Took the week off with Family visiting for Thanksgiving. Now ready to start bringing you snippets of the latest on what is happening in the political world:

 Received great news today that Joe Allbaugh, the political guru from Oklahoma, is going to be the new Campaign Manager for Governor Perry. Cannot think of a better person than Allbaugh who also helped put the Bush 43 campaign together. He is the best. IMHO he beats Rove by a mile -- now Rove has a real opponent in Allbaugh if he continues to want to tank Perry for Romney.

Herman Cain has another woman accusing him -- this time about a 13-year affair.  Word is out that he is considering leaving the race if his wife wants him to do that.  Wouldn't want to be in his home with this latest coming out.  His wife should take him to the cleaners after he had her give a press interview.  For the first time  Republicans are beginning to call for him to leave the race except for Morris of Fox News who thinks he should stay.  Better for Romney if he does as he is taking Romney and his lack of being conservative off the front page.

Former Senator Rick Santorum blasts Gingrich abortion stance as 'inconsistent' which is no shock.  Gingrich already traveled the country with Pelosi on Global Warming and worked with Hillary on Universal Healthcare plus has made millions off of being a lobbyist so not being that conservative on social issues would go along with his arrogance in thinking he can fool conservatives.  He sure didn't fool Santorum or a lot of us who know Gingrich core values on many issues are lacking.

Poll:  Gingrich would pick up Cain Supporters makes sense.  Both men, Cain and Gingrich, have had affairs and their core values are suspect.  That must be the part of the Republican Party who sees nothing wrong with the fact that Gingrich was having an affair at the same time he was going after Clinton on Monicagate and had to resign as Speaker.  As some conservatives like to say, "Clinton lied under oath and Newt didn't," but you can put me in the category of not going to vote for someone who had an affair on wife #1 when she had cancer and wife #2 when he was Speaker of the House which makes him not fit to be President IMHO.  We had a womanizer in Clinton and don't need another one.

Huntsman hits Romney as status quo candidate, in pocket of Wall Street -- finally something I agree with Huntsman -- he nails Romney in this article.  Most of the campaign donations for Romney that don't come from Mormon businessmen and individuals is coming from Wall Street.  Reminder if you hold a state office, the most you can take from the financial sector is $300 but if you are a federal office holder or a private citizen, you can take the full amount -- Romney is taking full advantage.  This person does not want someone as President who is in the back pocket of Wall Street as we already have one in the White House.

Sen. Pat Toomey says Dems torpedoed debt panel to protect Obama excerpt: Supercommittee member Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) accused Democrats on Monday of torpedoing the deficit supercommittee because a success would have “stepped on” President Obama’s campaign narrative.  Speaking Monday on CNBC’s "Squawk Box," Toomey said there’s “something to” suggestions that Democrats had an incentive to see the supercommittee fail.  “That goes to the asymmetry of the incentives and I think there was something to that,” Toomey said. “The president’s fundamental campaign message was to run against Congress — never mind the fact that half of Congress is controlled by the Democrats, but that’s his purpose, and certainly an agreement in this committee would have stepped on that narrative for the president.”   That is one bet that I would taken -- Democrats would negotiate in bad faith to protect Obama.  That is why the Super Committee was doomed to failure from the beginning.  Now what happens to the Defense Department?  Stay tuned to see if they can work out a deal on that -- wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an agreement. We cannot forget that Climate Gate blew up big time in the last week: Climategate–The Political Scam, Investment Fraud, and Science Scandal of The Century Exposed–The Progressive Radical Socialist’s Big Lie And Con That Man Is The Cause Of Global Warming Was In Fact Nothing More Than Politicians, Investment Bankers, and Government Scientists Creating Climate Crisis! This had to put a smile on Senator Inhofe's (R-OK) face as once again he is being proved right that Global Warming is junk science.  Hats off to the Senator for his willingness to take a stand against the Global Warming crowd and not waiver.  In the end, Inhofe is standing tall, and the Global Warming crowd led by Al Gore have been shown to be nothing more than a scam.  Gotta love it that Senator Inhofe was right all along but we are not expecting members of the media to acknowledge how right he has been.

Wanted to post a snippet of a few happenings over the last week -- hope you and yours had a Happy Thanksgiving and survived Black Friday if you chose to go shopping or cold, rainy college football games on Saturday.  The temps were not that cold (low 50's) at Owen Field here in Norman for the Sooners game but that wind was brutal which was swirling around the field sometimes at 30+ mph along with an occasional snow flurry and really cold drizzle.  Took some time to warm up after the game!  Watching several pro games saw the same kind of weather on Sunday -- miserable!

Herman Cain Backs Collective Bargaining For Public Employees

On November 14th, Cain sat down with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board for a series of interviews which show him to be much more liberal then he portrays, out of touch on foreign policy, and a lack of knowledge on how Government works.  To be running for President and not know that federal employees don't have collective bargaining shows a lack of interest in even learning how Government works.  Is he another person who wants all the benefits to feed his massive ego but not the work that comes with the Presidency.  We do not need another Obama who is not sure if he has any core values as they change so much.

As one poster put it on the 3 am phone call, "Cain probably wouldn't be able to find the phone!"


Was astounded when I saw the headline.  Then it hit me and I started chuckling because Cain who considers himself to be the Koch Brothers 'other brother' is going against a campaign that the Koch Brothers have been fighting for years to have Right to Work in states and end collective bargaining for public employees.

Why is it different at the state and local level when there is no collective bargaining at the federal level on pay or benefits and you are not allowed to strike?  Herman Cain didn't know that and now that he found out wants to make it the same for federal employees to have collective bargaining.  Why is he considered a conservative?  Republican Conservatives like me believe no public employee should be allowed to strike.  When there was a rash of teacher strikes in the past, I found it unconscionable that teachers whose job is to teach our students went on strike in mostly major cities for more money.  Unions get all upset when you want to tie performance with raises.  Why?  Shouldn't parents be able to expect their child's teacher to be the best teacher possible and just not be one of those teachers who does the bare minimum?

Now along comes Herman Cain who seems to have little core conservative values but tries to talk the talk? Cain has has run into a wall in the last couple of weeks and his more liberal side is coming out.  Typical politician to blame the media but how do you blame the media for your own interview?  How long before Cain goes out and says he didn't mean what he said after the Koch Brothers get in touch with him.  This is what Cain would have to flip flop on with his own words:

On the issue of collective bargaining, Cain said he supported the right of public employees to bargain collectively. 

"But not collective hijacking. What I mean by that, if they have gotten so much for so many years and it's going to bankrupt the state, I don't think that's good. It appears that in some instances, they really don't care."

Asked about last week's vote in Ohio, in which the state's new collective bargaining law was rejected by voters, Cain said that "maybe they tried to get too much and as a result it failed."

Just a short rundown on some of the non-conservative issues Cain supports:

• affirmative action (Senate campaign in 2004) 
• empowerment zones in urban areas who would pay less taxes in his 9-9-9 plan which morphs depending on the audience 
• electrified fence for the border, would rely on advisers to make the decisions on foreign policy, 
• black minister who follows Malcolm X for inspiration in a very liberal Baptist Church where he is an associate minister
• releasing terrorist to get back one hostage
• collective bargaining for government employees including federal

Those are for starters so the question once again is "Why does Cain consider himself a conservative?"  That list doesn't even include his lies which are harder to ignore on sexual harassment with him now saying he doesn't remember before he remembers when confronted with facts.

His latest in his interview with the Milwaukee Journal on foreign policy concerning Libya  makes you cringe and shows he is not ready for that 3am phone call.

Finding out he backs collective bargaining even for federal employees and astounded that they didn't already have it is mind boggling.  Where was Cain when President Reagan fired the Air Traffic Controllers for striking?  Thanks to Cain's comments the AFSCME, Federal employees union immediately pounced with their comments as he played right into their hands.

