Gov Christie: The polls aren't rigged against Romney

Yet another surrogate of Mitt Romney’s seems to be suffering from message confusion or a personal agenda. The Romney campaign has been busy telling the press how unfair the debates are going to be because Barack Obama is Superman of the Spoken Word whereas poor Mitt Romney has only been practicing every single day for weeks now. They set Romney up as the victim of a President Obama’s unfair skills, hoping to lower the bar for a Romney handicap similar to the one given to Sarah Palin in 2008, when a wink passed for solid debate skills. 

But today Chris Christie told NBC’s David Gregory that Romney was going to change the entire narrative of the campaign on Wednesday’s debate.

Christie promised, “On Wednesday night Mitt Romney is going to be standing on the same stage as the president of the United States. And I am telling you David, come Thursday morning the entire narrative of this race is going to change.” 

Christie buttressed this thought with the anecdotal notation that “the general public that I speak to in New Jersey and elsewhere are just beginning to really tune in to this race,” therefor the swing states are not paying attention to the race either, in Christie’s mind.

You heard it from Chris Christie’s mouth – this debate is going to turn the race around. So by Friday we should be seeing Romney soar in the swing states once he reintroduces himself to America for the 800th time. This time, this time, they’re gonna believe. 

Christie stuck the knife in all of the way today, declaring, “I’m not going to sit here and complain about coverage of the campaign. As a candidate, if you do that, you’re losing.” But that is all that the Romney campaign has been doing, up to and including their hysteria over the debates, and Christie knows it.

Romney must be thinking that with friends like Christie he doesn't need any enemies while the rest of us on the outside looking in at the Romney campaign are chuckling.

Chris Christie went on ABC’s This Week supposedly to defend Mitt Romney, but he ended up praising an Obama ad that claimed Romney will cut taxes on the rich.

Looks like more people think Christie may be jumping off the train before it totally wrecks:

I don’t think the Romney campaign will be happy with their top surrogate calling an Obama ad a “great ad,” and saying it looks nice and sounds nice. What Christie should have said was that this ad was the worst thing he has even seen in his life. He should have been outraged by it. Instead of defending Romney, he tried to advance his own agenda and stature within the Republican Party by calling Obama liar. Chris Christie was more interesting in advancing his own ambitions than helping Mitt Romney save his campaign. It was bizarre that Christie would lend credibility to the ad by praising it in any way, unless he had his own motives in mind.

After his keynote speech at the Republican convention, it was pretty obvious that Chris Christie wants Romney to lose so that he can run in 2016. Christie has been spending time in Iowa laying the groundwork for 2016. The New Jersey governor wants to look like a good party man by supporting Romney, but his actions like barely mentioning Romney at the convention and not very subtly praising Obama’s anti-Romney ad tell a different tale. 

Chris Christie is now going on television and making stuff up for Romney while praising his opponent’s advertising against him. 

It is no secret that many in the Republican Party personally dislike Romney, so the question becomes is the Republican Party really this incompetent, or is GOP now out to sabotage their own nominee? 

Republicans are abandoning ship in their own subtle or not so subtle ways, and the Mitt Romney is increasingly being left to fend for himself against Obama.

Seems the New Jersey Governor isn't buying into the Rove/Morris koolaid either.  Do believe that it is safe to assume if Chris Christie runs in 2016 that Karl Rove and Dick Morris will not be part of his campaign.  These comments say it all about the state of the Romney campaign and that Christie is not willing to go down with a sinking ship.

Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie insists that the many presidential polls showing President Barack Obama with an edge over GOP hopeful Mitt Romney aren’t rigged, no matter what so-called “poll truthers” like Karl Rove and Dick Morris say.

“I don’t buy that,” Christie told ABC host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. “You look at every poll, you look at its methodology, you can say whether it’s a good or bad poll.” 

“But do I think there’s a concerted effort to skew the polls against Gov. Romney? No, I don’t buy that,” he said.

