Sen Carper: Health Care Bill 'Incomprehensibe" Gibberish (Update)
We brought you the reported version from CNS of the Senator Carper Interview and now thanks to CNS, we have the taped interview. Sen Carper should think about stepping down if he cannot comprehend bills on which he is casting his vote. The people of Delaware deserve better!
Obama’s Olympic failure will only add to doubts about his presidency
How much did this boondoggle cost the American taxpayers when our Government is running such a huge deficit in part due to the failed stimulus package of Obama? Why didn't Chicago pick up the tab? The amount of people the Obama's flew on AF planes is disgusting. We want to know when the Treasury gets paid back from Chicago because this was not the business of the US President. We are still waiting to hear about reimbursement to the Air Force for his political trips. How much did this boondoggle really cost? We have seen estimates of over $1M which wouldn't be a shock with all the planes, manpower, and equipment that was transported.
Would bet his meeting with General McCrystal was nothing more then a photo op so they could say that was part of the trip. Lecturing the General for 25 minutes while spending four+ hours with the IOC shows his lack of caring about the soldiers in Afghanistan that need more troops for support.
This is one of many disgusting moments since the uniformed electorate (hear that MSM) and ACORN voter fraud made Obama President, but this one may be the worst. First his wife's speech about sitting on her Dad's lap -- give us a break as we can count. We don't see many 20 year olds sitting on their Dad's lap. Then the teleprompter speech of Obama to the IOC. The man cannot even speak for five minutes without a teleprompter? That I, I, I speech was certainly not from the heart. It was an insult to the IOC to have him read his speech. He could have faxed it in and saved the taxpayer's money.
What was Obama doing making an office in the White House for the Chicago Olympics and getting Valerie Jarrett an exemption from the rules on hiring? More and more we are seeing the Chicago corruption creep into the WH but then look how many of his key advisors come from the Chicago Daley machine -- Axelrod, Emmanuel, Jarrett for starters.
Best thing that happened to Americans in our opionion was Rio getting the Olympics because the Chicago corruption would have bankrupted the Olympic Committee and the US Taxpayers would have been on the hook to save the games.

Barack Obama fails to make the case for Chicago to the IOC in Copenhagen
There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama’s presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence.
Chicago’s dismal showing yesterday, after Mr Obama’s personal, impassioned last-minute pitch, is a stunning humiliation for this President. It cannot be emphasised enough how this will feed the perception that on the world stage he looks good — but carries no heft.
It was only the Olympic Games, the White House will argue — not a high-stakes diplomatic gamble with North Korea. It is always worthwhile when Mr Obama sells America to the rest of the world, David Axelrod, his chief political adviser, said today. But that argument will fall on deaf ears in the US. Americans want their presidents to be winners.
Mr Obama was greeted — as usual — like a rock star by the IOC delegates in Copenhagen — then humiliated by them. Perception is reality. A narrow defeat for Chicago would have been acceptable — but the sheer scale of the defeat was a bombshell, and is a major blow for Mr Obama at a time when questions are being asked about his style of governance.
At home, it is difficult to turn on a television and not see Mr Obama giving a press conference, or an interview, or at a town hall rally, in his all-out effort to sell his troubled reform the US health insurance system. After three months of enormous exposure, Mr Obama has achieved this: the growing likelihood of ramming a Bill through Congress with — at most — just one Republican vote.
Abroad, Mr Obama promised in his Inauguration address to engage America’s enemies, and he has done just that. He has very little to show for it. Yes, Iran took part in bilateral talks with the US this week over its nuclear weapons programme — but that is something Tehran has wanted for years. There is still a very good chance that the meetings will prove to be an exercise in futility and a time-wasting ploy by Tehran.
Mr Obama also scrapped a plan for a missile defence shield in the Czech Republic and Poland, hoping to get in return Russian co-operation behind new sanctions against Tehran. There was optimism when President Medvedev said “sanctions are seldom productive, but they are sometimes inevitable”. Yet Vladimir Putin, and the Chinese, remain fiercely opposed to sanctions.
Meanwhile, America and its allies are being forced to witness a very public agonising by Mr Obama and his advisers over his Afghan strategy — six months after he announced that strategy.
This has all added to the perception that Mr Obama’s soaring rhetoric — which captured the imagination during last year’s election — is simply not enough when it comes to confronting the myriad challenges of the presidency. His spectacular Olympic failure will only add to that

Obama appointee ignored illicit sex: Why is Kevin Jennings still on the president's payroll?
The Washington Times nails Kevin Jennings with its Editorial and question asking why Jennings is still on the president's payroll. Very good question because Jennings should never have been hired with his background and his attitude on gay issues in the schools. Why does this Administration keep appointing radicals to various positions using taxpayer dollars when there is no Senate confirmation or accountability? How long is Jennings going to remain in his position?
We are waiting for more members of the media to ask the tough questions the Washington Times is asking. Crickets chirping once again. Have to cover Letterman's affairs with staffers -- more important.

