"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
(Thomas Jefferson)

Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine in 1961

NOTE: From the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign against Socialized Medicine as proposed by the Democrats, then a private citizen Ronald Reagan Speaks out against socialized medicine. There is no video because this was an LP sent out by the American Medical Association
President Reagan's comments in 1961 need to be heard by everyone in America including those Democrats in the Senate who voted to keep Obamacare instead of repeal. His comments detail what the Democrats were trying to pull off on socialized medicine during the Truman years and they never stopped. The Democrats finally pulled it off with Obamacare years after Reagan's warning in 1961. That passage fell in the category of 'elections have consequences" which was never truer than in 2008.

The comments of President Reagan should be used by everyone as he sums it up better than anyone I have heard what is wrong with socialized medicine. His words to contact your members in Congress including the ones who agree with you to express your disgust with socialized medicine are as true today as when he first said them.

Please share the link below with your members of Congress as they need to listen to President Reagan in this You Tube audio about the dangers of socialized medicine:

The Judicial Ruling by Florida District Judge Vinson when he ruled that it is unconstitutional for the bill to mandate individuals to buy healthcare was a major step forward. Because the Democrats got cute and attached a no severability clause in the Obamacare bill, he ruled the whole bill was ruled unconstitutional.

Now it is up to all of us to put more pressure on the Senate even though they have voted to keep Obamacare. This fight is far over and their votes to keep Obamacare against the wishes of the American people will have repercussions in 2012. The House has done their part but we have to let our Republican members know we stand behind them 100% in their fight against Obamacare and the House Democrats who voted to keep it, we will be coming after them in 2012.

Doubt if you would ever see a Pelosi or Barney Frank take the time to listen to this Reagan audio because they have no desire to hear what he had to say. Those Senate Democrats along with House Democrats who voted to keep Obamacare who are up for reelection in 2012 need to hear this audio loud and clear.

The question of the day is if Ben Nelson, Nebraska Democrat, is going to stand for election or is he going to retire. He has gone from being popular in Nebraska to be one of their most unpopular Senators ever. During the Bush years he was a staunch ally of the President but since Obama took over he has been voting with the Democrats more and more. Time Nelson retired and Nebraska Republican Senator Mike Johanns is joined by a fellow Republican to represent the values of the people of Nebraska.

We took one Democrat seat back in North Dakota when Dorgan retired and they elected the popular Republican Governor John Hoeven to be their Senator and now in 2012 we have a chance to pick up their second Senate seat with Conrad announcing his retirement.  In January 2013, North Dakota could be represented by two Republican Senators along with Nebraska.

Next up is the Democrat Senator Johnson in South Dakota in 2014.  Then each of our six red states in the center of the Country will have two Republican Senators when he is defeated.

Looks to us like the 2012 election is already starting with the Senate Democrats voting to keep Obamacare. As a good friend and I have been saying since 2000 -- politics has become a virtual campaign with little stopping in between federal elections.

Pelosi: No bill without public option (Conrad: Senate won't pass bill with public option)

Politico, 8/20/09

Foreshadowing a House-Senate showdown, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday there is "no way" the House can pass a health care bill without a government-run insurance option.

Speaking at a news conference in San Francisco, Pelosi told reporters that a public option will "keep insurance companies honest."

“There’s no way I can pass a bill in the House of Representatives without a public option,” the California Democrat said, according to wire reports. "Unless someone comes up with a better idea, that's how we're going forth in the House."

Pelosi reportedly added: "If someone can come up with a better idea, let them put it on the table, we haven't heard that yet. ... So we're fighting very hard for the public option."

Obama on Thursday told liberal activists and a conservative talk show host that he continues to support a public option, but said it was only a piece of a broader health reform package and continues to signal that it's not a make-or-break issue for him.

Meantime, the Senate seems likely to drop the controversial plan from any bill it proposes. Sen. Kent Conrad (D-S.D.), a key negotiator on the Finance Committee, has emphatically said there aren't enough votes in the Senate to approve a bill with a government-run option.

"It's very clear that there are not the votes in the United States Senate for a public option," Conrad said Thursday on Fox Business Network.

Who will win this game of chicken?

NOTE: Pelosi and House Democrats don't care what the American people say since a majority of the people say no public option. Getting more obvious that a lot of Democrats do not represent their districts but believe they know what is best for everyone even when half of the 'everyone' oppose the OBAMACARE. Seniors are speaking out in large numbers against the bill but the House Democrats are not listening.

Now Obama wants the Senate to do the nuclear option on such an important bill that will only require 50 votes not 60. You have MA talking about going against their state law on how a Senator is replaced in order to make sure that Kennedy's replacement is appointed not elected. What is the rush to pass this OBAMACARE that the elected officials go against the will of the majority of Americans? What is in it for them should be the question everyone is asking?

The voters need to send any member of Congress or the Senate that does not vote for the will of their constituents to the Unemployment line in 2010. Every last member of the Democratic Socialist of America that occupies a seat in Congress/Senate needs defeated as well.

Seeds Of Socialism (IBD Exclusive Series: Government-Run Healthcare: A Prescription For Failure)

IBD Editorials

INVESTORS BUSINESS DAILY Staff

Health Care: As the president flips, then flops, on his government-run option, the words of leftist activists come back to haunt them. A "public option" was always a Trojan horse for socialized medicine.

It's never wise to underestimate Washington's capacity to succeed in doing harm, but right now it looks like the Obama administration has painted itself into a corner on health care legislation.
The public has caught on to the threat of a government-run health plan unfairly competing with the private plans that nearly 90% say they are happy with. The people know that artificially low premiums, coupled with onerous new regulations for private insurers, can destroy the private health insurance industry and leave us all with no choice but one big, federally managed medical DMV.

As the vox populi rises at town hells across America, the left is saying: No public option, no ObamaCare. Liberal congressmen and senators are getting an earful from the pro-single-payer crowd and may refuse to vote for a plan not containing that feature.

Fearing the defection of moderate Blue Dog Democrats, the administration began downplaying the importance of a public option. But after an uproar from its liberal base, the White House seems to have switched back.

Why is the left so wedded to the public option? Because the idea's purpose, from conception, was to trick the country into taking the road toward socialized medicine.