My biggest question is why give these answers in Milwaukee when they Democrats/unions are launching a recall drive for Governor Walker?  Is he trying to tank Walker in the recall drive which will not make his 'brothers' very happy as the Koch Brothers are heavily invested in Walker.

You be the judge after reading this article and tell me if he is not running in the wrong Party.

Herman Cain Backs Collective Bargaining For Public Employees

In a move that will undoubtedly puzzle if not enrage conservative voters, Herman Cain said in an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Monday that he supported the rights of public workers to collectively bargain. He also said he believed that Ohio Gov. John Kasich went too far when he tried to strip those rights with Senate Bill 5.

Cain also said in the interview that he would support collective bargaining for federal employees. In fact, he seemed to believe they currently enjoy those rights, the Journal Sentinel reported. "Asked if he thought federal employees should have the ability to bargain collectively, Cain said: 'They already have it, don't they?'" 

Cain's answer means he is more progressive on the issue than Mitt Romney, who notably endorsed Kasich's SB 5, then declined to comment on a campaign to repeal it before finally coming out against that campaign. And while it may make some political sense for Cain to make this case in the course of a general election campaign -- Kasich's polling numbers have plummeted -- it will do him no favors in the primary. 

Also notable is the fact that Cain gave his response to a Milwaukee-based newspaper, as Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, like Kasich, is staunchly anti-union and has advanced legislation that curbs collective bargaining rights. 

The timing of the discussion with the Journal Sentinel's editorial board struck some as odd, given that Wisconsin does not play an active role in the early part of the primary season. Ellen Carmichael, Cain's former spokeswoman, tweeted: "Question not meant to disparage Herman or the great state of Wisconsin: why would someone meet with the Journal Sentinel ed board right now?" 

UPDATE: 6:15 p.m. -- AFSCME, the union that represents public workers, quickly praised Cain's stance Monday afternoon. Marty Beil, executive director of AFSCME Council 24 in Wisconsin, sent the following statement to The Huffington Post: 

Voters from across party lines and the country support collective bargaining. Even Herman Cain can read a poll. We hope that he took advantage of his time in the state to call Governor Walker to urge him to repeal the anti-worker legislation he rammed through this year.

Are Cain's Sexual Harassment Charges Covering Up Cain's Inexperience to be President?

Sometimes editorial cartoons tell the real story and this is one of them.  While the allegations are swirling around Herman Cain of sexual harassment and now his wanting to be hooked up with women at events, the real focus of his being unqualified to be President is off the radar.

His lack of knowledge of foreign affairs is stunning which this points out.  For a man running for President not to know China had nukes is disturbing.  The very first article I posted on a website back in the late 90's was the Sen Jim Inhofe speech on 'Theft of Nuclear Secrets by the Chinese' -- guess Cain was too busy with settling his sexual harassment suits to notice.

The most stunning of all of this is the conservative pundits defense of Cain with their blame the media and looking for who leaked.  Rush Limbaugh's comments yesterday about accuser #4 sunk him to a new low.  His  disgusting comments and sounds against this woman made him sound like a first class jerk.

What bothers a lot of us is all the issues that have been taken off the radar that should be front and center as Cain tries to dodge any responsibility:

• Lack of Government Executive Experience such as a Governor or Mayor of a large city which requires you to work with both parties.

• Flip flops on issues from abortion to affirmative action to try and convince conservatives with his glib tongue that he is a conservative.  He has sure fooled Rush, Hannity, and Levin who never bothered to research the man.

• Doesn't understand how Government works with his not wanting to sign a bill longer than five pages or believes he can sign a Constitutional Amendment.

• Pretends to be a DC Outsider when he was an inside the beltway lobbyist for the National Restaurant Association.

• Ever changing 9-9-9 plan which now favors inner cities is exposed at Middle People:

The Economist puts the lie to Cain’s 9-9-9 commercials and exposes the scheme behind the slogan. 

9-9-9 not only is not merely 9-9-9, as we have previously noted here, Cain has admitted to other versions including 9-0-9 and 3-3-3. 

Now we learn that “9-9-9″ is intended to be a stepping-stone to a 30% national sales tax. Cain is hiding that because what he intends to do is too popular - so he’s lying to get your vote. 

The next time you hear Herman Cain huckster for 9-9-9 think “LIAR!” 

The next time Cain asks for your money, send him your demand to tell the truth instead.

• As late as 2004, Cain was supported by Rainbow/PUSH for his stance on voting rights and affirmative action while being against school vouchers:

1999: “But unlike many in his party, Cain opposes school vouchers for private schools and backs efforts only to revisit, not eliminate, affirmative action. He declined to give his position on abortion rights. In the primaries, Cain’s moderate social stances could pose problems. Not a main stream conservative.” 

Herman Cain in his previous run for US Senator from Georgia, openly endorsed affirmative action on his web site. 

Herman Cain has made the cause of civil rights a major issue. Herman Cain favors Federal Government intervention in the work place on the behalf of blacks and minorities. 

2004: Cain, who has been endorsed by Rainbow/PUSH’s Southeastern operations director Joe Beasley, stated he would vote for reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act. Rainbow/PUSH is known by its executive Jessie Jackson.

He backed the Wall Street bailout, or according to Cain, the “recovery plan,” as he called it on his radio show. Cain wrote that nationalizing banks “is not a bad thing.” He even went as far as criticizing opponents of the bailout, calling them, free market purists, and absurdly claiming that no valid criticism had been brought forward. Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain said Tuesday that he is open to hiring gay staffers if elected president. 

“Nope, not at all. I wouldn’t have a problem with that at all,”

• Cain attacks Governor Perry for a rock that had a racial slur painted over but when the facts come out showing Cain is wrong, he never apologizes.

• Cain accuses staffers of Governor Perry for doing the leaking but when confronted with the facts, once again Cain does not apologize or back off.

• Cain's attacks on the media are way over the top and his defense crumbles as he admits he did know about the charges and the settlement.

When you put everything together, you realize based on experience alone along with his comments on issues and his flip flopping on issues that Cain should not be running.  Frankly his ties to the Koch Brothers who are libertarian not Republican and who he considers himself to be one of their brothers are troubling as they set out to buy a President.  Now you have to ask yourself why he ran in 2000 after the National Restaurant Association settled a sexual harassment suit in the fall of 1999 soon after he resigned before his contract was up.  That took pure arrogance and from watching this debacle unfold, arrogance and Herman Cain are synonymous.  To date he has taken no personal responsibility but blamed the women and the media.

Bill Bennett runs out of patience with Herman Cain

The conservative author and former education secretary writes on National Review that the Herman Cain campaign has run out of chances to brush off the issue:

If Herman Cain wants to be taken seriously as a public advocate for anything, never mind running for the chief executive and commander in chief of the most powerful and important and blessed country in the world, he needs to give a full press conference dedicated exclusively to this issue and these allegations. 

I have watched long enough and held my tongue long enough to give him the benefit of the doubt, but can no longer say this is a witch hunt, “a lynching” to use his word, or any other euphemism. There are allegations out there that matter and they have stacked up. For we who led the charge against Bill Clinton on a number of related issues to continue to blame the media or other campaigns or say it simply doesn’t matter makes us the hypocrites as well.

Bill Bennett speaks for many Republicans.  There is no way a lot of us will ever support Herman Cain for President after what we have seen these last 10 days.  His actions of drip, drip, drip with lies and then some bits truth but still blaming the media disqualifies him to be President IMHO.  

New accuser to go public with charges against Herman Cain

A fourth woman accusing Herman Cain of sexual harassment during his time at the National Restaurant Assn. plans to go public with her allegations at a news conference Monday in New York.

