"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Obama enters War without notifying Congress

First Obama was silent on Libya's Gadhafi attacking the rebels and killing his own people. Then came some wishy washy comments that Gadhafi needs to stop after days of saying nothing. Members of Congress led by Senator McCain asked Obama to lend his support to a no-fly zone but silence was heard from Obama. The United Nations votes for a no-fly zone and Obama flies off for spring break to Rio spreading his cheer amidst demonstrators against him in Brazil. Then he tries to dub the visit a trade mission after he is criticized for the trip. Now Obama and his family are headed to Chili where more demonstrations await. Looks like the World's President as dubbed by world media when he was elected is not any better liked in foreign countries today than here in the States.

It defies belief that Obama sends our pilots into harm's way while in Rio with an audio recording announcing the action and thinks he is doing his job.  Never once was Congress mentioned in his recording.  Didn't even do it live.  Shows what he thinks of the Congress, our military, and the American people.  Then his recording is overshadowed by his Secretary of State Clinton's speech about Libya. Obama is not ready for prime-time even a little and we still have almost two more years to go of his term which is scary.

At once presumptuous and flippant, President Obama used a Saturday audio recording from Brazil to inform Americans he had authorized a third war -- a war in which America's role is unclear and the stated objectives are muddled.

Setting aside the wisdom of the intervention, Obama's entry into Libya's civil war is troubling on at least five counts. First is the legal and constitutional question. Second is the manner of Obama's announcement. Third is the complete disregard for public opinion and lack of debate. Fourth is the unclear role the United States will play in this coalition. Fifth is the lack of a clear endgame. Compounding all these problems is the lack of trust created by Obama's record of deception.

"Today, I authorized the armed forces of the United States to begin a limited military action in Libya," the president said. For him it was self-evident he had such authority. He gave no hint he would seek even ex post facto congressional approval. In fact, he never once mentioned Congress.
The audacity of Obama to announce to Americans he is sending our pilots into harm's way via a recording is one of the lowest things yet of his Administration. The man has no clue the difference between a President and a dictator.

After all of that, it is announced that the United States will not target Gadhafi. Within hours we learn his compound was targeted. Now the U.S. is expected to hand over control of the mission. When did we assume control?

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Sunday that the U.S. expects to turn control of the Libya military mission over to a coalition — probably headed either by the French and British or by NATO — “in a matter of days.”
Why would we believe the United States military would have a small role in this when most of the sophisticated weapon systems belong to the United States along with some of our planes being ordered to Aviano AB, Italy, in support of this effort?

Now we learn that Obama never contacted the Congress before launching this effort and has sent nothing to them since it commenced. Guess being in a foreign country made it easy for him to 'forget' to notify members of Congress. Obama gets worse not better by the day. Think of him every time I pay over $3.00 a gallon for gas and the thoughts are not nice.

When Obama sent 100 cruise missiles flying into Libya, we had a flashback remembering Clinton doing the same thing to tents in the desert as his retaliation. This Country better think long and hard before electing an inexperienced person to be President ever again.

Now we are in a 3rd undeclared war all going on at the same time Obama and the Democrats want a drastic cut in the Defense budget. He declared an end wartime action in Iraq but our military are still getting killed and we still have a large number of military supporting the effort to this day in Iraq. Afghanistan is still hot spot which we hear little about and now this incompetent President has sent our pilots into the fight in Libya after the United Nations approved but he never notified Congress. Despicable man!

Remember while you and I are paying well over $3.00 and some over $4.00 a gallon, President Obama and his family are jetting around South America for spring break using jet fuel which is a lot more expensive as he takes advantage of the perks if not the responsibility of being President.  At the same time he has virtually shut down drilling in the Gulf and other places in the United States with only issuing one oil permit in months so our price of gas will continue to rise.
