Why is Right Leaning Media Spinning and Lying for Romney?

Will someone please tell me why so many in the media not only Fox News but CBS, The Hill, and other sites who are supposed to post facts are bringing us spin and lies now.  Finding more and more that Media Matters  is honest in their assessment of what is happening in this Presidential campaign while the far right Fact Check is MIA.

Looks like heads exploded on the right when the new job numbers came out from remarks made over the weekend because they will give no credit to Obama.  Even more disgusting is the realization that these numbers would be even lower for employment if it was not for the obstructionist Republicans in the House and Senate. Still cannot believe that Mary Matlin took on Paul Krugman and thought she could win.

The lies being told by the Conservative/Republican pundits/media make your head swim.  You start asking yourself why you are staying a Republican except to be a thorn in the side of the GOP and try to help take the Party back to center right which I am not sure will happen after the election.  When Mitt Romney, Karl Rove, Koch Brothers, Fox News, Roger Aisles and others decided to do a hostile takeover of the Republican Party feeding on the hate of the Far Right/Tea Party against Obama, they put ethics and honesty on the back burner as have so many elected Republicans and pundits.

Had to finally acknowledge after seeing the lies that this may be one of the most corrupt campaigns in the history of the Republican Party.  They will lie, cheat, and steal to win and use the Rove playbook to accuse the opponent of what they are doing.  Honesty and integrity have taken a real hit in today's Republican Party.

Looks at these links on Media Matters and you see the narrative -- job numbers are good so they must be bogus.  When you have to use Donald Trump as your expert on job numbers like Fox did yesterday, you are in trouble.

These links from Sunday tell a story that is not very pretty and shows why Republicans should not be in charge when they are this dishonest.  This isn't just spin which you expect in campaigns but downright dishonesty and conspiracy theories.  This is no different then the lies/myths told by Romney in the debate -- 27 lies/myths in 38 minutes.

• Jobs, Polls And Another Right-Wing Nervous Breakdown (Blog)

The bigger question is why is there a need for such elaborate schemes and conspiracies. Every four years a losing side emerges in the president campaign, but that losing side has never taken it upon itself to just make stuff up, connect invisible dots, and in general act like paranoid maniacs in effort to explain away their frustration.

The right-wing press, locked inside its airtight bubble, remains incapable of introspection or self-doubt. Instead, denial reigns. 

That's because many of the media players who insist pollsters are working in tandem with the White House to juice Obama's numbers, or that the nation's unemployment rate is now fabricated, are the same ones who have spent the last four years deriding Obama's presidency as an unmitigated disaster. But if Obama remains in good position to win re-election, what does that tell us about the hysterical anti-Obama cries that have filled the air since 2009? 

Unwilling to face those uncomfortable truths, the Fox-led brigade just keeps manufacturing one truly unbelievable explanation after another. (Pollsters are preemptively suppressing the vote!) Who knows what kind of absurd claims will be made during next four weeks of the campaign.
One thing is for sure though, this is what a collective nervous breakdown looks like.

• Fox Invents Claim That Obama Is Receiving Tens Of Millions Of Dollars From Foreign Donors (Blog)

Fox's Steve Doocy invented the claim that President Obama's reelection campaign may be receiving tens of millions of dollars from foreign sources in violation of federal law. 

Doocy based his allegation on a claim by a Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report that 43 percent of online traffic going to the Obama campaign website came from foreign countries as well as the fact that Obama has raised more than $270 million from small donors. 

But Doocy's guests from the GAI acknowledged they had no evidence to back up Doocy's claim.

• CBS News Covers For Romney Campaign's Tax Doublespeak (Blog)

CBS chief political correspondent John Dickerson disputed President Obama's description of Mitt Romney's tax plan as a "$5 trillion tax cut" because one of Romney's advisers suggested he would reduce the size of his proposed tax cuts if he could not pay for them. But Dickerson is ignoring the fact that Romney running mate Paul Ryan suggested last week that Romney would not reduce the size of his tax cuts because lowering taxes is his highest priority.