The woman is represented by powerhouse Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred. Allred had a similar news conference earlier this year on behalf of one of the women who was enmeshed in the Twitter scandal that brought down New York Rep. Anthony Weiner.

Allred’s office said the woman “is not one of the three women who have previously been reported to have alleged sexual harassment by the Republican presidential candidate ” and that she will be “the first to give her name and to speak out about details of what she alleges occurred between her and Cain.”

Two woman reportedly complained about Cain’s conduct during his time as head of the restaurant association in Washington but have not revealed their identities. A third considered bringing a complaint but did not, the Associated Press reported last week.

The latest accuser surfaces at a time when Cain and his campaign are desperately -- and perhaps now futilely -- trying to change the subject. Cain grew testy with reporters after a campaign event with former House Speaker and fellow GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich over the weekend, refusing to answer questions about the allegations. His campaign manager has been sending out copies of the Society of Professional Journalists’ ethics code in a bid to deter reporters from bringing them up.

And now there are some signs that the scandal is taking a political toll on Cain. An Ipsos/Reuters poll conducted online at the end of last week showed Cain’s favorability rating among Republicans dropping 9 points, from 66% to 57%, and his rating among all voters dropping from 37% to 32%. Perhaps more worrisome for Cain was that a full 80% of respondents said they knew about the harassment allegations. One in three Republicans said the accusations made them view Cain less favorably.

Allred's news conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EST.

Must admit if I was a woman coming forward even though I am a Conservative Republican, I would want Allred on my side after what I have been witnessing out of the Conservative pundits, some Republicans including at least one Congressman, Steve King, of Iowa, and others who are downplaying sexual harassment with this is the liberal media's fault and a witch hunt.  It is not a witch hunt when someone is guilty and the National Restaurant Association (NRA) settled the complaints for money. Allred took down Weiner so this is not about Party but about what is right which some conservatives are missing.  Character of the candidate is important to most Repubicans.  Maybe not to Libertarians who pretend to be Republican but to the actual Republican voter.

If you think I am disgusted, you would be correct.  Cain has no government executive experience, lied about his time at Godfather Pizza which was not near bankruptcy  and left the National Restaurant Association before his time was up and right before they settled a 2nd Sexual Harassment suit -- connect the dots and it doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened.

First of all for the first time since I passed out literature for Goldwater when I was a teenager, I am questioning why I am a conservative and why I belong to the Republican Party after what I am witnessing with the demeaning going on of women and the conservative media by this con artist who many of us are coming to believe is not all that conservative.  Cain has proven he is someone who can lie, lie again, attack another candidate as the leaker and refuse to answer questions, yet the conservative pundits line up for the most part right with Herman Cain.

Michael Medved is one of the few pundits out there telling it like it is so there is at least one national pundit who has not sold out.

Cain has made allegations against Rick Perry on the rock or now his campaign is the leaker about the sexual harassment charges on Cain which were false but refuses to apologize.  Where is the outrage about having a black candidate that brings racism into the debate against a fellow candidate or now threatens to sue a news organization for telling the truth which he basically has admitted.  What am I missing here?

After what I have witnessed out of some of the conservative pundits and some elected officials defending Herman Cain and blaming the media for telling the truth, I am having a hard time reconciling the fact I am in the same Party.  Then I realize that this is the Libertarian leaning Republicans talking not most Republicans.  How many conservative pundits are not even Republican -- seems like quite a few.  The facts and lies from Cain mean zero, zip, nada as it is the narrative that the liberal media is always wrong and our conservative pundits and media are always right which is pure bunk.

This idea it is the "liberal" media's fault is ludicrous.  These same people blamed the media for not digging into Obama until it was too late but even then we knew about Rev Wright.  What have you seen written about the fact that the liberal church in Atlanta that Cain is an associate minister has a minister who uses Malcolm X for his guide?  Not much.  We also learned that Cain's wife voted twice in a primary in 2004 -- once as a Republican and once as a Democrat and votes mostly Democrat.  We know that Herman Cain supports Democrats in Florida running for Congress, one of them is a friend of Castor and Chavez.  I guess all of that is okay to the conservative pundits and elected officials as no one is supposed to print the truth about Herman Cain because after all he is a Republican black man and you don't dare go after him.  (sarcasm)

Since I wholeheartedly supported JC Watts for Congress, Clarence Thomas for the Supreme Court, and now Allen West for Congress, the idea that you have to protect a black Republican no matter what he does is so wrong and so outdated from either party.  The color of a man's skin makes no difference when it comes to ethics.  It is actually demeaning to someone like Allen West who has been not only a very good candidate but an extremely good Congressman with integrity.  That integrity is missing with Herman Cain who got in the race to sell his book and make money after spending years working with the libertarian Koch Brothers at Americans for Prosperity their non-profit arm which is under investigation for illegally helping the Cain campaign get up and running.  The Koch Brothers seem to be out to buy the Presidency with Herman Cain who has less experience than Obama.

This last week has been illuminating to say the least.  We have at least one Republican elected official talking about there is no such thing as sexual harassment.  I guess it is okay according to them to have a supervisor tell off color jokes, make lewd remarks, put their hands on a woman employee whenever they want, invite her to dinner or to his apartment and if she doesn't come threaten to hold up a promotion.  After all, only liberal women complain about sexual harassment.  That is so untrue because in the Government and I assume private industry you will find out that some civilian supervisors sexually harass their female employees and ideology makes no difference.  Now you hear complains of women supervisor to their men employees.  Experienced it first hand in the DoD and don't need to be told by any one there is no such thing as sexual harassment.

How could Cong Steve King of Iowa who made such ludicrous comments about sexual harassment.  Would he like to have a family member 20 years of age followed to her car by a 2nd level supervisor making all kinds of lewd comments and threatening to hold up a promotion -- that happened to me when I worked for the Air Force.  Fortunately the guys in my office stood up for me and two Lt's took turns walking me to my car.

Finally they got a Commander who cleaned house and some senior civilians throughout the Command found themselves retiring to spend more time with their family.  So no one needs to tell me that it didn't happen as it is still happening today.  It is not just men, it is women too.

I am never been so appalled in my life to have people I used to respect say there is no such thing as sexual harassment like Cong Steve King of Iowa.  He did say it shouldn't be reported unless there are three and now we have four.  Can I get an apology for the women of America who have been sexually harassed and it doesn't make a difference if you are liberal, conservative, moderate, or apolitical when it comes to sexual harassment.  How much money has a civilian ever gotten out of the DoD for filing a sexual harassment complaint?  Usually they are the ones transferred.  To say it doesn't exist is ludicrous and shows how far out of touch with reality a lot of today's Republican/Libertarian men are who are defending Cain.

These same men didn't say a word when Cain falsely accused Rick Perry over a rock or that the Perry camp outed Cain which wasn't true.  You must not speak ill of the token black Republican supported by the Koch Brothers as they might not donate to your campaign is the feeling I am getting.  Anyone who supports a candidate with NO Government executive experience who doesn't under how the Presidency works and the Constitution is doing this Country a disservice.  In fact, for Cain to have such little knowledge of the Federal Government is odd considering he was an in the beltway type lobbyist for the Restaurant Association which you don't hear about either.

This is most disgusting election I have ever witnessed.  I will never vote for Cain if he is the nominee because it will mean that the Koch Brothers and the Libertarians have taken total control of the Republican Party.  I will not stay a Republican if that happens.    Why are the pundits and the establishment types so afraid of Perry.  Are they afraid he is going to upset their apple cart and actually make a difference?  Are they afraid that Steve Forbes is going to have some say?  That would be the same Steve Forbes that Rove help take out in the 2000 Republican primary.