Christie just took on Morris and Rove after their comments this week.  Morris in a hot pink shirt guaranteed a Romney victory:

During a segment last week on Fox News, Morris had claimed that Romney was “in a very strong position” even though polls showed him down in all nine battleground states. 

When I saw Morris' and then Rove's remarks replayed, all I could do is laugh at their thinking Americans are buying into their koolaid.  Looks like Gov Christie had the same reaction and wasn't afraid to come out and say it!  Very refreshing!

Will the Romney supporters like pundit Mark Levin start trashing Christie now like they did Bill Kristol?  Can just imagine the conservative talk media will be over the top at Christie's comments on polling as it is a 180 from their narrative that polls are rigged which Rush, Hannity, and other pundits including Fox News  have been touting.  

What is Wrong with this Supreme Court?

What happened to State's Rights?  It is obvious that this Supreme Court who struck down the Montana campaign finance law has overstepped.  This decision is Corporate rights yes and States Rights no.  When did conservatives quit believing in state's rights?

For 100 years Montana had their campaign finance reform in place that was put there by the vote of the people of Montana to counter the corruption of the legislature by two silver mining companies who had bought and paid for office holders in the Montana Legislature.  Now the SCOTUS has decided that Montana citizens 100 years ago were wrong.

I cannot believe this court has inserted themselves in state finance laws ensuring the more corruption will take place in elections.  The very idea that a Corporation is a person who can give unlimited amounts goes against the very fabric of fair elections.  Individual citizens are limited to spend $2500 in the primary and another $2500 in the general for federal candidates but the Koch Brothers can spend whatever millions they want for a candidate from their corporation and are now pledging $400 million to buy this election.

It is time the American people stood up and ignored the campaign ads from the Super PACs and vote for the person they feel is the best person for the position.  These rich billionaires who pay a small percentage in taxes are out to take over America and destroy the middle class.  When I first heard someone say that I thought they were nuts, but not any more.  Some of the wealthy of this Country like the Koch Brothers are definitely out to buy a President and members of Congress and are basically telling the middle class that we don't count -- only the wealthy and their money now count in this Country.

Yesterday when Justice Scalia went after Obama on immigration, I was appalled at his venom.  When you are named to the SCOTUS, would think you would be held to a higher standard but conservatives like Limbaugh applauded Scalia because he took after Obama.  What was Scalia thinking with the attack on this President or any President?  What if a more liberal justice had taken after President Bush.  The hypocrisy of the conservative pundits is beyond belief today.  Now if the Obama order on immigration is challenged, Scalia must recuse.  That was stupid and childish.

Last night  I became totally embarrassed by the Republican Party and their sell out to corporations and the big money because that is the only explanation for the Romney win when in the early states he didn't even reach 40% of the vote but he was shoved down our throats.  Now the SCOTUS has interfered in State's Rights in a 100-year old Montana Law and some Republicans thinks it is great.

This is not the Republican Party I voted for the first time in 1968.  If things keep up like this, I am not sure I will continue to remain a Republican.  I am not alone as more and more Republicans are questioning what has happened to the Republican Party that is now bought and paid for by big donors.  Rasmussen has this gem today that more than half of Americans don't believe either party represents the American people::

That is very high percentage and shows there are major problems looming in both parties thanks to these two candidates neither who should be President IMHO.  How Republicans are managing to blow this election and drive long time Republicans to vote for a Libertarian candidate who is more Republican than the Republican candidate is one for the record books.

Last week Speaker Boehner said Obama was part of the cover-up on Fast and Furious because he invoked Executive Privilege.  Did he say the same thing when President Bush claimed executive privilege on the firing of US Attorneys by Karl Rove since he was not a cabinet secretary?  Now Cong Issa has declared that he believes the White House knew nothing.  I disagreed when people first said it was a witch hunt but after learning more, it sure looks like the House Leadership will do anything to embarrass Obama to help Romney.  Issa told the truth on Sunday so will the Speaker apologize or is he going to continue to be a hypocrite.

