Meet Ken Buck, Republican Candidate for US Senate from Colorado

The grassroots choice for Colorado
I became a candidate for the U.S. Senate because
of my growing concern about the direction the new
Administration and new Congress are taking our country.

When we first started looking at the Colorado Senate race between Jane Norton and Ken Buck in the Republican primary, we knew they were both very good candidates. The more we looked at Ken Buck the more we realized that here was a man from Greeley, Colorado, a prosecutor, and someone who understood the values of Middle America having grown up in small town America.  The words at the top of the website about the grassroots choice for Colorado rang true. 

What Buck was saying on the campaign trail is what we were thinking about what was happening in DC.  Ken Buck doesn't waiver in his beliefs and as he has said many times, he will not compromise his beliefs.  After watching his introduction to all of us, we became more convinced he is by far the best candidate for Colorado to send to the Senate on November 2nd. 




Ken Buck's latest ad says all you need to know about that race. Voters of Colorado have a chance to send Ken Buck to the Senate who will represent them or return Bennet who was appointed to represent Obama and Reid. That should be an easy choice.

GOP says compromise not on the agenda if they retake the House

Compromise? Who is using that word the most? Joe Biden is the one that keeps pushing they might be willing to 'compromise' on Bush Tax Cuts with Republicans. Then the media picks up on the word 'compromise' and puts out a Republican has said it when it turns out in Senator Corker's case, he didn't say what the media reported. How many times has that happened in this election cycle that the media has reported something was said that turned out not to be the case.

Is the word 'compromise' the new word of the day by Democrats to show that the GOP will compromise if elected to take the House. If it is, they don't know these members who will be in charge. They are in no mood to compromise on anything after spending the last four years having it shoved down their throat especially the last two with Obama as President.

There is a big difference between 'compromise' and working together to solve a problem. There are Democrats in the House like Dan Boren from Oklahoma you can work with just like you could his Dad, David Boren, when he was a Senator. Trying to work with the Progressive Wing of the Democrats would be a huge waste of time.

Republicans need to have their agenda ready to go that is about limited government, keeping the Bush Tax Cuts, decrease size of the budget, and FIX Social Security. The Obamacare bill needs file 13'd and start over on a real fix. Healthcare is a mess that has been made a lot worse by Obamacare. Also need to increase Border Security and NO Amnesty -- enforce the laws on the books.

DOJ needs to be the target of a Senate investigation after all the Holder has been doing against the welfare of American citizens from immigration to terrorists to vote fraud and intimidation that is condoned for starters.

True transparency needs to see the light of day in Congress and stop the backroom deals that are voted on within a short period of time of their agreement. Make the People's House the true voice of the people and make sure that "We The People" have access to the bills before they are voted on and can comment on them. Republican Leader Boehner, Eric Cantor, and Mike Pence have a plan to do just that when they take over.

Republicans aren't interested in compromising with President Obama on major issues if they retake the House or Senate, a senior GOP lawmaker said.

"Look, the time to go along and get along is over," said Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.), the chairman of the House Republican Conference. "House Republicans know that. We’ve taken firm and principled stands against their big government plans throughout this Congress, and we’ve got, if the American people will send them, we’ve got a cavalry of men and women headed to Washington, D.C. that are going to stand with us."

Pence said his party wouldn't compromise on issues like spending or healthcare reform, two of the weightiest items on Congress's agenda next year, when the Republicans could control one or both chambers.

"Look, there will be no compromise on stopping runaway spending, deficits and debt. There will be no compromise on repealing Obamacare. There will be no compromise on stopping Democrats from growing government and raising taxes," Pence told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt Thursday evening. "And if I haven’t been clear enough yet, let me say again: No compromise."

His words are meant to soothe conservatives who worry the party might be too accommodating of Obama and the Democrats in Congress.

Their fears were sparked earlier this week when retiring Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) suggested repealing healthcare reform might not be the best approach to the issue. The "Repeal It" argument has been a rally cry for Republicans this election cycle, and several conservative candidates and incumbents backed by the Tea Party movement have signed a pledge to support repealing the healthcare law.