• Media Cite True Obama Statements To Claim "Both Candidates" Lied During Debate (Blog)

John Fund of National Review and Jonathan Karl of ABC News both used factual statements made by President Obama as examples to claim that he "stretched the truth" during the October 3 presidential debate. Fund cited Obama's comments about the power of an advisory board created by the health care reform law, while Karl pointed to Obama's statement that he has proposed a $4 trillion deficit reduction plan. In fact, both statements by President Obama during the debate were true, and have been supported by independent fact-checkers.

Conservative Media Attack Obama Campaign, Media For Pointing Out Romney Debate Falsehoods (Blog) (Oct 8)

In the minds of conservatives today, it looks like Obama is not allowed to tell the truth about the Romney lies.  Those pundits praising Romney for his huge win in the debates must not have comprehended that organizations would Fact Check and find all the Romney lies.  Now they are out in full attack against President Obama for stating the facts.   When you have to lie in a debate to win, you have won nothing except contempt and scorn once the Fact Checking is complete with people waking up to the fact Romney lied.  Is this what today's Republican Party wants to be known for in 2012 -- group of liars who refuse to tell the truth and then accuse their opponent of doing what they are doing?  They are so dishonest that I am having trouble finding one redeeming thing about the RNC and the Romney campaign.   The question is whether the GOP can regroup after the election or is it a lost cause that I am hearing more and more people state openly now.  When you hear it on a plane or in the terminal waiting for the plane from people you don't know who are fed up after being Republican for years, today's GOP has a major problem facing it after the election.

Do Nothing Congress on Recess Until the 10th of September

Will someone please explain to me why Congress gets so many days off?  Don't tell me it is to meet with their constituents as only a few Town Halls get scheduled every year.  Used to say it was a good thing for Congress to get out of DC but this group has accomplished so little, they should have stayed.

So here's your current Congress: Republicans are working to block or dismantle laws; Democrats are focusing on protecting what's already law; and no one is getting stuff done. As we wrote earlier this week, one of the most profound changes on Capitol Hill is the job requirement. It's no longer about bringing home deliverables to your state or congressional district (like roads, bridges, or new schools). Instead, it's about scoring ideological points and waging partisan crusades."

How many of you are getting a 5 week vacation in August or have had the additional days that the House has had off in 2012?  Bet the answer to that is zero, zip, nada!  As you can see below the August recess is on top of a lot of other days off.

The House is still holding up roads and bridges because they don't want to see jobs added before the November election in the states.  In Senate the GOP wants Repeal of the Affordable Healthcare Act by attaching it to the Cyber Security Bill which is a bill even the Tech community thinks we need.  As I have said before, what does the AHA have to do with Cybersecurity which is nothing.  It is part of the strategy of Minority Leader McConnell and his lapdogs except for a few to make sure no legislation is passed in the Senate that would help Obama in his reelection bid.  

This group of Republicans has used the filibuster more than anyone can remember by a lot.  They obviously don't care about doing the work of the American people as they do the work of Romney who is more important then the rest of us.  After all he is going to take out that evil President they have managed to demonize with lies, taking statements out of contexts, and mistruths to the stage, why would anyone believe what Republican leadership says in Congress?

Had to remove the quotes I had on this site attributed to Obama because the first ones when I looked  past the initial source, it turned out they were cherry picked by conservative sites to make his 'quotes' mean something entirely different then what he said as a whole statement.  Didn't bother wasting my time checking the rest.

Since January 2011, the whole purpose of the Republicans in the Congress has been to make sure they don't pass anything that would make Obama look good or add jobs so they can help Romney win.  They could care less about the American people especially the middle class, minorities, and women.  Republicans in the House are standing by their made up comments that the wealthy create the jobs which is not true today as the wealthy have sent jobs overseas so they can make more money with outsourcing.  Small business owners the majority of who makes less than $250,000 a year are the job creators today as manufacturing jobs have been outsourced.  House Republicans refuse to pass an extension of the Bush tax cuts for everyone making under $250,000 and for the first $250,000 for the wealthy who can take all kinds of deductions like Romney did for his dressage horse of $77,000 for expenses.  Wonder when I can figure out a way to take Chewie and Eddie off my income tax?  