As you can tell, I am totally fed up with the leadership of the National Republican Party who seem to be bought and paid for by the big donors like the Koch Brothers who want to run America and have no rules or regulations including minimum wage.  People like the Koch Brothers are the reason we have unions.

When I can watch MSNBC and discover is it more honest on the SCOTUS rulings then Fox News, there is a real problem.  Michael Medved did a really good job with his appearance on MSNBC.  He gave straight answers which is missing in a lot of conservative pundits as they have turned into pretzels many times to defend Republicans of today and the nominee Romney.  Some have defended Romney more than they ever did President GW Bush. It makes you wonder what is their agenda because Bush was a conservative and Romney has always governed as much more liberal who never met a fee he didn't like as Governor of MA.

Today I voted in the Oklahoma Republican Primary and at least I didn't want to vote 'none of the above' like I did in our Presidential Primary.  Making progress.

Santorum Leads Romney in Latest Public Policy Polling 38% to 23%

Interesting day with polling numbers which we are usually not inclined to consider but the numbers from Public Policy Polling (PPP) is a three day average that also seems reflected in other polling that uses rolling averages.  It sure has turned the Republican Primary upside down and shows voters that Romney is not inevitable like the establishment types want us to believe.  Looks like conservatives are finally speaking up at the voting booth and not buying into the Romney hype.  How many voters in Florida that cast their ballots early wish they had them back to vote for Santorum or Paul after the Florida primary turned nasty especially on the Romney side with unrelenting ads attacking Newt Gingrich.

Always will think Newt made  mistake going back at Romney with the same kind of venom.  Newt also complained too much about the media and the debate where they asked the crowd to stay silent which came off as whining and people asking if Newt was saying he cannot debate unless he has the crowd on his side.  There are times that Newt would be better off to say nothing.  You can go after another candidate and get your point across without all the venom we saw out of Romney in Florida and expect to see out of him against Santorum now.

Today we are learning that all that venom has taken its toll in polling and from the voters who were not big Romney supporters to begin with as most conservatives would have preferred to never see Romney on the ballot again after 2008.  Why he ran in 2012 is beyond me when most conservatives couldn't stand him in 2008 but guess he figured with getting the establishment/inside the beltway types on his side he had it made.  It also makes it ludicrous when he talks about he is not an inside the beltway type when he is bought and paid for by Wall Street and "K" Street.  Maybe Romney has not served in DC but he has ties all over DC and with the financial sector in NYC which makes you an insider.

Update: I hit “publish” and then immediately saw the latest tweets from PPP. Not only does Santorum have a “healthy” lead in their new national poll, apparently he’s also leading in Michigan, home to former Gov. George Romney and his son Mitt. Quote: “This may be the biggest surge yet”.

After reading that last comment on his post, decided to take a look at PPP website to see what were the latest numbers released this morning which shows Romney tanking and also learning that in the first night of polling in Michigan, PPP twittered that Santorum was leading.  If Santorum comes close in MI or even the fact he is leading there now should be a real blow to Romney.  Republicans are seeing through his pretense of being conservative.

February 11, 2012Santorum surges into the lead

Riding a wave of momentum from his trio of victories on Tuesday Rick Santorum has opened up a wide lead in PPP's newest national poll. He's at 38% to 23% for Mitt Romney, 17% for Newt Gingrich, and 13% for Ron Paul. 

Part of the reason for Santorum's surge is his own high level of popularity. 64% of voters see him favorably to only 22% with a negative one. But the other, and maybe more important, reason is that Republicans are significantly souring on both Romney and Gingrich. Romney's favorability is barely above water at 44/43, representing a 23 point net decline from our December national poll when he was +24 (55/31). Gingrich has fallen even further. A 44% plurality of GOP voters now hold a negative opinion of him to only 42% with a positive one. That's a 34 point drop from 2 months ago when he was at +32 (60/28). 

