"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Obama No Questions at Press Freedom Event

Words defy this action by Obama. A press freedom event signing and Obama takes
ZERO questions. It has been over six months since the 'most transparent administration ever' held a press conference. At the event at NASA we learned after the event that audience was filled with Obama supporters not NASA employees.

When are members of the mainstream media other then Major Garrett, Jake Tapper, and Chip Reid going to go after Obama on not holding a press conference. They sure went after President Bush which we thought was legit. Three reporters stand up to the Press Secretary Gibbs and that's it for the most part. Other mainstream media act like little lemmings following Obama around.

Julie Mason - Obama: No questions at press freedom event

President Obama today signed the Daniel Pearl Freedom of the Press Act, a measure that gives the federal government an oversight role in tracking international press freedom issues. The pool-only event went down in the Oval, where Obama was asked if he would entertain some questions -- specifically about BP.

"Speaking of press freedoms," ventured Chip Reid of CBS News.

"You're certainly free to ask the question," Obama said. "I won't be answering, I'm not doing a press conference today, but we'll be seeing you in the course of the week."
