"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Can Herman Cain Answer a 3 a.m phone call? Trouble with Alcohol?

UPDATE:   We take two things from the latest story -- one that Block and the Koch Brothers are not doing a good job of research and two that Hannity didn't bother to have to research staff of his verify with Politico and was willing to take Block's comments as facts.  What kind of a pundit is that.  Both Rush and Hannity have left a lot to be desired during this primary but with Cain's defense and unwilling to check out facts a new low has been reached.  This would have been so simple to pick up the phone and verify it with Politico but guess Hannity wanted to have it as breaking news against Politico and that was the reason for the original story.  Guess he ignored the six sources that Politico had.  Wonder who has the most integrity now -- we vote for Politico who has sources and checks them out.
Cain aide wrongly insists they've 'confirmed' accuser's son works for POLITICO

Herman Cain campaign manager Mark Block, in an appearance with Sean Hannity on Fox News just now, insisted that a relative of the second woman to publicly accuse the candidate of sexual harassment in the 1990s works at POLITICO.
"Her son works at POLITICO," Block said of Karen Kraushaar, whose name POLITICO printed earlier today after other media outlets made her identity public.
"I've been hearing that all day - you've confirmed that now?" Hannity asked.
"We've confirmed that he does indeed work at POLITICO and that's his mother, yes," said Block.
Block appeared to be referring to former POLITICO reporter Josh Kraushaar, who left for another outlet, National Journal, in 2010.
Josh Kraushaar tweeted earlier in the day, apparently after getting questions, that he's in fact not related to Karen Kraushaar, and simply has the same last name.

Check out these are the headlines at the New York Times today and other papers around the Country this morning:
Then ask yourself why the voters of this country would elect an inexperienced person to be President like Herman Cain who just found out China has nukes.  Cain with his lack of integrity and being truthful on top of no experience is unqualified to be President.  Not only does he have no experience of being a Governor or a Mayor of a large city, we have been witnessing a meltdown of Cain at times that you wouldn't see of someone who has held office or they would have already been booted out of office.

Hillary Clinton asked the question if Obama would be ready to take that 3 am phone call.  She already knew the answer was NO and shame the voters who wanted to put a black in office didn't pay attention. Obama had little experience in the Government but he actually had more than Cain has now.  It is not like running a company -- it is much more complex and you are not the king or dictator who tells people what to do.

This politics of personal destruction in my opinion driven by the Koch Brothers for Cain is going past  annoying to disgusting.   They cannot even get their facts right.  They blamed Axelrod, the President's advisor, who has returned to Chicago, for having this woman who is a Republican and Tea Party person come forward this week.  OOPS!  Turns out it is David Axelrod, the civil trial attorney, who lived in the building.  I hope he sues the Cain campaign -- would be right up his alley for attempting to blame him for the woman stepping forward.  Cain never saw her but there are pictures of him and her at a Tea Party event .  OOPS!  That was twitted by someone at NRO as soon as Cain said he had never seen her before:
Daniel Foster
Herman, you didn't see her for the first time at the presser. There's pics of you hugging her.
That wasn't enough as the Cain campaign and supporters have proceeded to practice the politics of personal destruction of this woman but is is not working.  Then they moved on to the woman who settled the $45,000 law suit when she came out yesterday and spoke.  Horror of horrors there was a second sexual harassment lawsuit.  What difference does that make?

In the real world there are some real scumbags in position of power in the Government and outside the Government who love to hit on pretty women.  That's a fact.  I have known several that could have filed many sexual harassment complaints.  I actually admire the women who have had to nerve to file a complaint because it does take nerve and to come forward takes even more nerve as we are seeing.