Let's not forget that House Republicans have voted 33 times since taking over in January of 2011 to repeal Obamacare at a cost of $50 million.  What is a few million when you are doing the work of the Tea Party even though you know the bill is going to 'nowhere' just like the bridge to nowhere.

Then there is the issue of franking by members of Congress.   Remember how Republicans yelled at abuse of franking by Democrats to send out letters?  Now the Republican Conference has adopted the same waste of tax dollars to send out email if the letter received by my husband yesterday is any indication as it is nothing but a political advertisement disguised as form letter correspondence from the Congressman with his signature copied:

Obamacare*

• Creates $675 billion in new taxes
• Forces 3-5 million Americans off their employer-provided health insurance
• Cuts $500 billion from Medicare

The President's Economic Policy*

• Increases taxes by $4.3 trillion over the next 10 years if current tax rates expire
• Slashes defense spending by nearly $500 billion
• Increases spending by $1.5 trillion
• Adds $11 trillion to the national debt in the next decade

Legislation Passed by House Conservatives*

• Cuts spending by $5 trillion
• Approves the Keystone pipeline to create over 100,000 new jobs
• Reforms the tax code to eliminate unfair loopholes and keep American competitive
• Preserves vital defense capaibilities
• Eliminates unnecessary government regulations and costs that stifle job creation
• Lowers gas prices through an all-of-the-above energy strategy
• Repeals Obamacare to keep Americans in charge of our own health care decision
• Extends tax relief fo all American families and small business

This little note appears at the bottom of the form letter in small print (my bold):

It is provided as a service to constituents

The remainder of the letter is just feel good words but noted that there is not one source they have linked for facts.  The information comes from the House Republican/Conservative Conference which is rhetoric.  Nothing linked to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) findings which are facts.  Yet I am supposed to swallow all of this because it came from a Congressman?  House Republicans IMHO are wasting my tax dollars sending this form letter out all across America.

Yet these same people are wondering why like longtime Republicans like me have had it.  Look no further then the topic 'Legislation Passed by House Conservatives' not Republicans but Conservatives.  No wonder members of the Republican Party who are not arch conservatives are leaving Congress.  They are not wanted as part of the Cantor/Bachmann Tea Party Conservative conference.  America needs to wake up and realize going too far left or right is not good for the Country.  Actually my rights as a woman are being abused more by the Conservatives in the House then by the Democrats.

Noted in this letter that the 'Conservative' Conference failed to mention the Keystone Pipeline for the southern part which was approved by Obama.  I would like to see the magic hat they pulled the info for Obamacare from as well as now seeing the Defense Department is down to $500B not $1 trillion to be cut.  I bet a lot of us could find $50B to cut out of the defense budget for ten years running with little trouble.  They also neglected to say they want tax cuts extended for the wealthy.  I could go on but you get the point -- House Republicans used taxpayer dollars to send out what is essentially a campaign form letter.  The USPS could have used the money.

The ethics and integrity of Republicans has been replaced by hatred of this President where it has become more important to stall bills that would help Americans find jobs in order to make President Obama look bad on the economy then it is to work for all their constituents.  This hatred of the President in the House has made them refuse to work across the aisle for the good of all Americans.

IMHO the blame for this economy today not recovering like it should be lies right in the laps of a lot of Republicans in the House and Senate who are stalling legislation to get people back to work so Romney can defeat Obama.  Excuse me as I should have said Conservatives not Republicans since they are touting the work of 'Conservatives' not Republicans in this House.  My question is very simple:

"Why would we vote to send this group of do-nothing partisans back to Congress?"