I am only one Conservative Republican woman but there are many more just like me who are absolutely appalled and disgusted with what we are seeing with the continued support of Cain after he lied and as the facts have been drip, drip, dripping out just like Clinton.  I don't see the difference and the amount of hypocrisy on the right is stunning.

My line is drawn in the sand -- I will not listen to pundits who keep defending Cain, I will not support him in any way shape or form or any elected officials who supports him, I will quit websites which I have been doing if their emails and articles continue to support Cain.  If the Republican Party has no integrity and is not willing to say enough is enough to Herman Cain, then I have zero loyalty to the Party as they will have proven they put narrative over substance and integrity.

IBD: Romney So Far: No Core Beliefs, Many Flip-Flops

"No matter what the media or the GOP establishment say, the truth of the matter is GOP primary voters are still in complete charge of the outcome of this race. Not one vote has yet to be cast."


We should be sending that to Rasmussen who is trying to throw this campaign to the establishment candidate with his polling right now.  The donations don't reflect the Rasmussen numbers, but anyone who has been around politics knows that Rasmussen polls are not to be believed until a few weeks before an election.  He has a history of switching to make his numbers match the fact closer to an election.  For now he is content to help out Rove, Ailes, Fox News, and the establishment trying to give us Romney as our candidate.  If you honestly think that Perry is polling behind Ron Paul then I have swampland for sale in Arizona!

"Is there anyone sane left in the GOP Establishment?"


From what I can observe the answer is a resounding "NO"!  Drudge Report and Fox News are fully on the establishment bandwagon for Romney except for a few hosts but you can count them on one hand and have fingers left over.  Drudge seems to be writing his anti-Perry articles right out of the Karl Rove playbook.  Site after site has figured out what Karl Rove is working for the Establishment GOP to get Romney nominated and a lot of conservatives don't like it one bit.  This pushing Romney who is not conservative and is a flip flopper is absolutely disgusting.  Bush 41 and his cabal who run the GOP Establishment should be ashamed of themselves for what they are trying to do to the Republican Party.  They don't seem to care if we lose as long as it is not Governor Perry.  Are they afraid with Perry, they will see what is left of their power disappear?  I say good riddance to their power over the Republican Party.

Then you have the Koch Brothers and their political arm Americans for Prosperity pushing Herman Cain.  Cannot believe people are not up in arms at his smoking ad which I find totally offensive but then I thought not having smoking in restaurants has been great since I start sneezing around cigarette smoke.  His campaign manager, Block, from Americans for Prosperity (AFP)was suspended from doing political campaigns in Wisconsin for three years due to his dirty tricks.  Most of his campaign people come from AFP and why he and his people don't understand Government or the Constitution.  His comments as President he would sign an amendment left you shaking your head that he could be so naive.  It wouldn't shock you if you have ever asked someone from AFP a question about government that isn't in their talking points, you can expect to get a dumb answer.  Seen it up close and personal.  Cain never claimed AFP on his resume but he had a desk, phone, and email account at AFP and spoke around the country for them getting paid through a speaker's bureau.  Not one thing on the resume which is not shocking when you deal with any candidate the Koch Brothers support.  Like so many wealthy donors on both sides, ethics do not matter!

This IBD editorial nails Romney for his flip flops and the GOP establishment for their stupidity.  Guess in VA yesterday afternoon, Romney flip flopped again on Ohio Right to Work changes from Gov Kasish and now supports them putting out the word it was a gotcha question.  Romney who was a one term Governor, been running for President since 2004, has been threw numerous debates in 2008, is claiming it was a gotcha question.  How dumb does he think everyone is to even consider that he would be caught by a gotcha question?  What a horrible candidate.

Romney So Far: No Core Beliefs, Many Flip-Flops

Is there anyone sane left in the GOP establishment? Does plain old common sense and gut instinct no longer matter to those who purport to speak for the party? Have conservative principles and traditional values become nothing more than meaningless rhetoric to those so desperate to hang on to imagined power? 

As the Republican establishment lines up like lemmings behind Mitt Romney, it would be illuminating and in fact critical to look at the news for just the last couple of days with regard to this untethered and pliable candidate. A good place to start would be Romney refusing to back Ohio Gov. John Kasich against the public-employee unions' attempt to roll back the law against union greed. 

In a devastating and spot-on critique of Romney with regard to this issue, the conservative Club for Growth said:

"The big problem many conservatives have with Mitt Romney is that he's taken both sides of nearly every issue important to us. He's against a flat tax, now he's for it. He says he's against ObamaCare, but was for the individual mandate and subsidies that are central to ObamaCare. 

He thinks that collective bargaining issues should be left for states to decide if he's in Ohio, but he took the opposite position when he was in New Hampshire. This is just another statement in a long line of statements that will raise more doubts about what kind of President Mitt Romney would be in the minds of many Republican primary voters." 

Ouch. 

Next we turn our attention to the far-left New York Times and its recent headlines regarding Mitt Romney: "Lectern Gone, Romney Finds More Success," said one. Another proclaimed: "Why It's Good For Romney To Be At 21 Percent." 

Curious. Why do the New York Times and so many other liberal publications continually find ways to promote the Romney campaign? 

Conversely, let's look at some recent New York Times headlines regarding Texas Gov. Rick Perry. The first offered up this default criticism of conservatives by the left: "Perry Plan Would Grant Big Tax Break To Wealthiest." Said another: "Obama Attacks Perry On Flat Tax." 

In a country and a world already turned upside down by escalating chaos and uncertainty, shouldn't voters be paying more attention to the continual flip-flops of a 64-year-old man who does not seem to yet know his core beliefs. Shouldn't it give these same voters pause when so many in the left seem to be cheerleading him on as they did John McCain in 2007? 

On the other hand, call me crazy, but as an independent conservative, when Barack Obama, Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the New York Times team up to attack Rick Perry, it only serves to convince me that he is on the right side of the issue and must be advocating those common-sense and conservative values solutions. 

With the help of the GOP establishment and many in the mainstream media, Mitt Romney is trying to create a sense of inevitability and a growing and unstoppable momentum. That is not only his right; it's smart campaigning. 

But as Mr. Romney allies himself with the entrenched special interests to achieve his goal, potential Republican primary voters need to ask themselves a very important and timely question: What if "unstoppable momentum" turns into terminal velocity? What if their hopes and dreams for themselves and their families go splat against the ground? 

No matter what the media or the GOP establishment say, the truth of the matter is GOP primary voters are still in complete charge of the outcome of this race. Not one vote has yet to be cast.

There is still plenty of time to get educated on the issues and the candidates.Like "The Wizard of Oz," while the entrenched establishment and Mr. Romney try to divert attention from reality, it's time for voters to pull back that curtain, realize who is really pulling the levers and then make an informed decision. 

There is still time to beat the machine.

Are Florida Conservatives Aware of the Democrat Cain Supports in Florida?

Can you say that Herman Cain has not been vetted?  Cain supports Democrats like Jose Serrano who supports Chavez and Castro but calls them moderate Democrats.  If Serrano is a moderate Democrat than I have swampland for sale in Arizona.  He has one of the most liberal voting records in the House but Cain thinks he is a moderate.  Why would we trust his judgement as President?  Who did the vetting or are Republicans afraid to vet a black candidate?   If this is an example of who Cain considers moderate than I throw in the towel.  Why is he running as a Republican Conservative?

 Moderation wears a brostache.

. . . that they gave a straw poll victory to a man who supports “moderate” Democrats like Jose Serrano? If not, I bet they will be soon. In fact, I suspect they’ll be hearing a whole lot about it on the radio and TV in the weeks ahead — especially around the Miami area. And something tells me they’ll have some second thoughts about whether or not that straw poll victory was very meaningful when it comes time to cast their votes. 