But the conservative grassroots movement is worried the GOP leadership hasn't embraced the pledge. After Gregg's remarks, a conservative blogger argued the senator's view "reflects that of the Senate GOP leadership, despite their protestations to the contrary."

Conservatives also pounced on a suggestion, published by a political blog, that Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) had told party donors not to worry about incoming "crazier Republicans," and that the Senate GOP wouldn't seek to repeal the healthcare law. (Corker subsequently denied having said anything of that sort, and cleared the record in a subsequent post with that blog.)

The Tennessee senator went on CNBC on Friday to calm those conservatives, saying he'd vote again to repeal healthcare reform if given the opportunity, and vowed to work with Democrats to accomplish that.

"I think vulnerable Democrats who say we've got to do something, I think they're going to be willing to work with us to dismantle this piece of legislation," Corker said.

Adding to the pressure on GOP leaders not to compromise will be the incoming class of conservative candidates backed by the Tea Party movement.

"I think it's wrong to compromise your values to fit in with the social climate in Washington, D.C.," Colorado Republican Senate candidate Ken Buck told The Washington Post this week. "When it comes to spending, I'm not compromising. I don't care who, what, when or where, I'm not compromising."

Delay Of Federal Report Involving Giannoulias’ Bank Until After Election Day

Illinois voters are faced with not having the full truth about Giannoulias' Broadway Bank until after the election. They would be smart to err on the side of caution and not vote for the Mob Banker Giannoulias who is also involved with Rezko as well. Electing Giannoulias may lead to have another Senator appointed and another special election when the truth comes out. Also in all of this is the Giannoulias Family Broadway Bank who gave Obama his first loan for a condo that he didn't qualify for so it pretty much smells all the way around.

Obama Administration lied about their desire to have transparent government in 2008 -- it made good soundbites but the actions following his election speak louder then any of his words. Hopefully, the people of Illinois now have a clue to the real Obama they refused to acknowledge in 2008. This is just one more time this Administration is hiding the truth as the truth might hurt one of their loyal supporters -- Giannoulias!

House Republican Whip Cantor Statement On Delay Of Federal Report Involving Giannoulias' Bank Until After Election Day

House Republican Whip U.S. Representative Eric Cantor (R-VA) issued the following statement in response to a Chicago Tribune report that notes, “A final report on the failed family bank of Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias will not be released until after the Nov. 2 election.”

“People are extremely frustrated with Washington and the use of political influence to hide important information from the public is a clear example why.

“Illinois voters should know all of the facts about the candidates before casting their ballots, and the government should not be covering up information to protect political candidates.

“The failure of Alexi Giannoulias’ bank cost the government millions of dollars, and there is no excuse for President Obama and his administration to hide information from Illinois voters. Further, Alexi Giannoulias himself should demand that all information be made public if he has nothing to hide.”

Democrats Call Lisa Murkowski A Liar for Good Reason

First she channeled former Senator Ted Stevens who died in a plane crash and now her campaign says they forgot to change the headline about Democrat endorsements. HUH? Seems they used statements from the past and the Democrats got mad as they are going to be voting McAdams not Murkowski. How dumb can one campaign be or should the word be 'arrogant?' for the Murkowski campaign.

It leaves a bad taste to lose a primary and then launch a write-in or go to a different party. Congressional seats do not belong to the person who occupies them which some people cannot seem to fathom. We don't see any write-in candidate winning in Alaska or anywhere else as most people will not take the time to write in the name. We have some really spoiled candidates who think they are owed the seat -- Murkowski and Crist for starters or any number of members of Congress who replace their spouse when they die. Doesn't make a difference if they are a Democrat or Republican -- time to stop this entitlement mentality.