Conservatives in Indiana stand a good chance today to have Conservative Congressman Mike Pence running for Governor and Conservative Richard Mourdock running for the US Senate from Indiana.  It is time that Indiana sends Lugar back to his DC area home for good as he cannot even vote in IN as he doesn't live there.  At 80 years old, the moderate Lugar needs to retire.  Indiana is not a moderate state and time for it rejoin the conservative coalition of states.

A win by Mourdock could signal that the establishment is going to have trouble taking over the Republican Party in Senate races and tossing out Conservatives.  One step at a time.  If you can spare a dime, please send to Mourdock at the link above and let's show the establishment they are in for a fight in the Senate races.  While the establishment brings in their big money men for Lugar, believe we can win with a lot of small donors investing in the Mourdock campaign.

Nebraska Senate race is between Conservative Ben Stenberg and the Establishment Republicans

This morning I received this email from the Senate Conservatives Fund about Ben Stenberg who is running for the US Senate in Nebraska.  It is getting more evident that the establishment does not want any more free-market conservatives in the Senate.  Why not?  What has happened to the Republican Party?  Thought we threw off the moderate/liberal influence in the Republican Party but I guess not.  Do establishment Republicans want conservatives out of the party because if they keep this up, they might get their wish, but for now we are staying and fighting.

If the establishment Republicans get their wish to evict us from the Party, then who is going to do the work as blue blood Republicans have never been known to get their hands dirty and actually work in a campaign.  Maybe they think all the money is going to make a difference.  Oklahomans showed with Dr. Coburn in 2004 when we sent him to the Senate that the grassroots counts in this part of the Country more than a well funded a candidate who is pushed by the establishment and the Chamber of Commerce.

What makes a difference is having candidates and their supporters dedicated and believing in the same values.  That is when you can get out the vote as big donors are still one vote from one person.  Better to have a lot of people in a campaign who believe in a candidate especially in Middle America's Heatland states here in Red Country America.  Interspersed with the large cities of Dallas/Fort Worth, Kansas City, and St. Louis are a lot of mid sized cities along your smaller cities and communities in the rural areas which tend to be conservative and believe in small government and free enterprise.  You can drive for miles out here and see only small towns.  That is something the Rockefeller Republicans have never understood that the people in Middle America are pretty independent minded and don't follow along like lemmings when the establishment tells us who we must support as a candidate.

President Reagan came from a small town in IL and grew up with the values of the Heartland of America and it showed as he became Governor of California and then President.  The Rockefeller Republicans tried their best with a dirty campaign to take him out in 1980 but it failed.  That same group is still at it in this election.

Don Stenberg is one of some really good candidates running for Senate being supported the Senate Conservatives Fund.  The establishment has a candidate in the race who didn't want to run but they didn't want another conservative in the Senate.  Time for conservatives across America to rise up and help Nebraskans send Don Stenberg to the US Senate to replace the Democrat Ben Nelson.  We can send a message that conservatives are not going away any time soon by sending more conservatives to the Senate.

Free-market conservative Don Stenberg is gaining momentum in the race for U.S. Senate and the corporate welfare lobby doesn't like it. 

Last week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed Stenberg's opponent in an effort to stop his surge. 

As you may know, the Chamber supported the failed stimulus program, the Wall Street bailout, the auto bailout, cash-for-clunkers, as well as many other corporate welfare schemes. The Chamber doesn't oppose government intervention in the marketplace. Instead, it often works to expand it to benefit one special interest over another.

The corporate welfare lobby in Washington wants to defeat Don Stenberg because he isn't afraid to stand up to them.

“Nebraskans don’t want a Wall Street Senator who makes backroom deals with big government special interests," Stenberg said. "They want a street fighter, someone who will work tirelessly to shrink the size of government.” 

He's right. Freedom-loving Americans in Nebraska and across the nation want a principled fighter in the Senate, and we can have one if we act now. 

If you have already contributed to Stenberg's campaign, please do so again. And if you haven't supported this man, now is the time to do it. Even if you can only give $25. Please give something. 

We have only three weeks to impact this race so it's now or never. Please don't let the establishment defeat this principled conservative and elect another posturing politician. We can win this race, but we must work together.

