"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Dream Act Lost while Don't Ask Don't Tell Passed.

It was a mixed bag today in the Senate since the Grinches Reid and Pelosi are still hard at work trying to stop members from enjoying the Christmas holidays.  Dream Act was important to defeat from the standpoint that it opened the door for amnesty.  Something we are having a hard time figuring out is that members of the military from foreign countries who serve our Country do have a chance to become citizens so was that a red herring to open the door to amnesty.  If it was, it failed.

Tip for the Day:  You can still order from Amazon and get the presents on time.  It was great to shop on line for most of the items and avoid the lines at the malls.  Looks to me like they didn't add a lot of people in the stores this year with the length of the lines.  That doesn't even account for shopping at Amazon and saving sales tax.  Some members of the Oklahoma Legislature think we should voluntarily pay the sales tax -- no thanks.  Not the way they waste our tax dollars.  If you haven't bought Christmas and you don't want to stand in line, buy on-line!

We think it is time for Congress to go home after they pass the continuing resolution into late January or February and quit spending money and passing their feel good bills.  It really is time for Congress to spend time with their family at this Christmas season.  Grinches need to stop trying to steal Christmas for their own agenda!