Santorum is now completely dominating with several key segments of the electorate, especially the most right leaning parts of the party. With those describing themselves as 'very conservative,' he's now winning a majority of voters at 53% to 20% for Gingrich and 15% for Romney. Santorum gets a majority with Tea Party voters as well at 51% to 24% for Gingrich and 12% for Romney. And with Evangelicals he falls just short of a majority with 45% to 21% for Gingrich and 18% for Romney.

The part I found most interesting from the Hot Air article other than the polling was Romney meeting with conservative leaders and seemingly not backing down on his ruthless attacks he will now aim at Santorum like he did Gingrich in Florida.  Does he think the Republican voters are going to reward such a nasty campaigner with votes?  Saying he cannot control his Super PAC is a joke when talking to political pros.  All he has to do is tell his Super PAC to knock it off and they will comply and if they don't, then he gets surrogates to take them down.   IMHO Romney will make a big mistake in attacking Santorum with the same gutter politics he used on Newt.  His Corporate vulture stripes are starting to show in this campaign as he is operating this campaign like it is a hostile takeover and it is not going over well.

Mitt Romney met privately with a group of conservative activists and opinion leaders Thursday, on the eve of his speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. In a wide-ranging discussion, a number of participants urged Romney to refrain from attacking rival Rick Santorum with the scorched-earth intensity that he directed at Newt Gingrich… 

“He said Rick has to be held up to the same scrutiny as everyone else,” says one meeting participant. (This account is based on conversations with three people who were in the room.) Romney specifically mentioned hitting Santorum on his record on earmarks and other federal spending. 

It’s not clear whether Romney’s answer satisfied the group. In general, a number of participants don’t want to see a repeat of the Romney-Gingrich attacks because a) they feel Santorum doesn’t deserve it, and b) they believe the negativity has been bad for Republicans overall. Romney told the group that the attacks on Gingrich were not his doing but rather the work of the super PAC that works on Romney’s behalf but not under his control.

I can’t believe he tried the “I have no control over my Super PAC” crap on a bunch of savvy political insiders. Good lord. The quandary for Mitt here is that there is a decent line of attack available against Santorum but, for understandable reasons, he almost certainly can’t use it. Namely, he could argue that Santorum’s as unelectable as Gingrich because once the media starts zeroing in on his positions on social issues, that’ll become the focus of campaign coverage instead of the economy and suddenly independents will start to drift away. 

He’s got three problems with that argument, though. 

• One: Unlike Gingrich, Santorum’s favorable numbers are as good as Romney’s right now, and in some polls better. Doesn’t mean they’ll stay that way but it’s hard to point fingers when your own numbers are worse.  

• Two: Obviously, Romney’s conservative credentials are already so suspect that he can’t afford to hit Santorum from the left on social issues. And the more Planned Parenthood and O’s contraception mandate are in the news, the truer that is. 

• Three: Santorum could counter that, in light of the solid jobs numbers in the last unemployment report, it’s actually Romney who’s on shaky ground in the general. If the economy starts to heat up, Romney’s left with no argument for his candidacy but Santorum will still have cultural issues to fight on. Read Matthew Continetti’s latest post for an elaboration on that point. If all you’ve got is “electability” and the chance of a poor economy persisting into the fall, you don’t have much. And even if the bad economy does persist, any GOP nominee will benefit, not just Romney. 

For what it’s worth, the head of the group that runs CPAC told the Daily Mail today that he can see Jeb Bush emerging as a consensus choice at the convention if Super Tuesday ends up being split three ways. Remember, Ohio’s the big one.  (snip)

Are establishment members now turning their eyes toward Jeb as a consensus candidate if we have a brokered convention?  Is Romney their stalking horse for Jeb?  Don't get me wrong as I like Jeb but having him come out of the convention as the consensus candidate is as likely to happen as a colony on the moon that becomes the 51st state.  Cannot believe anyone would even float the idea of Jeb.  The establishment types led by Bush 41 will NEVER understand conservatives from the looks of it.  The comments at the bottom of the Hot Air article about Jeb Bush being a consensus candidate are not very nice for the most part. 