The Word From On High: Shut Up About Romney but Support him in November

This is one conservative who refuses to sit down and shut up about Romney.  I will not be bullied into keeping quiet so it is a waste of anyone's time.  Have been saying that for weeks and looks like I am not alone because when I found the video of Romney from ten years ago running away from Reagan and Republicans which I posted below, I also found this article which details what many of us have been told on our own sites and on sites where we have been posting for years which is to sit down, shut up, and support Romney in November.  The arrogance coming out of the Romney camp and the elite establishment in this election knows no bounds.

 Romney wouldn't be this far in the election if Obama was not the President.  The Koch Brothers/Crossroads controlled RNC keeps putting out how we must beat Obama or basically the world we know is coming to an end.  Scare tactics are not working well as witnessed by the primaries.  When it is Republican voters in more conservative areas, Romney cannot get to first base.  His biggest wins are in the same places that are Obama strongholds and yet the powers at be think he can win?

Romney himself said he is not worried about conservatives because they will be there to vote for him in November.  That is extremely arrogant especially after 2008 when many conservatives said that was the last time they would vote for a candidate they didn't like.  Looks like I am not the only one seeing the "Shut up About Romney" from the Elites, Romney supporters, and Pundits:

He Wants Us To Shut Up 

This is what is being pushed today in conservative media. At first, I thought it was just me receiving emails urging me to begin rallying around Romney “for the good of the party” and “for the good of the country.” Apparently, I’m not alone, and apparently, Mark Levin is receiving such emails too. I thank those of you who sent me such emails, but I’ll give you my answer here, in the open: I have deleted your emails with extreme prejudice. (That means that I deleted them, then undeleted them, and deleted them AGAIN…just for fun.) I actually printed one out that had been particularly annoying, and deleted it with a match. 

The Romney Campaign does not pick the nominee on this blog. Don’t email me as an activist for the Romney campaign, urging me to stop talking about Romney. I’m going to talk about Romney’s extensive failings until he wins or loses. I’m going to remind my readers of the truth about this candidate. While a blog is like an “etch-a-sketch,” or like Mitt Romney(apparently the same,) I am not. Conservatives don’t give up or give over that easily, and I’ll be damned before I’ll be prodded into it. 

Even tonight on the promo for the 8pm-er (Bill O’Reilly,) he was hollering about “stop[ping] this stuff.” I see. When Mitt’s campaign staffer came out and shoved both hooves down his own throat on CNN yesterday, we should ignore it, get beyond it, and stop talking about it, but when Newt Gingrich said two words about Mitt Romney’s activities at Bain Capital, we should pile on for weeks on end. Or, when Newt Gingrich’s ex-wife is trotted out to slam him by ABC News, we should talk about it for weeks on end. When Rick Santorum mentions the evils of pornography as an aside, that should dominate the headlines and stories for weeks. When Mitt Romney runs ads accusing his rivals of being less than conservative, while claiming he is, we should ignore Eric Fehrnstrom’s remarks to CNN. I see… 

Well, I don’t see! I don’t see why Mitt Romney is somehow exempt, or why it is that the flubs and foibles of his campaign should be ignored, while his own operatives in media spend time hammering away on his opponents. You Romney flacks(and I don’t here mean average Romney supporters, I mean his activist set) are full of yourselves lately, and it’s getting out of control, and there’s a reason your candidate’s negatives are on the steep incline: Your candidate has been repeatedly exposed as non-conservative, and yesterday’s remarks by Fehrnstrom are merely confirmations of what we’ve known. 

It’s time to deal with reality. The conservative base of the Republican party doesn’t want another establishment candidate. They may be divided over which of the others should be the anti-Mitt, but they’re sure it shouldn’t be him. The reason is simple, and despite the cajoling, I’m not going away, and I’m not going to forget. I’m going to remind my readers every time it strikes me to do so that Mitt Romney is fatally flawed. Today, Barack Obama provided an example of what he’s going to do to Romney over health-care, and it’s why Romney will abandon the issue of Obamacare come the Fall campaign. 