Herman Cain says the Democrats he has supported in the past were “all moderate Democrats.” I was surprised to find my congressman, Rep. Jose Serrano, on that list. Is he a “moderate Democrat”? Let’s ask National Journal: 

Serrano has one of the most liberal voting records in the House.

Egad. That does not sound like “moderate Democrat” to me. But let’s look at the details: 

 In opposition to Cuban Hispanics in Congress, Serrano has been Fidel Castro’s greatest champion in the House. He has sought repeal of economic sanctions against Cuba. When questions arose about Castro’s future after major surgery in July 2006, Serrano issued a press release telling President George W. Bush, “Hands Off Cuba.” When Castro’s brother, Raúl Castro, took control, Serrano said that it was “long past time to end the charade and begin dialogue and engagement with Cuba.” Another of his issues is statehood for Puerto Rico, which he calls an American “colony.” He backs a long-stalled referendum to determine the status of the island. In 2000, Serrano was arrested at the White House while protesting the Navy’s bombing range at Vieques, Puerto Rico. He also took credit for working with Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez and Citizen Energy Corp. to strike a deal to bring cheaper oil to the South Bronx. He has criticized the reluctance of House Democratic leaders to pass immigration reform.

In New York politics, Serrano backed former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer for mayor in 2001 and 2005. He backed civil-rights activist Al Sharpton for president in 2004. 

Hmm. That’s not what I generally think of when I think about what constitutes a “moderate Democrat”.

Maybe Herman Cain has a different idea of “moderate” from the one I have. I dunno. 

Then again, Jose Serrano may be quite moderate by Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan standards. And I’m pretty sure he’s a moderate by Venezuelan standards. 

Or, is he? Hmm. Well, he must be a moderate Democrat if Herman Cain supports him. I mean, it just wouldn’t make any sense otherwise, would it? 

Idunno. This just seems like another one of those things where you just have to take Herman Cain’s word for it, really.

Hispanic Republican Leader Leaves Party Because of Herman Cain

It is not shocking that Lauro Antonio Garza has now left the Republican Party because of Herman Cane and lack of leadership in the Republican Party on Cain's comments about the electrified fence, but it is sad that it has come to this.  Our RNC Chair is a joke who cannot even get the states to be reasonable on the primary/caucus dates.  The states know they can do whatever they want and Preibus won't say a word.  When Rove helped install him at RNC, we once again have another Chair who is a figurehead.  RNC has received my last cent for a donation until they clean house and change the rules.  Instead of getting the best person to run the RNC, the Chair has to be a former member of the RNC which is made up of a bunch of elitist Republicans who can afford to travel on their own nickle.  The Republican Party is going to lose more people like Garza who brought fresh ideas to the Republican Party because of their silence.

After Herman Cane's comments about the electrified border fence, he admitted in Arizona they were not a joke, I can understand Garza's position.  Joke or not, those comments are bigoted by Cain and not something you would expect to hear out of someone running for President.  In fact I find what he has to say about the border fence totally reprehensible.  I am with Garza in asking where are the voices of the Republican Party condemning the comments by Cane?  Are they afraid that Cain will infer they are racist like he did Rick Perry for a rock that had been painted over for years.  Turns out that Cain's stance on undocumented Hispanics and an electrified fence is so far over the edge compared to a painted rock that I cannot believe anyone is still supporting him who has an ounce of common sense.

The Repub­li­can party is shed­ding their loyal mem­bers one by one. This time its Lauro Anto­nio Garza, the Repub­li­can leader of Somos Repub­li­cans, a Texas Repub­li­can group that caters to con­ser­v­a­tive Hispanics. 

Mr. Garza sat back and lis­tened to the recent claims by Her­man Cain, that an elec­tric fence along the bor­der states would be the way to keep ille­gals out of the coun­try. When asked about those irre­spon­si­ble state­ments on this week’s Meet The Press, Cain said he was joking. No one in the Repub­li­can lead­er­ship how­ever, had any prob­lems with Cain’s care­less remarks, and this silence from the Repub­li­can lead­er­ship was the last straw for Mr. Garza.

How much dis­tance has been trav­elled since Pres­i­dent George W. Bush left office?  

To us at Somos Repub­li­cans, the answer is, ‘Way too much!’ We fear that for most of the Repub­li­can Party, the answer is, ‘Not far enough!!’ 

Today, we find the Repub­li­can Party has strayed from its roots and its found­ing prin­ci­pals so far that they can no longer be seen. We saw this yes­ter­day, in the glare of broad day­light, when a lead­ing pres­i­den­tial can­di­date, Her­man Cain, not once, but twice, advo­cated for the mur­der of inno­cent peo­ple and that was met with cheers! Somos Repub­li­cans, America’s largest orga­ni­za­tion of con­ser­v­a­tive His­pan­ics, was alone in its crit­i­cism of this loud mouth hate­ful bigot. To us, the idea of allegedly ‘Pro-Life’ peo­ple shout­ing for the un-Constitutional use of deadly force is unbe­liev­able. Then, too, we shouldn’t be sur­prised since Repub­li­can lead­ers have been advo­cat­ing for the nul­li­fi­ca­tion of the Amer­i­can Con­sti­tu­tion in states like Ari­zona, Geor­gia and now Alabama. When did Repub­li­cans, once syn­ony­mous with ‘con­ser­v­a­tive,’ become so lib­eral as to attack their very own Bill of Rights in the 4th and 14th Amendments?! 

Where is Repub­li­can lead­er­ship? Where has the guid­ing prin­ci­pal of ‘Moral­ity’ gone?! If the Repub­li­can Party can­not or will not rebuke this hate­ful bigot and oth­ers like him who wear the man­tle of ‘Repub­li­can’ then per­haps the time has come for a rebuke of the Party itself! 

Ronald Rea­gan left the Demo­c­rat Party say­ing they had left him. Per­haps, I shall do the same because the Repub­li­can Party has become rad­i­cal and unrea­son­able. Pres­i­dent Rea­gan must be tum­bling in his grave!

What the Republican Party is turning into at the national level and in some states makes you cringe.  I have  supported conservatives my whole life.  As a high school student, I walked thousands of doors for Barry Goldwater who would be a moderate these days in the Republican Party.  What has happened to the leadership of the party of Reagan?  The silence is deafening and the voices you hear are of the far right who don't represent most of us.  These people who call themselves conservatives are unlike any group I have known in the past.  This group of people do not represent me with their hatred and bigotry toward a group of people.

I don't believe in illegal immigration but am smart enough to know, you cannot deport so many people and that are biggest problems on the border are the drug cartels and the Hezbollah.  Those two groups are extremely dangerous but the attention has been focuses on the illegals coming across not the violence caused by the cartels.  People on the border understand but a group of people who have never been to the Texas border have no clue what is being faced in Texas when they demand any fence for the whole border.  It is naive and ludicrous.

Can remember like yesterday the day I was told at a Republican Meeting to go back to Mexico when I dared challenge some comments about Hispanics in this Country.  I was disgusted because they were not seeing a difference between documented and undocumented Hispanics -- they lumped them all together.  I looked at the person who told me that and informed them my Father's family was here before the Revolutionary War and that my last name was Italian due to marriage.

Today I would have had a lot more to say about that bigoted remark.  Then the idiot made a crack about my skin coloring being darker so he assumed I was Hispanic.  It was the end of summer and I tan easily thanks to my grandmother's side of the family who come from southern France.  I was fuming as I left the meeting but then thought to myself what if I was Hispanic and had to endure the bigoted talk I had just heard.  Why would I be a Republican?  We have some small minded people in the Republican Party with the loudest voices right now who are an embarrassment.

Why has not one Republican leader stood up and condemned Herman Cain for the following:

Herman Cain acknowledges his electric border fence idea isn't a joke after all

PHOENIX - After first apologizing for suggesting an electric fence along the border, Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain told reporters here Monday that he still thinks it's a good idea for controlling illegal immigration. 