Because Murkowski didn't leave the GOP like Charlie Crist, she was cut slack in keeping her Senate Committee assignments. Think the NRSC needs to change the rules if you lose in the primary and run as No Party, some Party, or do a write-in, you are automatically stripped of your committee assignments immediately and can no longer causus with the Republicans.

Murkowski does not come across as a very nice person. We do not know what Joe Miller really stands for except we are told he is a conservative although his background doesn't scream 'conservative' but right now there is no other choice in this race but Joe Miller. We need to keep that seat Republican and if Murkowski had not launched a write-in, it would be a safe seat. Very little integrity on the part of Murkowski or her campaign -- like none!

Democrats Call Lisa Murkowski A Liar

All the while, Lisa Murkowski’s campaign has been engaged in a smear campaign against Joe Miller. Now, out of the blue, Democrats come out and call her an outright liar?

It was troubling when Murkowski broke her word to voters and refused to abide by the results of the Republican primary as promised. If these accusations are legitimate, all in all, it does not speak well of Lisa Murkowski’s character. And character does matter. She has invoked the name of the late Ted Stevens on her behalf. He can’t speak for himself. However, it appears some individuals Murkowski has claimed endorse her candidacy can – and they are flatly denying it.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTVA-CBS 11 News) Alaska Democrats are calling Sen. Lisa Murkowski a liar, after a mailer went out to many Anchorage residents claiming notable Democrats would be voting for her.

In a statement Murkowski’s campaign manager Kevin Sweeney says the mistake was the campaign’s fault, saying they forgot to change the headline.

The mailer’s banner states: “Alaskan Democrats Who Are Voting for Lisa Murkowski — and not Scott McAdams.” Below the headline are several quotes from politicians including Democratic gubernatorial candidates Ethan Berkowitz and Bob Poe, who dropped out of the governor’s race.

Alaska Democratic Party Chair Patti Higgins says some of the quotes used about the sitting senator are from the past, and many of the candidates have openly stated they will be voting for Scott McAdams.

While some members of Congress are grandstanding about cutting NPR, Minority Whip Eric Cantor and his team at You Cut went to work making the defunding of NPR an item on You Cut.  We believe it will end up the number one item this week to cut:

Terminate Taxpayer Funding of National Public Radio


Savings of Tens of Millions of Dollars (potentially in excess of a hundred million dollars)

National Public Radio's (NPR) recent decision to terminate commentator Juan Williams contract because of comments he expressed on another station have brought new found attention to NPR's receipt of taxpayer funds.

NPR receives taxpayer funding in two different ways. First, they receive direct government grants from various federal agencies, including the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Education, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Over the past two years this direct funding has totaled approximately $9 million. But NPR also receives taxpayer funds indirectly. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting makes grants to public radio stations. While some of these grants can be used for any purpose, some can only be used to acquire and produce programming. Often this programming is purchased from NPR. Indeed programming fees and dues paid by local public radio stations to NPR accounts for approximately 40% of NPR's budget or about $65 million last year. A portion of these funds were originally federal tax dollars provided to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to the local public radio stations.

For those naysayers saying Republicans won't cut Government when they take over the House, they have not bothered to see what they are already doing with You Cut which is just the beginning.  They want to hear from taxpayers for ideas on what to cut -- they are listening.

Florida Governor's Race: Sink Doesn't Rule Out Using Taxes to for $12.5B in Her New Spending

Tax and Spend Alex Sink is living up to her reputation. In the debate after first not saying how she is going to pay for her $12.5B in new spending, Sink looks to have settled on using an 'Internet Tax' down the road to get the money for her new programs. She addresses it as the 'fairness issue' for taxing internet purchases.

Taxing an entity who has no infrastructure in the State doesn't seem very fair as it will cost them more money to handle the taxes and all the paperwork associated with ensuring the State gets their tax dollars.

That's as bad as here in Oklahoma when some 'misguided' state reps said that we should be 'happy' to pay a voluntary internet tax on items we purchase. Bet me!