Get ready for it. Get ready for it to be the issue Romney avoids like the plague, and Obama is already testing the waters of his campaign on that basis. (More on that later.) The thing to realize is that the Romney campaign and all of its myriad establishment surrogates are making a big push to kill this process off before they get to the states in which he’ll be weak. More, the Etch-a-Sketch remark is doing substantial damage because it taps into what many conservatives worried about Romney from the outset: He’s ideologically flimsy at best, and I would argue simply vacuous. While none of the writers who contacted me on Thursday on Romney’s behalf admitted or purported to be part of the Romney official campaign, I noticed none of them were subscribers to this blog either. That’s the giveaway, along with the very narrow window in which all the emails arrived. 

Conservatives shouldn’t permit themselves to be bullied by the Romney campaign. You can bet I won’t.

This person is saying what a lot of us have been saying.  The idea that we are asked to shut up about the truth on Romney so he can win the nomination is ludicrous.  When did the powers at be in the Republican Party become Democrat lite?

We are at a crossroads in this election when it comes to whether conservatives will stay with the Republican Party when it is fast leaving many of us and fight for control or will decide it is time to leave the Party to the moderate to liberal Republicans and move on to form a new Conservative Party that actually has core values.  The jury is out but if I was betting, I would say the outcry from this primary is only going to get worse as time goes by and chances of conservatives finally having had it is only going to grow.  When a candidate does all the 'scorched earth' against fellow candidates, don't expect their supporters to fall in line for Romney because it is not going to happen.

What I find the most irritating is that the powers at be are telling voters in reliably red states to sit down and shut up about Romney while blue states who went Democrat in 2008 choose our nominee.  What kind of Republican Party is that?  

Maybe the idea for a bumperstrip by one of my friends is correct:  Republicans for Johnson.  I can actually see myself supporting former NM Governor Gary Johnson who was a Republican until the powers at be took him out and treated him like trash.  Kind of like they are doing to the grassroots as well.  BTW, those Tea Party people you heard about in IL that support Romney, willing to bet they are not the conservative Tea Party members.  Then we have the conservative media who has not been an honest broker in this primary except for a few like Mark Levin who will not be silenced.

Establishment Candidate Romney Steps in It!

First Romney said at the debate on Sunday morning that you need to be rich to run for President which just showed voters that what we have been saying that he considers himself an elitist and those of us in the Middle Class trash.  Attend anything Romney and watch him go for the big donors and others are there only for numbers.  He is definitely not a people person and confirmed it in a speech to the business leaders in NH when he talks about loving to fire people.  Are Republicans getting a clue why so many of us from the wars of 2008 cannot stand Romney and will not vote for him?  I doubt if the establishment Republicans can look past their blue noses to see what regular American Republican conservatives have been telling them.  We are a necessary nuisance to them.

Are the Republican voters of NH going to wake up to vote in big numbers tomorrow or are the independent (many former NH democrats are independent) voters who take Republican ballots to vote in our primary going to choose our candidate like they did in Iowa.  Isn't it great that the first two states allow Independents to help pick our nominee and the OK GOP Chairman thinks in an email it is great that it brings in new voters.  Someone was not well vetted and doesn't understand a lot of those new voters would never be Republican and out to create havoc.

Let's take Iowa, for example. The Iowa Caucus is now a wrap with a Romney, Santorum, Paul photo finish. There were quotes from "Party insiders" in Iowa and nationally that were concerned about Ron Paul's support among independents and Democrats in the Hawkeye state. Excuse me for asking the question that some within our Party won't like, but is it not our job to move Independents and Democrats in the Republican column?

When discussing Dr. Paul’s base or Tea Party voters for that matter, many scream "but they aren't Republicans!" Folks, if there's one thing I've learned from being the Chairman of a partisan political party it's that we are not always going to see eye to eye. Same goes for the Democrats. Nearly 60% of Independents voting in Iowa this year were first time caucus goers. Why again is that a bad thing? If we don't welcome these disenfranchised Independents and Democrats (many of whom are young) into the Republican Party then I'm terribly concerned for the future of it.