"I'm not walking away from that," he said. 

Cain has spent the last several days explaining a controversial comment about building an electrified fence along the U.S. - Mexico border that he said could kill people trying to enter the country illegally. On Sunday, he said his comments were "a joke." But talking to reporters here after a meeting here with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who has made a national reputation for cracking down on illegal immigrants, Cain reversed course. 

Initially Cain apologied when told his remarks had upset some in the state. "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa," he said, using the Latin formula for expressing contrition. But when a reporter challenged his description of his comments, saying he didn't seem to be telling a joke, the retired pizza executive acknowledged: "You're right." He said he still believes in the need for a border fence "and it might be electrified."

Cain wasn't the only Republican presidential candidate in Arizona - host of one of the early primary contests - talking immigration here on Monday. Earlier in the day, Michele Bachmann met with Arizona lawmakers and law enforcement officials to discuss border security. 

Afterwards, she accused both Cain and Texas Gov. Rick Perry of not being tough enough on the issue.

First of all as we have said many times on here, it is impossible to build a border fence along the whole Texas border so Bachmann and that group have no clue but it makes a good sound bite which is what she is all about.  She has never been to the Texas border but as usual she knows what is best for Texas.  She shouldn't be running with her skinny resume but she seems to be there to be the attack dog for the far right in the debates it looks like. Who is paying her to go after Perry because she is relentless and never gives up even when it makes her look stupid?

As you will learn today, the background on Herman Cane doesn't match the rhetoric about his resume.  A little fact checking by the Koch Brothers before they went all in on Cain using Americans for Prosperity would have showed an extremely thin background, no elective office, and someone who really stretched the truth about his time at Godfather's Pizza or working for the Navy while in graduate school at Purdue University.  Speaking of that, where is his thesis?  No one seems to be able to find his writings.  His 9-9-9 plan is a joke and from all accounts based on the video game Sim City.  This about his time as an Intern for the Navy:

Cain's people claiming he worked on rockets: Rocket scientists have advanced physics degrees, not undergraduate mathematics degrees from second tier colleges. In fact, he worked as a low-level testing engineer on fire control systems for ships, not rockets.

We found a site yesterday which did a fact check on Cain and Godfather Pizza.  First of all his claims that Godfather's Pizza was near bankruptcy when he took over were false.  Secondly, it seems Mr. Cain was bad for business at Godfather's Pizza as after he took over sales went down, they closed pizza restaurants putting people out of work, and they went from being the #3 pizza company to being near the bottom:

In part one, we have seen that despite what Polifact said about Cain mostly telling the truth about inheriting a company near bankruptcy, Godfather’s Pizza was never near bankruptcy. He was inheriting a company that was expected to do well by its previous owners and Pillsbury, its new owner. This surely should be considered an outrageous lie by Cain. In part two, we will see what Cain did with this promising company and how Cain turned a company probably worth about $130 million into a company worth $30 million in two and a half years time. Looks like the spin machine about Herman Cain and Godfather Pizza CEO has been out to disguise the facts.   Where do you even hear that Cain left Godfather's Pizza in 1996?  That is 16 years ago but the media still touts him as CEO of Godfather's.  BTW, he left to write books and go on the talk circuit -- what happened to the math degree and the master's degree in computer science?  Guess they were too mundane for this man who was on his way to wealth.

The Cain 9-9-9 Plan is being given an 'F' by the vast majority of economist as a plan which will hurt the poor and middle class and make the rich much richer.  It is unworkable and would make the deficit balloon.  Now we know why some people on line said the 9-9-9 plan seemed familiar.  This plan looks to be based on a video game.  Even though Mr. Cain denies, the facts say otherwise.  The 9-9-9 plan is very similar to the SimCity video game and in fact EA Sports has done a parody of Cain and now is selling SimCity games for $9.99 in honor of Cain:

No wonder Cain provided no background for his plan just the Power Point of the 9-9-9 Plan with no substance to make it impossible to score.  We ask once again why is Herman Cain being pushed for President?  Makes no sense unless some people like the Koch Brothers want to buy a President who will do what they tell him.  Do we think that is possible?  Yes based on what we are seeing.  The question is WHY?  That we don't have an answer for at the moment.

Herman Cain said he would not support Rick Perry if he is the nominee.  Some rock on his Dad's leased hunting ranch that was painted over years ago that Cain considered racist seems far fetched.  Obvious that   Cain was given an advance copy of the article about the rock so he could make his comments he would never support Perry.   Could the real reason be because Governor Perry believes that students of undocumented parents who have lived in this Country most of their life should get in-state tuition from a bill passed in 2001 in Texas which he supports along with former Governor Jeb Bush and former President/Governor George W. Bush?  They understand that you cannot punish children for their parents coming here undocumented.  Does that make Cain a racist against Hispanics?  His comments with the electrified border fence give credence to the latter not the rock.

The Republican Party used to be a natural fit for conservative Hispanics but how would you like to be Hispanic and have a candidate running for President wanting to put an electrified fence on the border to treat people like cattle which could kill them?  How are they going to put an electrified fence or any fence for that matter through two reservoirs, one of them 218 feet deep?  I am appalled Cain is a candidate running for the Republican nomination and some people are swallowing the rhetoric of his resume, his 9-9-9 plan, and now his comments on the electric fence.  Are the polls reflective of the true voters are are they selected for a reason because they make no sense in the real world?

Why would Republicans nominate someone who has never held elective office, hasn't been a CEO of a corporation since 1996 who has taken his resume and inflated it big time?  Is the media going to tell the truth about Cain or are they going to pull an Obama because he is black and not tell the truth about his background and what he is saying?

Stay tuned as the Republican Party needs to do a correction or it will go over the cliff if we keep on this path with Cain and the far right.  This is one lifelong conservative Republican who will not vote for Herman Cain for President.  Have had enough inexperience in the White House to last a lifetime.  With his comments on the electrified fence not being a joke, there is no way I could ever support such a person.  There is not member of my family who will support him either or close friends.  This isn't about my support for Rick Perry but my complete disgust with Cain's comments on an electrified border fence, my learning the truth about his 9-9-9 plan being copied from SimCity, his time at Godfather Pizza being spun, and no experience as an elected official for starters.  Herman Cain is a non-starter for me.

Encourage people to take a good look at his background and ask yourself just who is supporting Herman Cain and why?  As a Party, we have been reaching out to Hispanics, and along comes Hermain Cain and now they are leaving the Republican Party because no one in leadership will call him on his comments!

“Why I Support Rick Perry” — Dr. Melissa Clouthier

Dr. Melissa Clouthier, a widely-read and well-respected conservative blogger, wrote a great piece on her support of Rick Perry to get America working again:

Rick Perry will be the next President of the United States if I have anything to do with it.
Who am I? I’m a mom, a doctor, a business owner, a former Michigander, Californian and New Yorker, a conservative with a libertarian streak, a Tea Party attender and reporter, a blogger, an activist, and for 14 years, a Texan.

Dr. Clouthier is also one of the most prolific conservatives on twitter.

I live under the light hand of the Texas system–a hand that Governor Perry has done everything in his power to make lighter. He cut the size and scope of government even as the Texas population grew faster than any place in the nation. We started a business here with nothing but a credit card. You know how much money we were making a month when we first moved here fourteen years ago? Two thousand a month. Gross. With a baby. Slowly, surely, we built our business and life here. 

When we first got to Texas, my husband worked with doctors who were heavily involved in the Worker’s Comp (work injuries) and Personal Injury (car accidents) system. It was rife with abuse. There were rings of lawyers, doctors, and accident fakers who exploited the system. Governor Perry directly took on the fraud and abuse which meant taking on the trial lawyers association. In one day after the law was passed (my husband had long since gone into practice for himself and had a holistic practice), the shysters lost the whole scam. It was beautiful to behold. 