All that is a huge problem in my opinion but that is not the largest problem.  Cain's biggest problem is alcohol and it is starting to makes sense now the reports on Perry drinking when he wasn't drinking in New Hampshire but that didn't stop someone from doing a video with splicing and dropping the story the media ran with.  Was it the Cain aka Koch Brothers camp covering up Cain's own alcohol problem?  Rove would have supported that effort.  It never made any sense to anyone who has ever been around Rick Perry, but seems it makes sense to someone who has been around Cain.  This article describes not only the alcohol abuse but also the arrogance of Cain that you are not to speak to him unless you are spoken to:
Herman Cain Says No To Pot, But What About His Troubling Alcohol Use?
Well, this is good to know, assuming you care at all. Unfortunately, I've had another question on my mind for some time, even if today is destined to be about Bimbo eruptions number 4 and number 5
Herman Cain on Jimmy Kimmel Live: Has Never Smoked Pot
I've highlighted this bit about Cain's curious use of alcohol before, first reported in the Washington Post. I've now had three people I know and trust raise the issue with me based upon their direct interactions with Cain, himself. Doesn't this bother anyone? The guy isn't supposed to be auditioning for "Mad Men," he's supposed to be running for POTUS, for heaven's sake.
His presidential bid was meant to be a lark, likely a gambit to increase speaking fees and book sales, perhaps to gain him a gig on cable news. At first, he was in on the joke, gaming the primary process and making up policies as he went along. He drank alcohol during public appearances, even in the morning. ... His staff celebrated his quirks in a don’t-feed-the-animals memo to those aides traveling in a car with the candidate: “Do not speak to him unless you are spoken to.”
Each person I've spoken to claims they felt the early-in-the-day drinking they observed impacted his affect, to one degree, or another. Being free-thinking, or Libertarian is one thing - I get it. But what does it say about the judgement of someone running for POTUS, that they'd think this was really okay? No doubt Mark Block would approve, what with his two DUI's on record. But, sorry, it's not okay in my book and it shouldn't be in Cain's, either. So, why would he do it? It's one reason why I always assumed he wasn't serious.
It also causes me to think about the two Herman Cain's we see. There's the happy, smiling, I love the world and the world loves me Herman Cain, and then there's a different side of him, quick to anger .... and even scream at reporters on occasion
I've never met the man and I'm in no position to suggest he has a problem with alcohol of some kind. But I do have some knowledge and experience in this area, both personally and from having worked with adolescents with substance abuse issues. When I see a guy who has been known to knock a couple back in the morning, wine or not, combined with what one could describe as mood swings, or a change of affect, my radar goes up.
What's especially puzzling to me is that while we spent a week discussing a Perry video in which it's now been established he wasn't drunk, why has no one ever gotten around to asking why someone running for POTUS would think it's wise, or smart, to be observed drinking so early in the morning on occasion? Something isn't adding up. Oh well, perhaps when we finally run out of bimbos, someone will get around to asking about this other curious habit of old Herm's. I'm not quite sure what to make of it myself at this point.

Will someone explain to me why Herman Cain is running with all his baggage?  It makes absolutely zero sense and he is dragging the Republican Party down with his continual 'in your face' and paid emails that make a lot of us want to scream.  His choice of words like 'witch hunt' and 'lynching' don't belong in this primary   especially when the Cain campaign aka Koch Brothers are doing a witch hunt as soon as they discover a woman's name.   I hope these women hold a press conference and joining them are the people who have been around Cain when he drinks and out him for what he is.

Forget the color of the skin which should make no difference, he is a candidate that is unqualified to be President for a host of reasons starting with experience and ending with he has not been that conservative in the past and in between those is a host of baggage and gaffes along with some outright lies.  Also tired of his throwing the race card, it is the media's fault,  Rick Perry's fault, or the Democrat's fault which he tosses freely around but at the end of the day there is only one person who needs to stand up and take the blame -- Herman Cain.

Cain needs to do the right thing and leave the race he never should have entered with the lack of experience and baggage.  Time to make the break before Cain's own politics of personal destruction doubles barrels back on him which is happening right now.  Don't expect that he will quit because he so arrogant that you don't speak to him unless you are spoken to as an aide.  He or the Koch Brothers hired a campaign manager with a checkered past including DUI's and being banned from political campaigns in Wisconsin for three years because of his voter suppression.  If Cain was a Democrat, the high and mighty pundits of the GOP and the far right would be demanding that he step down immediately but since he is a Republican they come to his defense.  Biggest bunch of hypocrites I have seen in a long time.

Is Cain ready to take that 3 a.m. phone call?  Not even close!

Is Cain alcoholic? What about what I see in photos -- bloodshot eyes. Am I seeing things?

I can understand a $400 bottle of wine, which is why I rarely drink. I have extremely expensive taste in wine and can't see drinking up the profits! And, yes, I've spent that much on a bottle of wine. But - that's another story....

Drinking could explain a lot. A person who would normally be quite honorable, upright, and proper can become a raging hormonal teenage if they have too much to drink - then draw a blank.