We have no clue if that 60% of independents voting in Iowa even lived in Iowa as the Iowa GOP Chair refuses to allow candidates to see the registrations.  Willing to bet that Iowa will never see a large portion of them vote again.  If this is an example of the GOP Chairs across the Country, then no wonder the RNC is so poorly run.  Guess this chair never heard of voter fraud by Democrats that is being used by some Republicans as well to get their candidates elected.

How can you allow independents to pick your candidate?  Next thing you know the OK GOP will want to open up Oklahoma.  Why don't we make this very simple and ask the Democrats who we should nominate and be done with primaries.  Anyone who doesn't think that a large portion of those independents/democrats voting in our primaries are up to no good is not wet behind the ears and doesn't understand hardball politics and how it is played.

Thought 2008 was bad but this election in 2012 is even worse.  What happened to the integrity of the voting process to elect our Republican nominee.  Putting out bad facts on websites that are supposed to tell you the rules of each state is wrong.  Word on the street is that the information came from the RNC which I cannot verify but since their debates were aimed to make Romney look good, I would not be shocked if they gave out wrong information on purpose.

To top it all off, I have an email from the RNC asking me to join in 2012.  That is not going to happen and frankly those who know me are going to be shocked when I say that just maybe conservatives need to start thinking about having their own Party and tell the GOP to pound salt.  I have been a big proponent of the GOP for years watching them since the days after Reagan favor Big Government over small government as we saw culminate during the Bush 41 years.  Just maybe this election is the watershed for many Conservative Republicans like me.

We have people in the House and Senate who are for Big Government and that needs to end.  I have also been about reelecting incumbents.  That is also disappearing this time -- will only vote for small government conservatives not big government ones who pretend to be Republican conservatives.  Not holding my nose any more -- it is over.  When you get Republicans to actually answer they are fed up with the Republican Party like they did with Rasmussen, the powers at be should be worried.  They seem like they could care less as they are going to get their candidate Romney nominated even if he loses because then Jeb Bush can run in 2016.

Another complaint is the media picking the flavor of the week.  Santorum endorsed Specter over Toomey and believes in gun control and many other liberal causes.  Will someone explain how some so-called evangelicals can support him?  Guess the 2nd amendment means zero, zip, nada to them and pro-life means everything.  Note to candidates:  If you want the evangelical vote of Ralph Reed, Richard Land, and others just pretend to be pro-life as you can be pretty liberal on everything else and they will still support you.

At the end of the day, there are a lot of unhappy Republican activists.  We are not talking Tea Party but the Republican grassroots who get out and work elections.  We have been taken foregranted for too many years that we will always be there to volunteer.  This is one person if you are not conservative, don't even bother asking because I am not donating and I am not working your campaigns.  I am only one person but there are a lot of conservatives with the same mindset.

The Northeast liberal Republican establishment is alive and well run by the former President  who comes from Maine but chose to live in Houston.  Problem is that he never left that establishment mentality of the northeast behind.  All he knows is dirty, underhanded politics that he has used for years.  Since 1980 I have heard the rumors of the Bush faction threatening to leave the GOP in 1980 when Reagan got the nomination and now believe it was true.

There is only one candidate left in the race who is not associated with the inside the beltway crowd and that is Rick Perry.  The Rove factions have badly wounded him and the only hope is that the voters of South Carolina will see through the rhetoric but since they elected Hailey as Governor, don't have much hope that they will stand tall and return to their conservative roots.  Huntsman was tied to Obama early on and pretty much taken out of the nomination battle because he was willing to go after Romney.  What does that say about the Mormon Church influence on the primary?  Rove is not Mormon as far as we know but he was raised in Utah as a teenager which makes you wonder.