And then, this last year, Governor Perry pushed through “loser pays” on lawsuits. I cannot even tell you how much lawyers in Texas hate Rick Perry. And it’s one reason I love his record. It’s also a reason, they’ll fight tooth and nail against him nationally.

Perry has curbed malpractice judgments. So now, doctors are moving to Texas in droves. The Houston medical center is a haven of medical innovation and bold new treatments. People fly from all over the country to come here for cancer treatment and more. When a family member was diagnosed with cancer, do you know how long it took to get an appointment with the number one specialist in the world? Less than one week. I would shudder to be in Massachusetts suffering under impossibly long doctor wait times. 

Rick Perry has fought Barack Obama from day one. I don’t know how many lawsuits have been filed back and forth against the federal government, but I know there’s multiple fights with the EPA, there’s Obamacare, there’s Medicaid, there’s the border, and on and on. Other people talk about fighting President Obama. Governor Perry has gone straight at President Obama’s socialist agenda and tangled with him both rhetorically and in the courts of law.

Dr. Clouthier offers a clear distinction between Rick Perry, President Obama, and the other GOP candidates, highlighting Gov. Perry’s record and conservative resolve.

I want our president to know what it’s like to have skin in the game, to be in the military…to sacrifice. Rick Perry was a C-130 air force pilot who finished as Captain. Pilots need to make quick decisions in demanding situations..life and death decisions. 

Governor Perry is solidly anti-abortion, pro-gun-rights, anti-job killing regulations, pro-capitalist, pro-America, pro-Israel, and for economic expansion. More than being for these things, his professional walk supports these things. He doesn’t just talk or evangelize (though he does both), his record supports these principles. 

I believe that Governor Perry can bring the success that his administration facilitated in Texas to America. The Obama-Keynesian experiment has been an abject failure. What’s the alternative? A mushy Mitt Romneyesque big government Republicanism that expands the power of the government just at a slower rate? A rhetorical flourish from a businessman with no legislative experience?

As I read Dr. Clouthier's full article, I was sitting here thinking she speaks for a lot of us who have witnessed what Rick Perry has done in Texas.  Even black Texas Democrats are saying he is not the least bit racist so what gives with some of our attack dog candidates who ignore facts?  Would they rather scare senior citizens like Romney or declare that they won't support Perry because a rock makes him racist like Cain?  Just like on Gardisil when Bachmann wouldn't let it go.  What's with our candidates who cannot seem to get it through their head that Obama is the enemy?

When Obama came to Texas this week, he was greeted with an ad by Perry.  This week Romney was at The Villages in Florida scaring senior citizens on what Perry would do for social security.  Unlike Romney who has flip flopped BTW, Perry understands the problem younger people are facing with the Social Security scheme.  Never has Gov Perry advocated that current recipients or those near retirement would have their benefits changed.  That doesn't stop Romney from lying and saying he does.

I still haven't recovered from Herman Cain going on Hannity, discovering the truth about the rock and refusing to apologize to Governor Perry.  Is this what happens when you were a Romney supporter in 2008 and now running in the race with him.  You forget your integrity because this sure shocked me out of Cain.  Cain has no Government experience at all so why is he running when we need someone that understands what it is going to take and how the bureaucracy works?  Who got Cain in the race and why?  Was it to run interference for Romney because that looks to be what is happening?

We have to take a stand that we will accept no more candidates being chosen by the elites and the media.  Another tainted debate out of Fox News like Orlando and Fox should never be allowed to moderate a debate again.  After you learn what happened from Howard Kurtz with the facts of the biased Fox debate, then Fox News people along with Roger Ailes have a real problem with integrity and credibility.

There are some so-called conservative sites who have also been playing right along with Fox News in trying to push candidates who are not conservative or have little to no experience.  Why?  Who is pulling their chains and what would be gained to have a candidate like Romney who is not a conservative or Cain with no experience when we know Cain endorsed Romney in 2008?   I shudder to think what it would be like as Romney is not conservative.  Might be the biggest bait and switch ever.  If Cain is conservative, how could he endorse Romney in 2008?  Will someone answer that question?

All the answers go back to the elitist, insider Republicans who want to choose our candidate who would enhance their bottom lines the most and could care less about what happens to the Country if what we are witnessing is an example.  The attacks with lies and innuendos against Governor Perry are so far over the top that they leave a lot of us wondering why so much vitriol from fellow Republicans toward a sitting Governor of a state that is doing very well compared to the rest.  Whatever the reason it is not something I want to keep witnessing out of Republicans but we don't see it stopping with Rove and Ailes in the background pulling puppet strings.  This is hurting Republicans as a whole and that one group doesn't seem to care.

Herman Cain: We Need to Secure the Border with Technology and Guns

Cain is 100% correct about the need to secure the border.  Yesterday when Obama visited El Paso, he obviously didn't see all the tall fencing with concertina wire and guard houses located on the border between the Mexican city of Juarez and El Paso.  If he had, he would be calling for that along the border as it works.  Crime in El Paso dropped significantly when the fence and added security was installed to keep the drug crime on the Mexican side of the border.  Fences work well but Obama has stopped the fence building.

Workers who have jobs in El Paso come across the border every day at the main crossing but Americans are discouraged from entering Juarez because of the high amount of crime.  When is Mexico going to clean up the drug cartels?  There is no immigration reform as long as we don't have secure borders -- without that no reform will work.

Chris Christie Rates High in Latest Poll from Quinnipiac

The Republican primary will be adding another candidate tomorrow with Newt Gingrich announcing.  Governor Mitch Daniels of Indiana is sounding more and more like he will be getting in the race soon probably in time for the next debate.  The first debate we had Herman Cain, Tim Pawlenty, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul, with Mitt Romney turning down the invite for South Carolina but is signed up for the next debate.  Donald Trump, Michelle Bachmann, and Rudy Giuliani are making noise they might get in the race.  The GOP field will be adding more in the days ahead which should make for an interesting spring and summer.  

Of the current slate of announced or ready to announce candidates we see Herman Cain as being the most popular. One of the funniest quotes of this campaign so far came out of Cain, ""I guess I am a racist" for opposing Obama which shows how idiotic Obama and his campaign are to accuse people who oppose him as racist. Talk about thin-skinned -- Obama goes to the top of the list.  Cain brings life to the campaign because he will stand up and be counted and by all accounts won the debate in South Carolina.  When you have a sense of humor it goes a long way in getting people on board because it means you don't take yourself too seriously like the current occupant of the White House whose number one word is "I."

Wish list of some Republicans who want different choices is led by Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, Governor Rick Perry of Texas, and recently added Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.

According to a Quinnipiac poll in which voters rated their feelings about politicians and other national figures, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is “the hottest politician on the thermometer.” (Of note: 55 percent of American voters said they don’t know enough about Christie to form an option.)

Former speaker Nancy Pelosi received the coolest rating from voters, while Majority Leader Harry Reid ranks next lowest, followed by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

I would place some people in the poll higher and others lower, but it strikes me that the person at the top and the people at the bottom are more or less where they belong. Beyond that, it should reassure conservatives that Governor Christie, much more than Ms. Palin, is the type of figure the public is looking for from its political class.

One can sense how much Palin has been diminished in the public’s esteem in recent months. Her endless Twittering, her lack of basic knowledge about public policy and inability to articulate a compelling case for conservatism, and her striking sense of grievances and resentments (some of which are understandable) have come at quite a cost.

Ms. Palin has also suffered in contrast to other Republicans, and most especially Republican governors, many of whom embody a maturity, a proper governing temperament, and a seriousness of purpose. Compared to what Christie, Mitch Daniels, Scott Walker, Bob McDonnell, Bobby Jindal, and other lawmakers are doing, Palin seems to be shrinking before our eyes.