Guess this means the Democrats have run out of areas to tax so now they are looking at the Internet. Since Sink is part of that Tax and Spend Obama Democrat mentality with wanting to spend $12.5B more without a way to pay for it, we figure the Internet Tax must be part of the Obama Talking Points memo to Democrat Governor candidates as a way to raise taxes.

Sink Doesn’t Rule Out Using Taxes To Pay For $12.5 Billion In New Spending

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Alex Sink didn’t rule out proposing a state income tax as a way to pay for the $12.5 billion in new spending she includes in her economic plan.

During Monday night’s statewide CBS debate, Rick Scott questioned Alex Sink on how she will pay for the $12.5 billion dollars in spending she proposes in her economic plan. Scott asked “What tax does she have to raise? She’s already backed taxes in payroll and sales and cable and water. Is she going to have to propose an income tax?”

Unable to provide a clear answer, Alex Sink first claimed that she would not support any tax increases then immediately said she would consider an internet sales tax down the road. “But, down the road, as I work with the legislature on many of these issues of fairness, we do have to address the fairness issue because our local retailers are very disadvantaged on the sales tax issues...”

Rick Scott spokesman Trey Stapleton said “This is another prime example of Alex Sinks failure to provide Floridians with a clear plan that will turn the state around. If you believe Sink’s Obama math, you can increase spending without providing a way to pay for it. You don’t have to be a 4.0 math major to know that the only way you can pay for these proposals without cutting spending is through increased taxation or federal stimulus money. Both fit into Sink’s liberal ideology.”

Rick Scott has a plan to grow the economy and jobs while cutting spending while Sink has a plan to spend $12.8B more with no real plan to pay for the expenditures except  taxing the internet. The choice for Florida is clear -- Vote SCOTT/CARROLL on November 2nd and send Alex Sink and her 'internet tax' to the unemployment line in January!

‘Call Me Madam’: Let This Video Be My Apology for Once Supporting Sen. Boxer

This election has it all, but this may top it for any video or article we have read.  This is the last thing I expected to find when logging on this morning -- a Hollywood producer apologizing for supporting Sen Boxer in the past elections.  We first saw the video at The Washington Examiner and then followed the link to get the full story which we have posted here.  Amazing, shocking, unfathonable all are words that come to mind. 

Boxer in her arrogance forgot a very important word -- RESPECT!  You earn the respect of people not demand it as she did to the General.  Boxer is not someone we would want to respresent us in the Senate -- we have to believe the people of California feel like David Zucker with his apology for supporting her:

I remember immediately feeling embarrassed that a member of Congress would treat an officer of the U.S. military like that. And doubly embarrassed that back in the early 90’s I had contributed to Barbara Boxer’s campaign. I was so outraged at the pure arrogance of that moment, that I sat down to write the spot, highlighting the pure absurdity of our California Senator dressing down a General for calling her “Ma’am.” No Naked Gun or Scary Movie ever had an opportunity as good as that one for pure ridicule. Never mind that the military are instructed to call their superiors including members of congress ‘Sir’ or ‘Ma’am’, including specifically, Members of Congress!

I thought an apology would have been appropriate, but to my knowledge, none has ever been made by Senator Boxer. This I find distressing, since apologies from public figures nowadays are the norm. I mean, it’s not as if she texted her junk to Brett Favre. This was just arrogantly insulting an army officer. But I guess that’s okay with her.

In the debate with Carly Fiorina, the subject was brought up, but Boxer was quite adept at deflecting it — and still without an apology. Let this video be my apology. Every time I see the public record listing my campaign contribution to Boxer — I wince. I mean, we all have things we’ve done in the past that we’re embarrassed about, but I’d rather have my being restricted to 100 yards away from elementary schools be public knowledge than that $5,000 Boxer campaign contribution.

National Politically-correct Radio -- Firing of Juan Williams

When we first heard about the firing, we were shocked. Juan Williams is not someone we would have expected NPR to fire over his comments to Bill O'Reilly. Believe a lot of us share Williams' apprehension if when flying we would see people in Muslim garb on the same plane. Since flying is not my #1 thing to do (understatement), would probably get off the plane and take a later flight. Cannot feature sitting through an entire flight waiting for something to happen since the terrorists have made very clear they intend to strike again.