Morning Examiner: Perry is the frontrunner by far

On June 4th, 2011, Romney reasserts his belief that humans have contributed to global warming   Today this gem comes out that he has flipped and now makes the environmentalists mad at him.  Anyone with a brain knows he flipped because of the traction that Rick Perry is getting in the polling. Romney is another one of the stick a finger in the wind to see which way it is blowing:

Two months ago, Mitt Romney said of global warming, “I believe based on what I read that the world is getting warmer. And number two, I believe that humans contribute to that… and so I think it’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases.”But then, right wing activists got upset with Romney for expressing the scientific consensus on global warming. They wanted Romney to get ideological on the issue, regardless of matter what scientific research indicated. 

So, today, Mitt Romney caved in. He flopped. He flipped. He said, “Do I think the world’s getting hotter? Yeah, I don’t know that but I think that it is. I don’t know if it’s mostly caused by humans. What I’m not willing to do is spend trillions of dollars on something I don’t know the answer to.”

So, Mitt Romney once said that global warming is caused by humans. Then the right wing radicals asked him to change his mind. Now he says he’s not sure about that. 

Once Mitt Romney said that he supported reducing greenhouse gases that cause global warming. Then the right wing radicals asked him to change his mind. Now Romney says that he doesn’t want to spend to reduce greenhouse gases. 

Given this change, it’s extremely clear where Mitt Romney stands on environmental issues: Wherever the anti-science fringe of the Republican Party tells him to stand.

Maybe this writer should go join the Huntsman for President campaign since Romney disappointed him with his flip flop.  What is it with MA politicians and their flip flopping on issues they were for before they are against?  Do they honestly think that we won't notice?

Nice to know that Senator Inhofe and Governor Perry are right wing radicals because that makes me as well as I fully support the two on their stance on Global Warming and believe Romney is flip flopping to try and get closer to conservative thinking but that's not going to work.  We heard loud and clear what he had to say two months ago.

As some of us have been saying all along, we didn't want anyone in the race for 2012 that ran against McCain in 2008 in the primary starting with Romney.  Except for Ron Paul the rest have been smart enough not to run.  What makes Romney think we have changed our minds about him in four years.  In fact, I like his agenda less today than I did in 2008.

Don't want an east coast elitists in the White House period no matter the party who is tied to Wall Street.  That goes even more for Huntsman who likes Obama better than Republicans.  From This Week

On This Week, during a discussion of presidential politics, the candidacy of Jon Huntsman was briefly mentioned and conservative commentator George Will did not seem too impressed. 

Despite Chrystia Freeland hyping Huntsman as the “darling of elites” and as someone who “talks in complete sentences,” Will cautioned anyone against getting too excited. 

Will described Huntsman as someone who was attempting to emulate Ronald Reagan, but apparently didn’t understand politics like him: 

“In almost every cycle there’s a Republican who appeals to people who don’t really very much like Republicans . . . Mr. Huntsman’s announcement that he would take the high road had a whiff of moral arrogance about it and we will see. He said ‘I’m not going to run down my opponent.’ He stood where Ronald Reagan stood. And when Ronald Reagan stood there in 1980 he said this about his opponent, Jimmy Carter, ‘A litany of despair of broken promises of sacred trusts abandoned and forgotten.’ That’s politics."

