This morning was reading articles about the 'birther' that called out from the gallery while the Republicans were reading the Constitution. Unlike some sites, we thought that act was totally classless. Members of the gallery are privileged to witness what is happening on the floor of the House and should follow the decorum to be seen and not heard.
That said, none of us know what his birth certificate says which is sad that President Obama has let this fester for this long so the ultimate blame for all the speculation and disgust belongs on his shoulders for not releasing his birth certificate. The Governor of Hawaii comes out recently saying positively they have the original birth certificate and then we hear no more -- she won't answer questions. It would be so simple for him to have released the certified long form of the birth certificate instead of spending millions to keep it hidden. We have never been a 'birther' but anyone who says suspicions are not raised is not telling the truth. No one spends millions to keep their birth certificate private.
Like others, we believe it has more to do with who the father is on the certificate after he has spent his whole political career running as a son of Kenya. It could even be the race that is marked since his mother could have marked white and Obama would never be able to deal with that.
Whatever it is, before he runs for office that birth certificate needs to be made public and allow the American people to know if he is a natural born American citizen or not. Since his 'supposed' Father was from Kenya, his citizenship at birth would have been Britain since Kenya was not yet an independent country. His Mother at the time was not old enough to have him be a natural born citizen according to laws in place at that time. Anyone could file a birth in Hawaii in those years even if they were not born there.
A bill needs passed by Congress that states before someone runs for President a copy of their certified birth certificate needs to be presented to the Clerk of the House Representatives so that every candidate running is certified as a natural born citizen of the United States. With that, the question of where someone is born will never arise again. The certified copy costs $15 to $25 so that is a small price to pay to ensure every candidate meets the Constitutional requirements to be President of the United States.
Time for the whole truth to come out so we can stop with the guessing. Is Obama a natural born United States citizen or not? Simple to answer and release of the birth certificate will stop the speculation.
Are we holding our breath waiting for the release? No way!

Obama has already shown the OFFICIAL birth certificate of Hawaii, the certification of live birth. It is the official birth certificate. Thousands of people in Hawaii use it every year to get drivers licenses and US passports.
The officials in Hawaii (two heads of departments in a Republican governor's administration and the Republican governor herself) have confirmed the facts on Obama's birth certificate--that he was born in Hawaii in 1961.
Since the facts on Obama's official birth certificate come from the facts on the original birth certificate in the files--that is how it works, a clerk fills in the computer form from the facts on the document in the files--the facts on Obama's official birth certificate are the same as the facts on his original birth certificate.
Then why not show it? Because he doesn't have it. Hawaii did not send it to him in 2007 when he asked for it. It only sends out the new short form birth certificate that became the official birth certificate in 2001.
The birth certificate they showed on line was a phoney -- most people could see that. What is so hard about opening up his birth records? Senator McCain did.
What is even stranger is that then Speaker Pelosi had two certifications to sign from the Convention naming him the nominee and she signed the one that showed no birth certificate was used to say he was qualified to run while Sen McCain provided all the details necessary.
You still wonder why we question? He could shut up everyone by releasing the long form certified copy but no he would rather spend over $1M to keep it secret.

Cannot believe you all are still touting the one that was shall we say not his original to be kind that they posted on line and people from Hawaii said that was not an authentic birth certificate for Obama. More likely his sister's with a few changes made.
If it was real, show it to the Speaker of the House, Minority Leader, and the Clerk of the House to clear up any question if he was qualified to run. Why doesn't he do that?
What's the use?

The allegation that Obama's birth certificate was forged was checked by the McCain campaign, along with the allegation that Obama was born in Kenya, and it found both allegations false. I am told that the former attorney general of Hawaii for the last four years was a conservative Republican. If he thought that there was anything wrong with Obama’s birth certificate, he could have subpoenaed the original and taken action. But he didn’t.

Answer: Actually, McCain did NOT publish his birth certificate. If you do a search and find a birth certificate for McCain online, you will find a forged birth certificate that was created by McCain's enemies and introduced by his opponents in the Hollister v McCain case. McCain said that he was born in the family hospital on the naval base. The forged birth certificate says that he was born in Colon Hospital, which is in Panama and not on the naval base.

Answer: BOTH parties provided different certifications to different states, as they always have.

Answer: Here is what the Wall Street Journal said about the $1M figure:
“Why has Obama spent X dollars defending himself against lawsuits when he could just produce the original birth certificate and make the whole thing go away?” X varies, just in our emails of the past 24 hours, from “thousands” to “almost a million”; one reader set the amount at “$950,000.” As far as we know, all these estimates have a common source: thin air."
And, Obama cannot release the long-form birth certificate because Hawaii did not send it to him, and he does not have it. Hawaii has not sent out the original long-form birth certificate since the short-form became the official birth certificate in 2001.
The new governor of Hawaii, a Democrat, has recently said that he will try to release the original (which may require changing the law in Hawaii and at the very least require changing regulations), and guess what? Already there are birthers saying that they would not believe the long-form birth certificate if it is released.
Remember that the facts on the official birth certificate come from the original. That is how birth certificates work. A clerk copies the facts from the document in the files and enters them in the computer form, which generates the new birth certificate. A total of four officials in Hawaii (the clerk, the two officials who confirmed and the governor) would have to be lying for the facts on the original to be different from the facts on the official certificate.
