"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

FL Governor's Race: Bud Chiles (D) Drops Out -- Statement by Rick Scott on the Two-Person Race

The liberal, progressive, 'Obamacrat' Alex Sink actually thinks this is going to be a good thing for her campaign? If she truly believes that, I have swampland in AZ for sale. Maybe she should have taken a look at the breakdown of Chiles supporters on how they voted in 2008 and their lack of support for Obama.

We witnessed last week Sink running away from an Obama fundraiser in Miami for her and the Democrats but she cannot hide who she is. She has been a faithful Obama supporter agreeing with his liberal progressive agenda. That is the real Alex Sink not the one voters are going to see running to the middle to try and fool the voter. That worked in 2006 and 2008 when the Democrat strategy was to call candidates conservative and moderate, who were actually liberal. Those liberals, some of who joined the Blue Dogs, have been outed as fully supporting the Obama liberal agenda. Voters will not drink that koolaid again in 2010.

Since Chiles didn't run against the Democrat establishment candidate Sink in the primary, there is no way he was going to stay in the race. Can you say Reagan Democrats many who became Republicans were a lot of his supporters from the internals of the poll? No way they will ever cast a vote for the liberal Alex Sink. Now those Chiles supporters have conservative Rick Scott who is a Tallahassee outsider and a successful businessman who they will support.

Looks like the Democrat Governor's Association is working overtime with now getting Chiles out of the race after that letter they sent to Republican Governor's Association Chair Haley Barbour trying to stop his endorsement and the Unity of the Florida Republicans. Just like their leader Obama, they failed! What getting Chiles out of the race and the letter to Barbour by the Dems says is that they don't think Sink can win on her own so they are being the bully which is not going to work.

Rick Scott Statement On State Of The Governor’s Race

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Rick Scott released the following statement today on the news that Bud Chiles will leave the governor’s race.

”We have always planned on a two person race for governor,” said Scott. “This will be a contest which presents a clear choice between a conservative outsider with business experience and a specific plan to create 700,000 jobs and another liberal Obamacrat who wants to raise taxes, cut Medicare, and supports Obama’s failed stimulus. Anyone who doubted that Chiles would eventually drop out underestimates how desperately Obama liberals like Alex Sink want to do to FL what they have done to America.”

Background

“Those planning to vote for Chiles on our poll last week:

-Voted for John McCain by a 62/33 margin in 2008
-Disapprove of Barack Obama by a 69/31 margin
-Were 47% Republican, 30% Democratic, and 23% independent
Contrary to conventional wisdom the Chiles voters were Republican and conservative leaning folks quite unhappy with the Democrats. So you might expect his dropping out to actually benefit Rick Scott.” (Jensen, Tom, “Chiles’ Impact,” Public Policy Polling, 8/31/10)