High negative numbers do not win elections for any one.  No matter what some people want to say, Republicans need those independents and Democrat conservatives to win the Presidency.

In the days ahead we are going to start looking at the pros and cons of each of the candidates.  Personally the candidates that have not announced are intriguing and think can energize the base better.  We are not enamored with anyone who ran in 2008 and couldn't beat McCain in the primary starting with Romney and Paul and maybe Huckabee and Giuliani who are the latest to make noise about running.

A quick look at 2008 candidates who have committees or thinking of running:

We like Rudy a lot but doubt he will never make it through the GOP primaries in some states because of his stand on abortion first and foremost.  We understand that he has backed adoption over abortion for years but that prosecutor comes out in him that until the law of the land is changed on abortion there is nothing that can be done.  He also opposes federal funding of abortions but that was missed by some conservatives in their constant attacks.  We also know he fell on his sword for McCain by going to Florida early the same thing Fred Thompson did in South Carolina.

Huckabee is the former televangelist who governed  at times to the left of Bill Clinton in Arkansas raising fees to bring in more money and as Governor was against home schools before being for them when he ran for President.  We don't seem him as a candidate this time around as he would have to give up his TV show on Fox News.

Romney is a non-starter for a lot of us.  During 2008 when he would hold Town Halls, he would only allow Mormons or state staffers to ask questions.  We oppose his stand on healthcare and frankly are not interested in his spin about Romneycare as we know people from MA who went to NH in 2008 to work for McCain as they didn't like Romney as Governor.  He is too closely tied to Bush 41 and Rove for us.  In fact we wish that Bush 41 and the people who surround him would stand down this time around and let Republican rank and file choose our candidate.  Rove's attacks on Trump who he perceived as a threat to Romney were way over the top and cost him credibility when you find out he most likely is going to be helping Romney.

Ron Paul is not a serious candidate that could challenge the leaders but it gets his message out and he makes debates interesting.  His support on the net and at events is very loud but does not transfer into a lot of votes in the primaries.

There is absolutely zero desire from a lot of us to support anyone who ran in 2008 and couldn't beat McCain even after some Romney people tried to tank his campaign.  McCain came back to win the nomination thanks to Rudy and Thompson people.  It is time for new blood to run who can beat Obama.  Do the announced candidates have the backbone to withstand the onslaught the media is about to throw at them?   We will find out soon enough.

Obama Assesses GOP Budget: 'Wrong for America'

We have a different take on that headline from the Obama Saturday morning address to America -- Obama is 'Wrong for America' as he seeks to make sure his major donors continue to get our tax dollars while ignoring what is best for America. His speech Wednesday night offered nothing new -- tax and spend. He took a table knife to the budget he submitted and expected the American people to rave what a wonderful President he was.

Obama will never understand most of the American people are now having a hard time with the rising gas prices caused in part by this Administration's moratorium still in place in the Gulf except for one permit we heard was issued. His administration is not doing any better in issuing permits on new drilling here on land. They have essentially shut down new exploration for oil and gas in the United States.

We are now even more dependent on what happens in the Middle East that Obama helped stir up with his inept foreign policy and a Secretary of State that is out of touch with reality. Bad combination that has made the middle east worse and caused the price of a barrel of oil to rise significantly. You don't waffle like is the trademark of Obama and you certainly don't take the side of the rebels with leaders and members of Al Qaeda as a major part of their group.

None of us have to worry as we are reminded by this Administration inflation is not that bad and we have to sacrifice by paying more for gasoline. Why? Since the Government doesn't consider the price of gasoline and groceries in the inflation numbers, the inflation is going to remain lower than it actually is. Tell that to my bank account that there is no inflation. So sick and tired of the weasel wording you get from this Administration on oil and gas along with groceries as he jets around the country on our dime wasting jet fuel and throwing parties in the White House. Someone needs to tell the President that is not a king or a dictator. It is time he and his family quit abusing the perks that come with being President and realize what the average American is facing. Time for Obama rhetoric is OVER!

Obama could have said in his speech that he made a lot of mistakes with the economy when he took office as he was inexperienced and that he wasted too much of the American tax dollars on an agenda that sounded good like bailing out the banks, GM, and Chrysler but in reality it failed as the stimulus money was wasted in a lot of instances. Then he could have said that he will work across the aisle to do what is best for the American people.

Not Obama -- he has chosen the confrontational approach toward Republicans who have some very good ideas on how to get this Country back on its feet. Obama would rather play the senior citizen card that has worked in the past that Republicans want to take away social security checks. Obama is a typical politician from the far left or far right that only their agenda is correct.

Wish that our Senator, Dr. Tom Coburn (R-OK), would run for President because he truly believes that working together you can solve the problems of America. Every time he has reached out his hand to Obama, he gets it bit off which shows that Obama has no intention of working with Republicans. He would rather be in campaign mode on the attack.

Poorest example of a President we have ever experienced in this Country which is over 200 years old with Obama as the 45th President. This better teach voters a lesson that you never elect someone as President who was raised in his early years in a foreign country whose parents were not in the military but as an adopted son of an Indonesian. It doesn't look like in his life that he ever was friends with people you meet on the street every day throughout Middle America. The same people who turn out in big numbers for a spring football scrimmage and to see the alumni play flag football.

The people behind Obama pulled a coup in getting an inexperienced, far left, lazy politician elected. He has proven he didn't deserve to be President and it is now up to common sense Americans from the right, middle, and left to see that he is not reelected. Let the far extremes of both parties duke it out as we can unite to elect someone who understands you have to work together for the betterment of all Americans. The 'my way or no way' we see out of Obama/Pelosi and the far left is matched but what we are seeing out of the far right. Both groups see working across the aisle as the greatest sin you can do and go on the attack when they don't get their way.

In the weeks ahead we will start looking in-depth at some of the candidates who have announced exploratory committees and are close to making a formal announcement to run for President like former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty who learned as Governor with a full Democrat legislature that you have to work together to get things accomplished. Yet he was willing to stand his ground when he felt it was in the best interest of the people of Minnesota and tell the Democrats NO!

Then we have Donald Trump who is making all the noise. Like him or hate him, he is not afraid to say what he thinks. He is saying things a lot of people are thinking. Will he run? We have no clue but it sure is fun to watch the left squirm when he talks.

Rick Santorum surprised a lot of people by taking the straw poll in one of the SC counties. Unlike CPAC, the straw poll was not bought by the candidate busing in his people. These were activists voting.

Newt Gingrich has put out some interesting documents but we don't see his chances for the GOP nomination getting off the ground. He is more cabinet material in our opinion.

Herman Cain may be the sleeper candidate in all of this as he is slowly picking up support. We also have Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels who will decide after the legislative sessions is done if he will run for President.

My favorite, Governor Rick Perry of Texas, is making no moves to run and my second favorite, Dr. Coburn, is doing the same. That leaves a wide open field for my support and that of others although most of the people I talk with do not want anyone from the 2008 campaign which was such a disaster.

When you have former candidates that in 2010 were told they were not needed in some states to campaign for candidates, they do not need apply for 2012. The talk media needs to stay out of the primary for the most part with the horrible job they did in 2010 helping give us some bad candidates out of primaries in the Senate.

What we do know is that we need to field a strong candidate that can withstand the Obama media attacks. We don't care about Obama attacks he reads from his teleprompter and neither do most people. When you put your own Vice President to sleep with your speech, your rhetoric is wearing thin. It is the constant attacks by the Obama media as they try and get him reelected. They were a major part of his campaign strategy in 2008 by covering up his gaffes, his background, and attacking McCain at every turn. The Obama media became a part of the Obama campaign and unfortunately too many Americans fell for their spin.