More and more people this morning are beginning to question this firing and asking if Soros and his $1M contribution to Media Matters is behind this since he is a huge contributer to NPR. Wouldn't shock us if he was the ultimate source behind the firing, but now the Congress can finally quit funding this liberal group of radio stations. The head of NPR said they are get 2% of their funding from the Federal Government but we believe 1 cent is too much.

If Soros was behind this in his attempt to take out Fox News, he must have not had a good night last night knowing that Fox News just gave Williams a $2M contract. Actually Juan Williams has been someone from the left on Fox that doesn't irritate like Alan Colmes used to when he was on with Hannity. He has earned respect for the books he has written over the years on Civil Right which is so ironic he gets fired by NPR for his statement. When Williams fills in for Bill O'Reilly, we have noted his interviews are done with respect and class and he always knows the subject matter. Of the liberal commentators, would rank him near the top for not being annoying. In fact, he says some pretty funny things at times.

My Fox News Sunday colleague Juan Williams has been fired by NPR for telling an inconvenient truth.

Juan was appearing on Bill O'Reilly's show Monday night, when O'Reilly asserted, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.” Juan didn't disagree with this claim.

Would President Obama, for example, disagree? I don't think so. Isn't this why, for example, we are fighting a war to prevent jihadists from re-establishing a terror base in Afghanistan? (It's a war, by the way, that Juan happens to oppose.) But do the powers-that-be at NPR really think that jihadists, especially if aided by state sponsors, are not a serious threat? Do the powers-that-be at NPR think their analysts shouldn't be allowed to say they are?

Juan cited the words of the Times Square bomber: “He said the war with Muslims, America’s war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts." Do the powers-that-be at NPR deny that jihadists have made countless comments of this sort? Are NPR analysts not allowed to cite them?

Juan also commented, “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I've got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Do the powers-that-be at NPR think Juan Williams is a bigot? Do they think a traveler who has a reaction (fair or unfair) like the one Juan describes, in our age of terror in the name of Islam, is a bigot?

Of course the powers-that-be at NPR know he's not. In fact, I suspect the powers-that-be at NPR pretty much think what Juan thinks. But the standards of political correctness must be maintained. Pressure groups speaking for allegedly offended Muslims must be propitiated. And so Juan had to go.

NPR--unfair, unbalanced...and afraid.

Can't Trust Charlie (Understatement)

If a year ago someone had said that Charlie Crist would become a bigger flip flopper than John Kerry, we would have said NO WAY! We would have been WRONG! Don't know if anyone keeps statistics about flip flopping but we have a hunch that Charlie Crist would be right at the top on basic issues.

Florida voters are seeing the same thing as Marco Rubio's poll numbers are getting higher and pulling away even more from Charlie. It certainly didn't help Charlie when he said even if he had won the Republican Primary, he would have become No Party. Don't know a soul who believes that including Charlie himself if he was being truthful. He just says anything he thinks will get him votes.

Will be glad when November 2nd is history along with Charlie! Will he stay in Florida or go to work for Obama is the next question?

Rubio For Senate Releases New Web Video: “Things Change”

Miami, FL – With Charlie Crist rapidly flip-flopping positions in a desperate attempt to say and do anything to win this election, the Rubio for Senate campaign today released a new web video entitled, “Things Change.”

Throughout this election, Crist has changed positions on issues that are of fundamental importance to Florida voters. Crist was for the Obama stimulus, then against it when he needed Republican votes and now he’s for it again as he tries to remake himself into an Obama Democrat. Crist was pro-life when he needed Republicans, but now he fashions himself a pro-choice leader as he seeks Democrats. Crist said he would have voted for ObamaCare after he said we should repeal it. How does Crist defend these transparently political changes of positions?