My bottom line and that of a lot of conservative Republicans is that we are willing to listen to people wanting to start a 3rd Party of conservatives who adhere to the smaller government approach and will stand tall if Romney is the nominee against his flip flops and his moderate to liberal agenda.  We will not sell out again for a moderate to liberal candidate.  Both Romney and Obama are bought and paid for by Wall Street which is what establishment Republicans seem to like.

We need to concentrate on the Keeping the House and Taking the Senate with good conservative candidates and throw out the Big Government types.  Let's get more Republicans in the Senate and elect a new Republican leader of the Senate.  Just maybe a Conservative Party with small government principles could start electing members to Congress because the principles of the Republican Party on smaller government have been left in the trash heap of history by too many 'go along to get along' types who favor Big Government and the Nanny State.

We have given up on New Hampshire which is turning bluer in each Presidential election but just maybe Republicans in South Carolina will wake up and realize they are the ONLY state in early voting who voted Republican for President in 2008 and will take their voting seriously.  Time will tell.

The Journal Editorial Review: Deficit Commission -- Paul Ryan: What Conservatives are Missing!

The first part of the The Journal Editorial Review with Paul Gigot video from The Wall Street Journal, November 20, 2010, covers the Deficit Commission where Paul Ryan sits as a member. Cong Paul Ryan (R-WI) gives the real facts on Tax Reform by the Deficit Commission. It turns out it is not about raising taxes that we are hearing from some conservative sites and pundits unless you are talking about no mortgage deduction on a 2nd home or a mortgage over $500,000 for starters.  Seems they completely missed the recommendation to lower tax rates on business and individuals with the top rate of individuals going to 28%.

Ryan as a member of the Commission and doesn't like everything and doesn't expect lower tax rates to get approval from Obama because he is a class warfare person who believes in redistributing the wealth of Americans. Ryan said Republicans need to be a pro-growth, low tax party and what the Republicans plans are for the 112th Congress beginning on January 3, 2011. Obama didn't want Medicare or Medicaid looked at by this Commission so they ignored these programs. IMO best guess is because he didn't want Obamacare looked at with a fine toothed comb especially with Paul Ryan sitting on the Commission.

Congressman Paul Ryan takes over the Chairman of the Budget Committee in January and gives his plans on the second part of this video. Gigot reveals that Dave Camp (R-MI) will be taking over as Chairman of Ways and Means which writes the Tax Laws and is made of the same cloth as Paul Ryan. Things should get very interesting House starting on January 3rd.

It is time that we start questioning some of the Conservative websites along with the liberal ones and ask what is in it for them when they come out with less than truthful information. One thing is to get contributions to continue their fight from both sides. Be very wary of any site charging to send a fax as this is a great way to raise money for the people who run the site.  It pains me to see the same tactics being used by some members of the right that the left has used.

Anyone can log onto the sites of the Houseor Senate to find the websites of their member of Congress or Senators, click on their link, and leave their comment or call their office if you don't like something. Personal contact with the member from their constituent is much better than a petition signed by many people not in their district or state. Don't forget if you are going to criticize a member be prepared to thank them when they do the right thing. Even if you don't like something they have done, being rude is not going to get you very far. Be reasoned with your complaint because the person answering the phone is not the Member of Congress.

Don't know about anyone else but this 'sky is falling' mentality from some conservative websites is getting really annoying. So many emails I am getting have no basis in fact. On Friday received numerous emails saying a bill was about to be passed in the Senate and send faxes at their website, but the bill has never left Committee.

Then we have the threats now from National Tea Party people along with some Conservatives to do as they say or else. That's beyond annoying and starting a blow back from a lot of individual Tea Party people along with Republican grassroots. What we saw out of the Tea Party Patriots sending out private cell phone numbers and email accounts of incoming Freshman was so wrong and so arrogant. These people talk about elitist, then they should look in the mirror.

The holidays are coming up and time for some people to chill out and not expect to see the bogeyman around every corner. Enjoy the holidays, spend time with your family, and remember on January 3rd, 2011, a new day dawns as the 112th Congress is sworn into office.