Until Governor Perry announced he was running, there seemed to be little energy in the campaign and most people I know were hoping for a game changer with a ton of experience and a personality to get everyone excited.  Less than two weeks ago, Governor Perry announced he was running for office excitement took over the Republican primary as we had a candidate who was not afraid to stand up and say what he means.  He has never been one to stick a finger in the wind to see which way it is blowing.  (understatement)

Cracked up laughing when I saw the headline last night 'Obama team to Texas Democrats: It’s time to start attacking Rick Perry.'  Note to White House:  Texas Democrats have been attacking Governor Perry since his first race as a Republican for Ag Commissioner when he beat Hightower.  They have thrown anything they thought would stick whether true or not and now the Obama people want Texas Dems to do what they have been doing almost on a daily basis for years?  They don't understand Texans:

What started out as an ad campaign slogan for litter was picked up by many Texans telling others not to Mess with Texas.  The Obama White House hoping to score points with Texas Democrats going after Perry is laughable and will only rile up Republicans, Independents, and conservative Dems to support him more.  Does Obama still think he can win Texas?  I was shocked when Obama said he thought he could win Texas.  There are not enough Civil War Veteran votes to put him over the top before Perry got in the race.  With Governor Perry now having announced, no way does Obama even come close.

There is no question about it. Less than two full weeks after he announced he was in the race, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has solidly established himself as the frontrunner. 

In the month prior to his announcement, Perry trailed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the polls by an average of seven points, 21 percent to 14 percent. But since he got into the race August 13th, three polls have been conducted and all three have Perry up by double-digits over Romney. 

Gallup‘s poll, taken August 17th through the 21st, has Perry up 12 points over Romney, 29-17 percent. A Rasmussen poll conducted August 15th has Perry up 11 points, 29-18 percent. And a August 18th through the 21st Public Policy Polling poll has Perry up by 13 points, 33-20 percent. 

The Gallup poll, released yesterday, is full of more bad news for Romney. Perry beats him in every Republican subgroup except for “East” and “Liberal/Moderate.” Worse, as The New York Times Nate Silver notes, Perry’s numbers have a much better potential for growth. Only two-thirds of Republican voters currently recognize Perry’s name compared to 86 percent for Romney. That means 4 in 10 Republicans who have heard of Perry already have him as their first choice. That is double the fraction for Romney. 

There have not been as many post-announcement polls done at the state level, but Perry has rocketed to first place in PPP’s latest Iowa poll. Despite skipping the Ames Straw Poll, Perry tops Romney 22 to 19 percent with Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., in third at 18 percent. 

According to GOP rules, the first four primary contests are Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. Romney better hope his lead in New Hampshire holds or this could end up being a really short race.

Note:  There is a state missing --  first four primary contests are Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.  If the 4th run is Michigan, what a joke.   Turns out it is Nevada not Michigan which brings up the question why unless it is because it is a Western state.

Multiple states, including Arizona, Florida and Michigan, are threatening to hold early primaries in violation of party rules that protect Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina as the first four nominating states. No state other than the first four is allowed to have a caucus or primary contest prior to March 6, 2012. 

Cain was beating Romney in Nevada last month which is interesting that Romney is not winning Nevada.  Now we will see where Perry stacks up in Nevada as we would expect him to do well.

How about a Perry/Cain ticket -- long time Governor with a successful businessman.  We might as well start throwing out VP candidates since everyone else seems to be part of that game.  Herman Cain is a natural born citizen which makes him eligible to be President according to the Constitution.  This site will not ignore the reality of natural born like some sites have been doing.  Rick Perry and the former head of Godfather Pizza -- interesting dynamic.

Bobby Eberle: Election Polling is All about the Spin (Understatement)

Media spin is in a full speed ahead mode to try and protect Democrat seats with some of the poll numbers we have been seeing. Love it when they use registered voters not likely voters. Using only registered voters has been notorius for giving bad numbers but always helps the Democrats as there are more registered Democrats throughout the Country so that is going to skew the polling not to mention the number of fraudulent voters on the rolls thanks to ACORN.

What are members of the national media going to do on the evening of November 2nd. Is MSNBC going into a total meltdown mode with Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann? It might be fun to watch but even that won't make us turn to MSNBC. The one to watch is going to be CNN since they are under new management. Will they spin or tell it like it is? Watch for a Juan Williams meltdown on Fox News! Should be an interesting evening to watch the cable news although no MSNBC in this house.