Editorial
Five years ago, Kevin Jennings - who now is President Obama's "safe schools czar" - threatened to sue another teacher who called him "unethical" in a Washington Times news article for ignoring a legal requirement to report a student's homosexual relations with an "older man." Mr. Jennings' lawyer wrote a letter stating that there was "no factual basis whatsoever for [the] claim" and that he was not "aware of any sexual victimization of any student, or that he declined to report any sexual victimization at any time."
But if you are trying to cover something up, you should not be so foolish as to go on and blabber about it in speeches or in books. Mr. Jennings' defense collapsed last week after Fox News discovered an audio tape from 2000 of Mr. Jennings recalling his discussions with "15-year-old" Brewster "to use a condom." The tape provided more details on the student's age, indicating that a statutory rape had occurred. Mr. Jennings' lawyer's letter stated that Brewster was 16-years-old.
On Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Jennings released a written statement conceding, "I can see how I should have handled this situation differently." . . .

CURL: Obama distractions sideline Afghan plan
Since this article was written for publication this morning, Chicago came in 4th in the Olympic competition (Obama's pitch failed) and was the first city knocked out. He spent 25 minutes, yes that is minutes, talking to the Afghanistan Commander McChrystal on AF 1 versus over four hours meeting with the IOC and trying to smooze them for Chicago which was a waste of time and taxpayer's dollars to go to Copenhegan. Why didn't Chicago pick up the tab for the Obama's to go to Copenhagen since it wasn't a priority for the rest of the Country? Chicago would have taken graft to a whole new level if awarded the Olympics.
Looks like the Obama voters managed to elect not only someone unqualified for the position but one of the laziest President's in history who would rather jet around the globe and continue to vote present on Afghanistan. We found yesterday that the French and British wanted to confront Iran at the UN but Obama vetoed that idea as they didn't want anything to ruin the perception he had everything under control at the UN. Obama looks weaker by the day.
We also have learned that General McCrystal submitted his Afghanistan assessment to SecDef Gates at the end of August. It is now October and still nothing out of Pres Obama on Afghanistan while we have troops dying almost on a daily basis from roadside bombs, etc. Seems this President would rather go to fundraisers, play golf, jet off to Copenhegan for Chicago, and ignore major issues facing the United States rather then have to make a decision.

CURL: Obama distractions sideline Afghan plan
By Joseph Curl POLITICAL THEATER
Oct 2, 2009
Just after proclaiming October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month and just before departing for Copenhagen to lobby for his hometown as an Olympics host city, President Obama found the time Thursday to pop by the posh St. Regis Hotel a few blocks from the White House to hobnob with a gathering of Democratic governors and help raise some campaign cash.
But he didn't find time to say a word about the war in Afghanistan and what he plans to do about it. He didn't refer to the deteriorating situation there or take questions from the press corps - which he's done just once in five weeks.
The 125 or so attendees opened with arugula salad mixed with pecans. On golden embroidered tablecloths under giant crystal chandeliers, they proceeded to the baked salmon over risotto, finishing off the meal with small, delicate dessert canapes.
After meeting and greeting the eight governors and VIPs in a private reception, Mr. Obama assured the supportive crowd that the federal government is staying focused on the important issues.
"I know some folks say we should focus on fixing the economy instead of on health insurance reform," he said before falling into a familiar pitch on health care. He added that America has a "rare moment where we have a chance to seize our future."
In the past month, the president has found the time to play golf - four times. He's had links legend Arnold Palmer and other top golfers over to the White House. He's shot some hoops with friends and yukked it up with hockey's Pittsburgh Penguins.
He's celebrated Ramadan at the White House, eulogized newsman Walter Cronkite in New York City, attended several fundraisers (including Thursday afternoon's luncheon), appeared on David Letterman's late-night show (one of eight interviews), delivered two speeches to AFL-CIO rallies and dropped by the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial for a visit with his wife and daughters.
And the brief jaunt to Copenhagen to buttonhole members of the International Olympic Committee on behalf of Chicago's 2016 Olympics bid was Mr. Obama's seventh trip out of town since Sept. 1.
Yet still no decision on strategy for the war in Afghanistan.
The president was vacationing in Martha's Vineyard on Aug. 30 when Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal sent Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates a war assessment in which he said more U.S. troops - and a new U.S. strategy - are urgently needed to defeat a growing insurgency in Afghanistan.

