To recap the last week after Congress returned, Nancy Pelosi was elected as Minority Leader of the House Democrats even though the more moderates went after her. She won by a large margin because Progressives think they lost so many seats because they didn't go far enough. That is an idea that they need to keep pushing into the 2012 elections.

Cong Charles Rangel (D-NY) will be censured by the House but frankly after being found guilty on 10 counts he should have been ousted from his seat. If he had any ethics, he would resign but those words 'ethics' and 'Rangel' are like oil and water.

Now to the Good News of the week!

Republicans look to be picking up another seat as Ann Marie Buerkle in NY-25 has cleared the hurdle of Onondoga County in NY and only votes left to count are absentee in a county where she has her most strength so you can safely chalk up 241 seats for the Republicans. Most of us in our wildest dreams didn't think we would be at 241 and the Democrats at 194 after the election.

Congratulations to all the new members of leadership and especially to Speaker-Elect Boehner. We are so happy to see Eric Cantor as Majority Leader and Kevin McCarthy as Majority Whip because along with Paul Ryan, the budget guru, the three of them ran the Young Guns program under the leadership of the NRCC Chair Pete Sessions (R-TX) which helped bring the Republicans all the new faces for the 112th Congress. With the reelection of the NRCC Chair Pete Sessions for another term the Republicans are in the fight for more seats in 2012 with the Young Guns ready to ramp up again. These newly elected Young Guns were prolific fundraisers for their races. It is an exciting time to realize on January 3, 2011, we will have 241 seats in the House versus 194 (tentative) seats for the Democrats.

We hated to see Mike Pence resign as the Conference Chair as he did such an excellent job but he is weighing his options for running for a different office in 2012. We wish him Good Luck in what ever position he chooses to run. Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), the new Conference Chair, will do an excellent job as he moves to Conference Chair from Chair of Policy Committee. With two new Freshman, Kristi Noem (R-SD) and Tim Scott (R-SC) on the new Leadership, we expect a lot of new and fresh ideas coming out of this whole group.

Last night, Andrew Cuomo toasted Charlie Rangel, a dear friend and colleague in New York's Special Interest Government at the opulent Plaza Hotel.

After extolling the virtues of Rangel, Cuomo returned to the underground subway passage he snuck into the Plaza through in order to escape the media scrutiny others faced when going into the event at the front door.

Fortunately for the people of New York, it was noticed.

Republicans are exhibiting signs of life in New York State which is great! This is one of the best video's we have seen against a Democrat running for Governor. Attorney General Cuomo tried to run away from the media after praising Rangel in front of Democrats. Did he actually think he could pull this off? Between this and his support for the Ground Zero mosque, we are beginning to question who with common sense would support him.

How long does it take the House Ethics Committee to investigate Rangel when it is right in front of their nose? Didn't take the Pelosi House long to admonish Cong Wilson for saying to the President "You Lie" which turned out to be true but why let facts get in the way of decorum. That was a much worse offense according to Pelosi who refuses to remove Rangel from the Committee writing the Tax Code then the fraud of Rangel by her actions.

WASHINGTON -- A government-watchdog group filed a formal complaint yesterday with the House Ethics Committee to investigate the puzzling array of questions surrounding Rep. Charlie Rangel's ownership of a Harlem brownstone.

In addition to his failure to report proceeds from the 2004 sale of 74 W. 132nd St., Rangel also failed to report rental income, The Post reported last month.

"To the degree Rep. Rangel underreported rental income year after year on his financial-disclosure statements from his investment property, serious questions arise as to whether he also failed to report such income on his city, state and federal income-tax returns," Ken Boehm, chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center, wrote to the Ethics Committee.

The committee already is investigating Rangel.

Among the problems with Rangel's disclosure forms is that in 2002 he reported that the property was valued at as much as $500,000 but now claims it was worth only as much as $100,000.

Let's get this straight. Cong Rangel is mad because there is not enough money being spent on Obamacare which is spending $900B over 10 years while Obama says he will veto anything that adds 10 cents to the deficit. What are we missing? With $900B being spent on this healthcare boondoggle, they don't have enough money to take care of the poor?

Guess the Democrats were used to being in charge before the Internet because their rationalizing their agenda makes no sense to anyone who can read and comprehend. Do they think we cannot do the math or will forget what was said. A new day has dawned where we want accountability from our elected officials will be able to find that accountability or lack thereof.

You would think Rangel with all his problems on lying to IRS, etc., would not be out in front but it shows the arrogance of those who break the law who still sit as Democrat Chairmen in the US House.

Rep. Charles Rangel took a bizarre shot at President Obama yesterday, saying the president's well-received prime-time health-care speech actually created problems for House Democrats and endangered the passage of legislation.

Obama's insistence on trimming the reform price to $900 billion over 10 years would mean slashing House-backed subsidies for the poor, Rangel said.

Part 1: Healthcare Bills Submitted by House and Senate Republicans

This is Part 1 in a series taking a look at the Healthcare bills submitted by Republicans in the House and Senate in this session that are languishing in Committee with no action.