We laughed in 2004 about the polls that were far apart that made zero sense but 'miraculously' tightened and flipped right before elections. The only poll that counts are on election day. Turnout will be the key for Republicans to win big on November 2nd.

Election Polling is All about the Spin

Election Day is just a month away, and already media outlets are trying to spin the election polling. Headlines are popping up such as "Has the GOP peaked?" which are intended to cast doubt on the undeniable wave sweeping the country. The fact is, if you look at the polls without the spin, you'll see the possibility of the Democrats suffering major defeats. However, the ballots are not cast today. There is still much to do, and there are plenty of opportunities for the media to help spin this election.

First, a look at some numbers. A newly-released Gallup poll shows that Republicans are leading Democrats in the "generic ballot poll" by 46% to 43%. Republicans have led for months on the generic ballot question, but the real test is how LIKELY voters feel. There are many, many registered voters who will not be setting foot in the voting booth. A more accurate assessment is to gauge the sentiments of likely voters.

In the case of likely voters, the results change dramatically. With a "high turnout" on Election Day, Republicans lead 53% to 40%. With a low turnout, the lead is 56% to 38%. In either case, it doesn't look good for Democrats, and as Gallup points out, the real key is that "independents in both likely voter models skew strongly toward the Republican candidate.



A new Rasmussen Reports poll shows a similar 3-point edge for Republicans on the generic congressional ballot. As pointed out in the article, however, "among voters not affiliated with either major party, Republicans hold an 18-point lead." Rasmussen also notes that for the second consecutive month, the number of Americans who identify themselves as Democrats has fallen to a record low."

But this is NOT the time to be complacent. Investors.com reminds readers that there is plenty of spin out there claiming that "Democrats may avoid a wipeout in a month. Martin Frost is even so bold as to suggest that Democrats will keep the House." This is a desperate attempt to generate some excitement so that Democrat voters will turn out. Conservatives need to do the same thing and always keep in mind that the media are not on our side.

There is a lot of work to do between now and Election Day, and the only ones on YOUR side are your fellow grassroots conservatives. The elections will be won by getting people to the polls who believe in lower taxes, less government, and more freedom. The media are not on our side, but we don't need them to get the job done.

We would guess that the people of Florida definitely care who he caucus' with. Guess you might say that Crist is starting to lose it after the latest poll showing Rubio 10 points ahead came out.

National Debt Tied with Terrorism as the Greatest Perceived Threat to our Future Well-Being

We found this gem at the bottom of Dr. Coburn's email very telling:

Just The Facts: A 2008 review by the Internal Revenue Service found that an estimated 100,000 federal employees were delinquent on their federal taxes, for a total of nearly $1 billion in back taxes. If you include federal retirees and the military, the amount jumps to $3 billion.

That is a pretty telling paragraph -- people involved with the Federal Government don't worry about their taxes. There has to be a better way than the Tax Code we have today. Just look at how many tax laws are added each year and then changed again. A simplified tax structure would help cut down unnecessary paperwork and would be more fair to everyone.

Great to see the American people waking up to what is happening in Congress and the White House with runaway spending. Every time we turn around Obama is promising more money overseas when we are running such a huge deficit. He doesn't care as he takes on a road to bankruptcy as long as he gets to do what he wants.

We could save a lot if Obama would be grounded and not be able to use Air Force One to take a trip to a state like Ohio where he was on the ground 59 minutes and gave a 12 minute speech at a cost estimate of $500,000 to $1,000,000. Then we learn that his wife and daughters are vacationing in California on our nickle. Who keeps track of the White House budget or did the Democrats in Congress give him unlimited funds to spend what he wants? That is also something not going over well with the American people.

In fact, most people I talk to in person, on the phone, or on line have frankly had it with Obama, Pelosi, and Reid treating the United States Treasury like their piggy bank to spend at will. Pelosi and Hoyer have no intention of even doing a budget resolution this year in defiance of the Budget Law from 1974. Are they afraid the American people will see their runaway spending and what they have added to the deficit before the election?