Obama Gaffe of the Day: Obama, Gandhi, and MLK: A Love Story
OOPS! Obama or his people are obviously not into World History! Day by day we have to question if this is one reason Obama won't release his college records -- not very good grades or took easy courses. Eastern Civ obviously was not one of his areas of study.

Obama, Gandhi, and MLK: A Love Story
Posted by Erick Erickson

The Los Angeles Times brings us a delightful tidbit about the leader of the free world.
Obama released a statement regarding Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. In the statement, Obama says, “Americans owe an enormous measure of gratitude to the Mahatma. His teachings and ideals, shared with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his 1959 pilgrimage to India, transformed American society through our civil rights movement.”
There’s just one problem.
Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated in 1948.
Surely Obama’s statement was just poorly worded. But you would think the man who wants to set an example by banning texting while driving government vehicles would also want to set an example on proper grammar and writing.

Finance Committee Democrat Won’t Read Text of Health Bill
One more item that separates Democrats and Republicans on issues. Let's compare the comments of the Democrat Carper of Delaware and Republican Cornyn of Texas and see which one belongs in the Senate and which one is a lightweight and probably should have never been elected to the US Senate.
Our question for the US Senate: What are Senators doing voting on bills when they don't understand the language of the bill? Maybe our Senate candidates should be required to pass a reading comprehension test to run for office. Carper saying he cannot understand legislative language makes one wonder how he ever was elected not to mention how he was appointed to the Finance Committee. Since Carper cannot understand the bills he is voting on in the Finance Committee, maybe he and other Democrats that don't read bills might want to consider retiring and being replaced with someone with higher reading skills.
Sen Carper: “I don’t expect to actually read the legislative language because reading the legislative language is among the more confusing things I’ve ever read in my life,” Carper told CNSNews.com.What we have is a Democrat too lazy to try to understand Obamacare bill or has a reading comprehension problem sitting on the Finance Committee compared to a Republican that that wants to know every detail of the legislation. For Carper to say Senators and the American public would not understand the legislative language is an affront to the two Senate Doctors Coburn (R-OK) and Barrazzo (R-WY), other Senators, and the American public. Carper pushing not reading the bill makes one wonder what is in the bill they don't want us to see.
Carper described the type of language the actual text of the bill would finally be drafted in as "arcane," "confusing," "hard stuff to understand," and "incomprehensible." He likened it to the "gibberish" used in credit card disclosure forms.
Sen Cornyn: “The conceptual language is not good enough,” said Cornyn. “We’ve seen that there are side deals that have been cut, for example, with some special interest groups like the hospital association to hold them harmless from certain cuts that would impact how the CBO scores the bill or determines cost. So we need to know not only the conceptual language, we need to know the detailed legislative language, and we need to know what kind of secret deals have been cut on the side which would have an impact on how much this bill is going to cost and how it will affect health care in America.”

