"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

What is the real reason the White House is attacking Fox News?

The more we see of Obama and his Administration the more that the days of Nixon are brought back to life with the enemies list and cover-up. What is Obama covering up to go on the attack against Fox so vehemently that it has Helen Thomas telling them to settle down. Every last member of the media should be getting concerned about this all out attack against a media outlet because they dare to do investigation against this Administration.

Could containment of stories be the reason the White House attacks Fox so other networks won't pick up on the stories from Fox and allow the American people to see what is happening per Mike Allen and Josh Gerstein via Allapundit, Hot Air, who thinks that ?

Fox News has been reporting facts something missing from a lot of the news stories of the so-called mainstream media. ACORN is a fraudulent organization but does the White House want it covered up? We believe the answer is yes and why most of the media ignored it for days. How many seats in Congress were won due to voter fraud? How many close states did Obama win that should have gone to McCain due to voter fraud.

There are a few journalists like Jake Tapper (ABC) and Chip Reid (CBS) from the networks who understand that being a journalist means more then reporting what the White House wants you to report. We have been impressed with Chip Reid since the days of Monicagate when he always reported facts, and our opinion hasn't changed. We need more Tappers and Reids in DC. Today we would have to add Helen Thomas to the list who wants the attacks on a media organization stopped.

What is so bad, that like Nixon, Obama attacks the messenger - Fox News?

The real reason the White House is attacking Fox News: Containment

This seems so obviously correct that I feel embarrassed for not having figured it out sooner.

The rationale of the White House offensive against Fox News has been a topic of much puzzlement lately. Is this just the White House lashing out? Are they trying to rally the base?

But I think Mike Allen and Josh Gerstein nail the real explanation in their story today: The White House is working to prevent stories born on Fox from crossing over into more widely-viewed media. Most Americans still haven’t heard of Van Jones, for instance; and the strategy is now all about containment…

Allen and Gerstein:

“We’re doing what we think is important to make sure news is covered as fairly as possible,” a White House official told POLITICO, noting how the recent ACORN scandal story started because Fox covered it “breathlessly for weeks on end.”

“And then you had a couple days of breast-beating from The Washington Post and The New York Times about whether or not they were fast enough on the ACORN story,” the official said. “And it’s like: Wait a second, guys. Let’s make sure that we keep perspective on what are the most important stories, and what’s being driven by a network that has a perspective. Being able to make that point has been important.”…

“They’re not really a news station,” Axelrod told ABC’s “This Week.” “It’s not just their commentators, but a lot of their news programming if you watch, it’s really not news….The bigger thing is that other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way, and we’re not going to treat them that way. We’re going to appear on their shows. We’re going to participate, but understanding that they represent a point of view.”

Losing: Helen Thomas, NYT, and The Nation Object to White House Fight with Fox News

The White House attacks on Fox News are backfiring on Obama and his Administration. When you begin to see Helen Thomas take her gloves off and tells the WH to back off, you know Obama and his Communications are way off base.

Someone needs to put a copy of The Constitution under his nose and ask if he can read and comprehend that the Bill or Rights are part of the Constitution. The first ten amendments make up the Bill of Rights.

First Amendment – Establishment Clause, Free Exercise Clause; freedom of speech, of the press, Freedom of Religion, and of assembly; right to petition,

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Well, it's not the first time the Grande Liberal Dame of the press corps has had words for the Obama White House, but today Helen Thomas is voicing more unlikely sentiments by telling the White House attack dogs to heel in the Fox News fight.

In an interview with MSNBC, the columnist -- who is promoting her new book on presidents and their campaigns -- also stressed the White House ought to "stay out of these fights."

"They can only take you down. You can't kill the messenger," said Thomas, who has covered every president from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama.

The New York Times also joined the chorus of folks telling the White House to chill this weekend.

The Grey Lady may be in danger of being labeled a "wing of the Republican Party," for using such uncharacteristically sharp language in criticizing the president, but I'm sure they'll scrub the offending parts when the White House rings. In the meantime, enjoy:
