"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Open Letter to the Republican National Committee following a RNC Email

What is baffling to a lot of us are the lies that the RNC Chair and the Romney campaign tell without flinching even when confronted with Fact Check. Do you think all Republicans are stupid and anti-American who don't support Romney because that is how this email (below) comes across to those of us with brains who can think and research? Cannot believe you are still using the welfare claim against Obama that has been debunked time and time again by Fact Check.  Now believe the RNC is serious that fact checking doesn't matter just like it is ignored by the candidates Romney/Ryan.  Truth and integrity has taken a real hit this time.

FYI will not be told what to think by the conservative pundits who are some of the biggest spinners/outright liars in this election. Their over the top rhetoric may play well with the hard right but it does not play with center right Republicans who have had it starting in the primaries where rules were different for say FL (winner take all) and OK (proportion) when we both voted before 1 April. You may think that people didn't notice but making sure the wealthy Romney won the primary could be the downfall of the Republican Party that has been center-right for years.  Romney is not a likeable person and comes across as arrogant even in Town Halls and interviews. Went to a Town Hall in 2008 and said NEVER again.  Do not like arrogant people and that is exactly how Romney comes across when not trying to pander.

In the RNC email today, it says if you support Obama, you have been bamboozled and you are not a cogent American citizen?  HUH?  Now those of us Republicans who don't swallow the Romney koolaid are too stupid to know what we are doing?  Unlike the author of this article, many of us have done the research to find the facts on Obama which are counter to what the RNC and the Romney camp wants us to think.  Obama is much more centrist then he is given credit for and has grown in the job but that goes against the Romney GOP narrative.
Bamboozled by Obama“How can any cogent American citizen possibly even consider voting for Barack Obama now? That’s what lots of  conservatives and moderates are asking each other, again and again. It’s completely baffling, to those who grew up with any sort of sense of what America means and what the American character traditionally has been, that anybody can look at the man’s record and want more of the same.” (Quinn Hillyer, “Obama’s Dangerous and Disastrous Presidency: Name a Single Thing That Has Improved Under His Rule,” Spectator, 9/19/2012)
Articles and comments like this sent out by the RNC are making some of us rethink how we are going to vote for down ticket races now.  I don't take kindly to those remarks I have highlighted in red.  I have received emails from the Obama campaign and listened to the head of the DNC -- they are not calling people who don't support them un-American which this article does to us by saying we don't have a sense of what America means.  I am sick and tired the use of words that basically say Obama is not an American and that is exactly what I take out of this paragraph along with his supporters not understanding America.  Romney's Dad was born in Mexico as he was the son of a man who had five wives who left Utah before it became a state to move to Mexico with other polygamist.  Yet Romney and Republicans attack Obama?

This longtime Republican is voting for Obama because I know where he stands -- throw a dart to see where Romney stands from windows that he wants to open on airplanes to no insurance - use the ER to the 47% to the 100% to dissing most of us who would normally vote Republican. Saying he wants to grow the military when I have been around it most of my adult life is ludicrous. There are all kinds of cuts that can be made but then it would affect his wealthy donor base.

RNC is playing with fire with taking the center right foregranted while playing to the hard right every step of the way. Many of us are questioning why we are Republican today because we are not hard right and find the attack on women's health issues disgusting by white Republican males. Same thing for voter suppression which is being pushed by Republicans. Anyone who has been around elections knows the biggest voter fraud comes from absentee ballots not in person voting but that didn't stop Republicans from making stupid remarks like the leader in the PA House that the new law just got Romney PA. Disgusting and despicable.

Then there is the Romney stacking of the audience first at the NAACP and then Univision. It is obvious that Romney and the RNC don't play by rules but expect everyone else to follow them. His remarks on the Libyan consulate attack which left four Americans dead was without precedence in all the years of Presidential politics but once again Romney does not follow precedent or rules. No candidate attacks a sitting President during a crises like we saw Romney and then to be applauded by the conservative media made me sick I was even a Republican.

Went into this election supporting all Republicans except Romney.  After learning of the meeting the night of the Inauguration to plan to make Obama a one-term President by obstructing his agenda and refusing to work with the President on bills that could help our employment and economy leaves me cold.  When the GOP Senate stopped the veterans bill this month, it leaves me hoping that the GOP does not take the Senate and the House is very close in numbers so the two sides have to work together and stop the GOP obstruction we have been seeing from the right led by the Tea Party in the House and Senate. The GOP owes that to the American people or the RNC is going to be heading a Party of lot less people including this one.

If the Republican Party refuses to move back to center right and lose all the social issues like definition of rape and personhood,  then I am gone after being a loyal Republican my whole life going back to being a teenager passing our info for Barry Goldwater in Ohio. I cannot remain in a Party where the extremists run the Party which we are seeing from the Tea Party and Koch Brothers/Rove who use them today.

There is a sign in my yard that reads "Another Republican for Paula Roberts" because the GOP is trying to re-elect a conscientious objector again to the OK House. I will never cast my vote for someone who used CO status so he could continue his college education and not be deployed. Bottom line is the taxpayers paid for his education through the Guard but he did not fulfill his commitment. Yet we are expected as Republicans to support him -- not happening.

No thanks to Romney -- wouldn't vote for him in 2008 and definitely will not vote for the liar in 2012.  This Republican joined Republicans for Obama for a reason -- they are common sense Republicans who believe the Party has gone way too far to the hard right and so do I!

P.S. Below is the RNC version of the truth with my comments in red disagreeing with them.  Cannot believe they are still bringing up the welfare deal or the redistribution by Obama both of which have been debunked over and over again.  All this email proves is that the RNC lost its integrity and honesty when they elected Priebus over Steele.  I thought the RNC was really bad in 2000 but this one is much worse with the GOP Platform, the new Rules, their attacks on long time Republicans and putting the hard right Tea Party front and center as the voice of the GOP.

Next time I write and ask to be taken off a distribution list maybe they will listen!

Volume 84 -- September 25, 2012

As we work together to defeat Barack Obama and elect Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and Republican candidates up and down the ticket in November, Victory Insider continues to keep you informed about Campaign 2012 and our Party’s fight for commonsense conservative policies in Washington. Thank you again for all you do for the RNC!

2012 ELECTION COUNTDOWN (filled with LIES):

Election Day: 42 Days
In this week’s installment:
A Clear Choice

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus makes it perfectly clear -- when voters go to the polls in November, they’ll be voting for either Barack Obama’s vision of Big Government and wealth redistribution (Note: RNC and Romney left off the next sentence of what Obama said as a State Senator which changed the meaning - imagine that!  Four more Pinocchios) or Mitt Romney’s commitment to prosperity and freedom for America. (Reince Priebus, “Priebus Opinion: It’s ‘Redistribution’ or American Dream,” Politico, 9/20/2012)

GOP Ground Game Update
RNC Political Director Rick Wiley gives the inside scoop on our Party’s historic effort to maximize the vote for Mitt Romney and GOP candidates up and down the ticket nationwide. The final stretch of Campaign 2012 is here, and the RNC is ready to support Republican victories across America. (Rick Wiley, “GOP Blog: Ground Game Update,” GOP.com, 9/24/12)  (Note:  They are still begging for volunteers in my state and others from people I have talked with -- there is no excitement with Romney as the candidate that any of us can see -- no Romney signs yet I see Obama signs at homes I delivered McCain/Palin the last time)

Telling It Straight
“The headlines this weekend were all about the boos Paul Ryan elicited on Friday when he addressed the AARP, the self-styled seniors’ lobby. The herd of independent media minds missed the real story, which is that the Republican Vice Presidential nominee went into the heart of the entitlement culture, told some hard truths, and even won applause for doing so.” (Editorial, “Ryan at the AARP: The Real Story is That He Didn’t Trim His Ideas and Still Won Applause,” Wall Street Journal, 9/23/2012) (Note:  WSJ is owned by Murdoch and anyone with a brain knows that they have been on the Romney bandwagon for sometime.  The people interviewed from AARP randomly by local press tell a different story then the WSJ -- they applauded as he entered and left the stage)

Giving Back
“Mitt Romney has, in the past two years, paid almost $5 million in taxes while giving away $7 million. And, as he said, he has paid the taxes he was supposed to pay according to the laws of the United States, which is all that is required -- legally, morally and practically -- of anyone… The release of these tax records leaves no doubt about one thing: Mitt Romney is an extraordinarily, remarkably, astonishingly generous man. A good man. Maybe even a great man.” (John Podhoretz, Romney the Giver: The Big News From Tax Returns,” New York Post, 9/21/2012)  (Note:  This made me want to throw up -- his donations are to the Mormon Church who is building commercial enterprises like malls.  The very fact it might help fund the Mormons who come to my door who treat me like I am not a Christian because I am not Mormon does not endear Romney to me at all.  Not to mention the donations come off the income tax which seems to be forgotten as he gave more to charity then paid in taxes and then there is the $77,000 expense for the dressage horse  -- Isn't the NY Post also owned by Murdoch?)
Inside Romney HQ

Townhall’s Guy Benson gets an inside look at the Romney campaign headquarters in Boston and hears first-hand how Governor Romney’s team is working to defeat Barack Obama in November. (Guy Benson, “Inside Team Romney’s Plan to Win,” Townhall, 9/18/2012)   (Note:  The wheels are coming off the bus with the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing and they are trying to sell this?)

Bamboozled by Obama
“How can any cogent American citizen possibly even consider voting for Barack Obama now? That’s what lots of conservatives and moderates are asking each other, again and again. It’s completely baffling, to those who grew up with any sort of sense of what America means and what the American character traditionally has been, that anybody can look at the man’s record and want more of the same.” (Quinn Hillyer, “Obama’s Dangerous and Disastrous Presidency: Name a Single Thing That Has Improved Under His Rule,” Spectator, 9/19/2012) (Note:  Covered that above)

Stupid Democrat Tricks
While Barack Obama is busy appearing on late night comedy shows, the RNC Research team has been compiling the “Top Ten” list that everyone needs to hear. (RNC Research, “Obama’s Top Ten Failed Policies: The Top Ten They Won’t Show at Obama’s Appearance on Letterman,” GOP.com, 9/18/2012)  (Note:  Bet the Romney list is even longer -- RNC Research used to be really good but noticed it had fallen off considerably since 2004 when they were spot on with facts.  Half of what you see today is spin and any fact checker can tear them apart)

Killing Coal Jobs
“'In West Virginia, fellow Republican Rep. Shelley Moore Capito said her constituents want to stay in their home state and raise their families, ‘but the president’s extreme policies are cripplingly entire towns and making it harder for workers to find jobs.’” (Vicki Smith, "Alpha closing 8 mines, cutting 1,200 jobs in all,” Associated Press, 9/18/2012)   (Note:  Where is the mention of the Coal Miners who had to take the day off with no pay who were mandated to attend and stand behind Romney?  Or how about a Romney ad using coal miners without their permission?  Natural Gas is much cleaner IMHO and doesn't contribute to the pollution like coal)

ObamaCare Cost Explosion

“Current federal regulations plus those coming under Obamacare will cost American taxpayers and businesses $1.8 trillion annually, more than twenty times the $88 billion the administration estimates, according to a new roundup provided to Secrets from the libertarian Competitive Enterprise Institute." (Paul Bedard, “Washington Secrets:$1.8 Trillion Shock: Obama Regs Cost 20-times Estimate,” Washington Examiner, 9/20/2012)  (Washington Examiner and Facts don't like each other.  (Note:  (Note:  Right-wing media are falsely claiming that a recent report by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) shows that the cost of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has doubled since CBO's estimate in 2010. In fact, CBO's analysis actually showed that the insurance coverage provisions of the health care law will cost less than originally estimated.)

By His Own Admission
After President Obama admitted that he can’t change Washington -- even though that was the central promise of his campaign four years ago, the RNC released this new video. Maybe he’s gotten too cozy with the lobbyists he hired in the White House or wasted too many taxpayer dollars on failed green energy companies like Solyndra? (Note:  At least Obama admits his is wrong -- Mitt Romney and looks like Priebus are members of the 'no apologies' crowd)

Great Expectations?
“One of the chief reasons the media is so mistaken in their zeal to proclaim Obama the election winner is that most of the polls they’re basing their predictions on are wildly inflating Democrat turnout. The overwhelming majority of media polls are assuming an electorate that is at least as Democrat as the one in 2008, with many polls assuming a higher Democrat turnout. This is just daft. The latest CBS poll of 3 swing states is the most recent to show that GOP has a huge turnout advantage over Democrats.” (Mike Flynn, “CBS Poll: GOP Has Huge Voter Turnout Edge Over Dems,” Breitbart, 9/19/2012)  (Note:  Is the RNC counting on voter suppression to keep the Dem vote totals lower?  Have they not taken a look at the breakout of GOP/Indy/DNC?  Looks like they are also using Rasmussen numbers which are notorious for oversampling Republicans as he is part of the Rove/Ailes group.  One pollster is using 39% Dems; 32% GOP and 29% Indy -- you cannot use 2010 because that was a turnout anomaly -- how much absentee ballot fraud was there in that election that has caused Republicans to want to purge voting rolls so much?)

Dependency Agenda
“A new report from the Congressional Research Service obtained by the Washington Examiner suggests that the administration’s suspension of a separate welfare work requirement has already helped explode the number of able-bodied Americans on food stamps." (Phillip Klein, “CRS Report: Number of Able-bodied Adults on Food Stamps Doubled After Obama Suspended Work Requirement,” Washington Examiner, 9/19/2012) (NOTE:  THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE THAT HAS BEEN FACT CHECKED AND GIVEN FOUR PINOCCHIOS!  Food stamps went up because people cannot find jobs because Republicans are obstructing bills that would add jobs.)

Redistributing Your Wealth
Check out the RNC’s new web videos, “Redistribution” and “Redistribution II” -- shedding light on President Obama’s belief that redistributing wealth creates prosperity. If this were true, unemployment would be below 8%, we wouldn’t have exploding deficits, or have a record number of people in poverty. The fact is redistribution has not worked, and America needs Governor Romney who embraces free enterprise to get Americans back to work. (Note:  This is another lie which has been proven to be false by Fact Checkers)

“Middle East Madness”
Faced with the ferocious attacks leveled at Americans in the Middle East by extremists who view Barack Obama and his weak foreign policy of apology and appeasement with disdain, the Obama Administration’s excuses and denial only make things worse. (Victor Davis Hanson, “Middle East Madness, National Review, 9/20/2012) (Note:  The Mouthpiece website for the RNC/Romney gets wrong again -- there were no Obama apologies but Romney coming out during the crises to score political points shows he has no integrity and no ethics and refused to take back his comments the next day that Obama was apologizing.  Absolutely disgusting performance out of Romney and Republicans)
