan fast-breaking dinner at the White House on Friday, President Obama showed his true colors on shariah. Trying to dress up the Ground Zero mosque or any other aspect of this brutally repressive, totalitarian and inherently unconstitutional program as a matter of "religious freedom" does not pass the giggle test. Shariah is about power, not faith, and no amount of Obama subsidies, solidarity or spin on behalf of that agenda will persuade the American people to allow the so-called "tradition of Islam" to supplant our civil liberties, form of government and way of life.