This email from Dr. Tom Coburn brings good news and as Republicans we need to drive home that the runaway spending and adding to the deficit has to stop as the Federal Government needs to go on a diet from spending money they don't have. We need to support Senators Thune, DeMint, and Coburn in their efforts to reign in federal spending by sending more Republicans to the Senate like Marco Rubio, Sharron Angle, Mike Lee, and other Conservative Republican Senate candidates who are being elected in primaries this summer.

A recent poll indicated that the national debt is tied with terrorism as the greatest perceived threat to our future well-being. In the Gallup poll to survey the concerns of Americans, 79 percent of Americans now rank the national debt as an extremely serious or serious concern.

Twice as many Americans rate government debt as an extremely serious concern as those concerned with the environment and global warming.

It should not be surprising to see terrorism listed as a major concern for most Americans, as it has been for the past nine years. The threat posed by our enemies is immediate and it must be met with absolute American strength. The fact that concerns over mounting government debt now match concerns regarding terrorism is telling, and frankly, gives me some hope that we can end the spending addiction in Washington before it is too late.

This poll confirms something that you and I already know. When given the facts about the mismanagement of our federal government, our neighbors, friends and family instantly recognize the threat and understand that reckless spending is not just innocent child’s play by our political leaders. It is malpractice that threatens each and every one of us.

This week, Senators Thune, DeMint and I continue to challenge a plan by Senate leaders to pass an “extenders” bill that will add billions more to our deficit. I have offered 20 specific amendments that will ensure that not a single dime is added to our $1.6 trillion budget deficit for 2010.

Frankly, it is unlikely the Senate will accept my cost cutting and government efficiency amendments. True change, the kind that will interrupt our current path to insolvency, will come when the voice of the American people—fully armed with the facts—is heard in Washington. The Gallup poll is proof that we are making a difference that will soon be heard in Washington. The majority of Americans now know the threat posed by reckless spending. Now, it is our job to make sure that our friends and neighbors get to the polls on Election Day.

Cooking the Polls?

What a shock? NOT! How many other polling companies use bad methodology like polling 45% Dem and 19% Republican? This whole industry is suspect with the fact they tend not to poll in Middle America, but want us to believe it is a poll across the Country. We doubt that a lot of polling companies could withstand an audit of how they poll, but this company seems worse then most.

Silver crunched five years worth of their polling data, and found their reported results followed a suspicious pattern which traditionally suggests fraud. The five-year distribution of the numbers 'is not random. It's not close to random.' The polling firm had already been reprimanded by the American Association for Public Opinion Research for failing to disclose their methodology, though the firm argues they did comply with the organization's request. Their response to Silver's accusation? 'We have a call in to our attorney on this and fully intend to take action that will vindicate us.'"

Public says 'Nuts!' to ACORN

People need to remember that ACORN is only one of a number of socialist/progressive organizations supported through funding by George Soros either direct or indirect. They are as much responsible for the housing disaster as anyone but now Pelosi has appointed the head of Apollo another Soros funded group to look into the financial crises. Doesn't take much to connect all the dots and see it heads right back to Soros, Tides Foundation, Democracy Now, et al. They are all interconnected and finally the American people are waking up to the voter fraud group ACORN -- what name are they going to use next to hide what they do?

Public says 'Nuts!' to ACORN

Voters are saying nuts to ACORN, A Rasmussen poll on voter attitudes towards ACORN today shows that 51% of voters want the government to stop funding ACORN.

"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 17% favor continued taxpayer support of the Association for Community Organizations for Reform

Now. Thirty-two percent (32%) are not sure."

Not only do a majority of voters want to cut off funding for ACORN, the details show a negative "passion index" deeper than the Grand Canyon.

Only 15% of voters now have even a somewhat favorable opinion of ACORN, while 67% have an unfavorable view of the group. Those figures include only three percent (3%) with a very favorable opinion and 47% with a very unfavorable view.