We decided to start with the House after the Joint Session speech by President Obama since Cong Wilson has been proven right even though he ignored decorum. Turns out that the Democrats defeated two amendments that would have kept illegals from getting health insurance with the taxpayers footing the bill. Pelosi wanting to admonish Wilson on the floor of the House has to be a bad joke since she has allowed Rangel to skate. Lying to IRS and the House by Rangel seems to us to be a much more serious offense then telling the President he lied when it was the truth. Guess Pelosi and the Democrats forget about their actions during President Bush's State of the Union. Once more hypocricy by Pelosi and her followers rules the day.

The Democrat leadership in the House led by Speaker Pelosi have ignored all the Health Care bills submitted by Republicans and then 'lie' they are the "Party of NO" which is not true. Pelosi and her folowers from the Progressive and Black caucuses are not listening to the Blue Dog Democrats as well. Their socialist group continues to forge ahead with their attempted takeover of healthcare by the Government. No wonder Obama loves Pelosi, the House dictator.

We decided this Sunday morning to take a look at the status of House Bills 77-1118 and to get a feel for what the bills were about. It was shocking to discover that not one of those bills had moved in Committee when several are bi-partisan. Looks to us like Pelosi/Obama/Reid do not want Americans to know about the Republican bills. The bills submitted are short and to the point not 1,000 pages in length.

We have researched the first 11 bills and provide a synopsis for each bill from the Thomas Library of Congress site. Read the synopsis and then ask yourself why the Democrats led by Pelosi are not acting on these bills. Is it because they prefer a 1,000+ page bill so earmarks can be hidden in the bill? How much of their 1,000+ page bill was written by lobbyist? We have a lot of questions but we hear crickets chirping on the answers.

We understand why the Democrats who are in the hip pockets of trial attorneys might not like H.R. 1086, but why should doctors have to perform unnecessary tests to protect themselves from medical malpractice lawsuits.

On the other hand, we do not understand why H. R. 270 and 917 that affect our military are not being heard in committee or why AARP is not demanding action on H.R. 1118. That makes no sense to us at all. Is it because the Progressive Caucus runs the House?

Pelosi loath to drop hammer on Rangel (Democrat Corruption Alert!)

Why is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refusing a growing chorus of calls to drop the hammer on ethics-challenged Charlie Rangel?

Because, at the moment, doing nothing creates a lot less trouble for Pelosi than doing anything, current and former House aides tell POLITICO.

Stripping the Harlem Democrat of his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee would force Pelosi to make a series of unpalatable decisions about Rangel’s successor that would create a ruckus in the Democratic caucus.

It would also infuriate the Congressional Black Caucus, which is still sore over Pelosi’s decision to strip committees from former Louisiana Rep. Bill Jefferson – even after Jefferson had been found with a wad of tainted cash in his kitchen.

“Unless they find $90,000 in his freezer, like they did with Jefferson, we’re going to wait [for the outcome of a House ethics probe],” said a Democratic aide familiar with Pelosi’s thinking on the matter.

Staffers say the speaker has been so focused on the health care battle that she simply hasn’t devoted much time to Rangel’s recent troubles – and there’s no push among House Democrats to heed the fire-Rangel cries of Republicans, the New York Times, Washington Post and Buffalo News.

“She hasn’t even spoken to the congressman about this latest episode,” said a close Rangel associate, referring to recent published reports that the 78-year-old Rangel underreported his assets by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

“The speaker is totally behind him, and she told him that the last few times they have spoken,” the person added.

Comment: Let's get this straight. If you are member of the Black Caucus in the House, you don't have to follow the law or ethics because no one will do anything to you. Former Congressman Jefferson was found guilty on numerous counts (11 counts), yet, before the trial even after they found all the money, the Black Caucus stood behind him. What if that was a white Republican? Wait, we had that and the Democrats called for removal immediately, but then so did the Republicans when it came Duke Cunningham. Double standard at play. It seems if you are black, you can do anything in the House now and get away with it, but watch out if you are a white Republican. This is the same Black Caucus that didn't want Republican JC Watts to be member.

Is DOJ being politicized by AG Holder and Pres Obama?

UPDATE: When are we going to hear about Holder launching an investigation in Rep Rangel? Charlie Rangel, the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, the group that writes the tax law, admitted that his financial disclosure forms omitted about half his net worth. Most of that missed net worth comes in the form of one Town House worth about one million dollars. That is a question Americans should be starting to ask. Is this DOJ out of control after only seven (7) months in office? Is their agenda to protect Obama supporters/donors and go after the people they perceive as their enemies aka Republicans?

The latest action by the DOJ higher ups to "kill" the criminal investigation against Gov Richardson and his staff without the knowledge of the US Attorney in NM, gives credence to the Obama DOJ heading toward being one of the most politicized ever. Considering that we had the Clintons for eight years that is saying a lot. However, that should not come as a shock as Holder came out of the Clinton Administration so he learned all about corruptness and how to protect your friends and attack your enemies from the Masters of Deception.

