"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Pence Addresses Threats, Vandalism and "Smears of Law-abiding Americans Exercising Their First Amendment Rights

Transcript:

The American people have every right to oppose this government takeover of health care without being lumped in with bigots and vandals by liberals in Congress and in the mainstream press.”

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, delivered the following remarks today on the House floor:

“The American people don't want a government takeover of health care. The policy, the backroom deals and the arrogance have angered millions.

“But that is no excuse for bigotry, threats or acts of vandalism and I condemn such things in the strongest possible terms. People who engage in such acts undermine our cause and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

“But I also rise to condemn the efforts to smear millions of law abiding Americans who oppose ObamaCare by associating them and their principled opposition with these criminal acts.

“The American people have every right to oppose this government takeover of health care without being lumped in with bigots and vandals by liberals in Congress and in the mainstream press.

“I say to my countrymen:

“End the threats.

“End the vandalism.

“And let’s also end the smears of law-abiding citizens exercising their first amendment right to speech and peaceable assembly.”

We agree 100% with the remarks of Cong Mike Pence. We will take it one step further and allege that some of the vandalism was caused by their own union thugs threw a brick smashing a window smacks of union tactics. Republicans are not known to vandalize but the union thugs have a long history of being called out on a moment's notice to trash their own party members and then declare it was Republicans who did the vandalizing.

We agree that the people doing the vandalizing should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Might prove to be very interesting to learn who these people are.

The media ran with the story from Lewis (D-GA) that they (blacks) were called racist names when walking through the Tea Party protesters. One slight problem is that every tape that has surfaced reveals no such thing happened. These Socialist Democrats in Congress and the White House will lie, cheat, and steal to get their way and trash Republicans at the same time while many members of the mainstream leftists media are right there with them.

Just like Russ Carnahan of MO said protesters left a casket on his front lawn when the 'casket' in question was used by pro-life protesters to demonstrate against his vote on Obamacare. No casket was left but that didn't stop him from telling the media a lie, and the media ran with the story without checking to see if there was any basis in fact.

How many more fantasy stories are we going to see from the Socialist Democrats trashing Republicans?

Does this mean that dissent is not welcome in America by the Socialist Democrats, and we are supposed to walk lockstep with their socialist agenda? If that is the case Obama and his fellow socialist are in for a rude awakening. Protests will continue to grow against the Democrats who refuse to listen to their Constituents. How many Democrats will refuse to hold Town Halls during recess from Congress?

If Republicans are asking for votes, then the first thing they need to do is listen to the concerns of the voters of their District/State. First time Republican candidates in addition to incumbent Republicans running for the House or Senate need to hold Town Halls to listen to the voters and answer the tough questions. It will go a long way in Taking Back the House and Senate -- 1st order of the campaign -- be responsive to the voters.