Finance Committee Democrat Won’t Read Text of Health Bill
Says Anyone Who Claims They’ll Understand It ‘Is Trying to Pull the Wool Over Our Eyes’
CNS News
10/02/09
Nicholas Ballasy
(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Thomas Carper (D.-Del.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, told CNSNews.com that he does not “expect” to read the actual legislative language of the committee’s health care bill because it is “confusing” and that anyone who claims they are going to read it and understand it is fooling people.
“I don’t expect to actually read the legislative language because reading the legislative language is among the more confusing things I’ve ever read in my life,” Carper told CNSNews.com.
Carper described the type of language the actual text of the bill would finally be drafted in as "arcane," "confusing," "hard stuff to understand," and "incomprehensible." He likened it to the "gibberish" used in credit card disclosure forms.
Last week, the Finance Committee considered an amendment offered by Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) that would have required the committee to post the full actual language of the proposed legislation online for at least 72 hours before holding a final committee vote on it. The committee defeated the amendment 13-10.
Sometime in the wee hours of this morning, according to the Associated Press, the Finance Committee finished work on its health-care bill. "It was past 2 a.m. in the East--and Obama's top health care adviser, Nancy-Ann DeParle in attendance--when Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., the committee chairman, announced that work had been completed on all sections of the legislation," said the AP.
Thus far, however, the committee has not produced the actual legislative text of the bill. Instead the senators have been working with “conceptual language”—or what some committee members call a “plain English” summary or description of the bill.
Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), who sits on the committee, told CNSNews.com on Thursday that the panel was just following its standard practice in working with a “plain language description” of the bill rather than an actual legislative text.
“It’s not just conceptual, it’s a plain language description of the various provisions of the bill is what the Senate Finance Committee has always done when it passes legislation and that is turned into legislative language which is what is presented to the full Senate for consideration,” said Bingaman.
But Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), who also serves on the committee, said the descriptive language the committee is working with is not good enough because things can get slipped into the legislation unseen.
“The conceptual language is not good enough,” said Cornyn.

French Atomic Pique -- Sarkozy unloads on Obama's 'virtual' disarmament reality
This article from The Wall Street Journal leaves us speechless. We want to thank them for printing the truth while most of the media stays silent. This comment from the article is the most shocking part of the Obama visit to the UN:
When are all Americans going to wake up to the person some of them elected for whatever reason including wanting to show they were not racist. What they thought they were getting and what we got are 180 degrees apart.
Obama is inexperienced, lazy, and his #1 priority of the Olympics over a decision on Afhanistan says all we need to know. Obama seems set on detroying the foreign relations of this Country, cannot make up his mind on Afghanistan -- so far voting present while he visits the Olympic Committee, and continues to send our Country into deep debt with his agenda for starters. One of his sponsors, George Soros, is going to get wealthier, e.g. funding offshore drilling in Brazil where Soros has a stake but tanking domestic oil production.
This is what you get when you elect someone who was brought up by Communist sympathizers whose mentor in his teen years was Communist and who has radicals for his friends. To this day members of the Beltway and other East Coast media continue to carry Obama's water. WHY?

This President is all about image and no substance. If anyone wanted proof, all they have to do is read this Wall Street Journal Article. Obama and his arrogance are harming friendships with our long time allies and playing right into the hands or Iran, Argentina, Cuba, Honduras, Russia and other oppressive regimes around the World. This is beyond disgusting because it is an OUTRAGE. We are sure that the MIA media will be covering this. (Sarcasm)

French Atomic Pique
Sarkozy unloads on Obama's 'virtual' disarmament reality.
President Obama wants a unified front against Iran, and to that end he stood together with Nicolas Sarkozy and Gordon Brown in Pittsburgh on Friday morning to reveal the news about Tehran's secret facility to build bomb-grade fuel. But now we hear that the French and British leaders were quietly seething on stage, annoyed by America's handling of the announcement.
Both countries wanted to confront Iran a day earlier at the United Nations. Mr. Obama was, after all, chairing a Security Council session devoted to nonproliferation. The latest evidence of Iran's illegal moves toward acquiring a nuclear weapon was in hand. With the world's leaders gathered in New York, the timing and venue would be a dramatic way to rally international opinion.
President Sarkozy in particular pushed hard. He had been "frustrated" for months about Mr. Obama's reluctance to confront Iran, a senior French government official told us, and saw an opportunity to change momentum. But the Administration told the French that it didn't want to "spoil the image of success" for Mr. Obama's debut at the U.N. and his homily calling for a world without nuclear weapons, according to the Paris daily Le Monde. So the Iran bombshell was pushed back a day to Pittsburgh, where the G-20 were meeting to discuss economic policy.
Le Monde's diplomatic correspondent, Natalie Nougayrède, reports that a draft of Mr. Sarkozy's speech to the Security Council Thursday included a section on Iran's latest deception. Forced to scrap that bit, the French President let his frustration show with undiplomatic gusto in his formal remarks, laying into what he called the "dream" of disarmament. The address takes on added meaning now that we know the backroom discussions.
"We are right to talk about the future," Mr. Sarkozy said, referring to the U.S. resolution on strengthening arms control treaties. "But the present comes before the future, and the present includes two major nuclear crises," i.e., Iran and North Korea. "We live in the real world, not in a virtual one." No prize for guessing into which world the Frenchman puts Mr. Obama.
"We say that we must reduce," he went on. "President Obama himself has said that he dreams of a world without nuclear weapons. Before our very eyes, two countries are doing exactly the opposite at this very moment. Since 2005, Iran has violated five Security Council Resolutions . . .
"I support America's 'extended hand.' But what have these proposals for dialogue produced for the international community? Nothing but more enriched uranium and more centrifuges. And last but not least, it has resulted in a statement by Iranian leaders calling for wiping off the map a Member of the United Nations. What are we to do? What conclusions are we to draw? At a certain moment hard facts will force us to make decisions."
We thought we'd never see the day when the President of France shows more resolve than America's Commander in Chief for confronting one of the gravest challenges to global security. But here we are.