Yesterday, Holder hired a special prosecutor to investigate the CIA interrogators to determine if their interrogations were criminal? These terrorist wanted to kill all of us so I see nothing wrong with any interrogation that will lead to the discovery of their plans to harm us. This Administration and the political DOJ now want to satisfy their far left base by going the CIA agents who have been the leaders in protecting Americans from terrorist attacks. This comes after Obama said this Administration would look forward not back but what difference is a promise when it comes to Obama. Guess that was just something for him to say to get elected. If anyone thinks that Obama is not behind this, I have swampland for sale in Arizona.

Earlier in the month charges of voter intimidation against the New Black Panther members in Philadelphia were dropped against the advise of senior DOJ personnel. Can we expect the New Black Panthers intimidating votes in more areas after this since the DOJ under Holder gave them a walk and blank check to do what they want?

Then we have the DOJ and Holder threatening Oklahoma with withholding funds on their English Only ballot issue. We would have bet in November after the results of the election were announced that the Great State of Oklahoma where every County voted for McCain and only gave Obama 34% would be a prime target by this Administration even though the Democrat Governor is a huge Obama supporter. Sure enough DOJ comes after Oklahoma on the ballot issue for "English Only." Learned yesterday they have backed off for now, but for how long? Bet they don't like the OK ballot issue to require picture ID to vote either.

We are sure there are many more instances we could find to the support asking the question about politicizing the DOJ, but these four over the last month jump out what is happening. Guess we can assume that AG Holder is going to be investigating Cong Rangel (D-NY) next after all the new information that has come out? Since he has a "D" after his name, we expect crickets will continue to chirp as nothing is done.

With the number of Obama appointees with tax and ethics problems, we should not be surprised at anything out of the DOJ. If Republicans had the amount of problems as the Democrat appointees, none of them would ever be confirmed. We are learning rapidly when the Democrats are accusing the Republicans of doing something, it is exactly what the Democrats are doing.

Obama said he would have the most transparent Administration, but it is becoming perfectly clear that is not the case like so many of his campaign promises that have been thrown under the bus. Wonder how many people are on the enemies list of this White House?

We have excerpted the information from the four cases we highlighted to show the politicization of the DOJ in the Obama Administration. We are convinced that AG Holder or his people at DOJ will not take a step without Obama and Soros approval. Read and judge for yourself if this DOJ is being politicized in favor of the liberal Democrats.

Bill Richardson and former high-ranking members of his administration won't be criminally charged in a yearlong federal investigation into pay-to-play allegations involving one of the Democratic governor's large political donors, someone familiar with the case said.

The decision not to pursue indictments was made by top Justice Department officials, according to a person familiar with the investigation, who asked not to be identified because federal officials had not disclosed results of the probe.
"It's over. There's nothing. It was killed in Washington," the person told The Associated Press.

Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perrelli, the No. 3 official in the Obama Justice Department, was consulted and ultimately approved a decision in May to reverse course and drop a civil complaint accusing three members of the New Black Panther Party of intimidating voters in Philadelphia during November's election, according to interviews.

The department's career lawyers in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division who pursued the complaint for five months had recommended that Justice seek sanctions against the party and three of its members after the government had already won a default judgment in federal court against the men.
Front-line lawyers were in the final stages of completing that work when they were unexpectedly told by their superiors in late April to seek a delay after a meeting between political appointees and career supervisors, according to federal records and interviews.

New financial disclosure reports filed by Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) show that the veteran lawmaker failed to report more than $660,000 in assets during 2007, a potential violation of House ethics rules.

Rangel, chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, also had previously stated that he sold a Florida condominium in 2007, but an amended report covering that year – filed in mid-August – now makes no mention of that transaction. It appears that Rangel no longer owns the condo as it is not listed on his 2008 financial report, filed last month.

The latest revelations on Rangel’s personal finances may prove problematic for the New York Democrat, who is already the target of a wide-ranging ethics investigation. That probe, which Rangel and House Democratic leaders had hoped would last a few months, is now coming up on its one-year anniversary.

The ethics panel is looking into Rangel’s use of several rent-stabilized apartments in a luxury Harlem apartment building, his failure to fully pay taxes on a vacation home in the Dominican Republic, and the lawmaker’s fundraising on behalf of the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at City College in New York City.

The ethics committee recently broadened the Rangel investigation to include Caribbean trips taken by Rangel and four other lawmakers. The panel is seeking to determine if the trips complied with the House’s ban on corporate-funded travel.

Rangel has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, but the new financial-disclosure reports for 2007 show at least $662,000 in previously undeclared assets held by the lawmaker.

These assets include several “empty” lots in Glassboro, N.J., valued at more than $3,000; a stock fund worth at least $250,000; an IRA account with more than $250,000 in assets; and investment fund account worth between $50,000 and $100,000.

NOTE: In 2006 and 2008, the Democrats talked about corruption in the Republican Party. One glaring difference is that Republicans resigned that were under the microscope. Rangel is still in Congress from NY with all these revelations. Is the House Ethics Committee going to do anything or is that reserved for Republicans. This man has frauded the taxpayers but no one seems to care on the Dem side of the House. Yesterday it was the Finance Chair of the Dem Senatorial Committee charged fraud. Dems are living up to the mantra that they are for sale to the highest bidder.