Michelle Obama: It's a 'sacrifice' to travel to Europe to pitch for the Olympics. But I'm doing it for the kids. (BARF)
What is with Democrats and their continual mantra that it is "for the children" -- getting old. Olympics in Chicago are to make Obama friends wealthy from all the graft that will happen in the Daley machine and unions. Then they will run out of money and expect the US Taxpayer to bail them out. The Taxpayers spent $68,000 a hour to fly her separately to Europe for Chicago and it is all me, me, me by Michelle.

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her "dear friend" and "chit-chat buddy" Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow's visit by President Obama, is a "sacrifice" on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. "As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days," the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, "so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home."
"As first lady, as many of you know, I’ve made it a priority to bridge the gap between the White House and communities across D.C. and across the country," Mrs. Obama continued. "I’ve spent much of my first nine months trying to open the doors to the White House to kids who might not otherwise see themselves having access to these institutions, because that’s where I came from – communities like that where kids never dreamed that they could set foot in the White House, let alone live there…And Barack and I made a point of doing the same thing when we lived in Chicago – making the concerns of kids in all sorts of communities our own."

In June 2009 Patrick Gaspard, a Brooklyn-based, 41-year-old Democratic operative, became White House director of the Office of Political Affairs.
Patrick Gaspard’s official responsibility is to provide the president with an "accurate assessment of the political dynamics affecting the work of his administration" and to "work with powerbrokers around the country to help push the president’s agenda".
According to Rep. Gregory Meeks; He’s a low key, behind-the-scenes, no-fingerprints kind of guy. I need something, I call Patrick. And if he calls, it’s a big deal. He’s close to the president.”
Considerable attention has been focused on Gaspard's ties to the radical community group ACORN.
This post looks at Gaspard's ties to the groups behind ACORN-the groups that helped President Obama during his Chicago days-Democratic Socialists of America and the Communist Party offshoot Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

Obama appointee lauded NAMBLA figure
Day Three -- Investigation into Kevin Jennings, CZAR for Safe and Drug Free Schools. The more we learn about Jennings and his connections, the more obvious it is becoming that he should have nothing to do with education across America. He is too radical for the vast majority of parents who have children in school. Our children and the taxpayers deserve better. No wonder this man did not receive a regular President appointment subject to Senate approval. He NEVER would have passed the vetting. Who is vetting these radicals being paid by the American taxpayer?

Kevin Jennings, President Obama's Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug FreeSchools at the U.S. Department of Education, is in hot water this week for having failed to report that a 15-year-old sophomore student in his school had told him of having sex with an older man.
But failure to report what appeared to be a case of statuatory rape of a child may be the least of Jennings' worries. Lori Roman of Regular Folks United points to statements by Jennings a decade or more ago when he praised Harry Hay of the North American Association for Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), which promotes the legalization of sexual abuse of young boys by older men.
Roman provides damning details and links here. She also notes that Jennings wrote the forward "to a book called Queering Elementary Education. And another fellow you may have heard of wrote one of the endorsements on the book jacket—Bill Ayers." Ayers, of course, is the Weather Underground bomber from the 1960s who is just an "acquaintance" of Obama.
Every presidential administration ends up with scandals inspired by controversial appointees, but typically those tend to revolve around financial improprieties, conflicts of interest, or some other form of white-collar misconduct. For Obama, the scandals seem to be develping in a pattern of disclosures revolving around radical left ideology that raises questions about their fitness for any job in government.
And that in turn raises the inevitable question: Is nobody minding the White House personnel store?
