"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

FINALLY the long lost video of Romney in the 2002 campaign talking about how he had ties to the members of Congress who could get federal funds for MA.  IOTW our tax dollars from places like Oklahoma where light rail money and other road and bridge money ended up in Utah for the Olympics thanks to some underhanded dealings between fellow Mormons.  That came out in the 2006 Oklahoma Governor's race.  The Romney camp also said most of the Federal dollars went to security.  How convenient because when he was running in 2002 he was touting how much money he was able to security from the Federal Government for the Olympics.  A little revisionist history at play in 2012 or lying -- take your pick.

Now ABC has Romney in his own words on the missing video.  The Boston Globe had the print version but now the video has surfaced showing the hypocrisy of Mitt Romney with his attacks on fellow Republicans.  Romney has to be the head of the group "Do as I say, not as I do!"  Watch for yourself and tell me why he should not be considered an insider in DC with all his connections?

This video was shot by a Democrat which brings into question why are the Democrats releasing this early on Romney?  Do they think this will make Republicans vote for him since he is being attacked?  Just the opposite for a lot of us who are happy to see someone take him on with facts like this.  The burning question is what the Obama camp has in store for Romney in the general.  Cannot fathom how nasty that campaign would be.

EXCLUSIVE: In ’02 Romney Touted D.C. Connections, Federal FundsJonathan Karl
In a long-forgotten tape from the 2002 Massachusetts governor’s race obtained by ABC News, Mitt Romney is seen touting his Washington connections and his ability to get millions of taxpayer dollars from the federal government.
“I am big believer in getting money where the money is,” Romney says on the video, “The money is in Washington.”
The video, which was surreptitiously shot by Democratic opponents of Romney on Oct. 16, 2002, shows him addressing a group called the New Bedford Industrial Foundation. The Power Point presentation he uses lists ways to improve economic development in Massachusetts, including “boost federal involvement.”
“I want to go after every grant, every project, every department in Washington to assure that we are taking advantage of economic development opportunities,” Romney tells the group.
And while Romney now often criticizes his opponents for being Washington insiders, in this video he touts his Washington connections.
“I have learned from my Olympic experience that if you have people who really understand how Washington works and have personal associations there you can get money to help build economic development opportunities,” Romney says.
Romney has frequently criticized Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum for their roles in getting federal money — so-called earmarks — to fund special projects in their states while they were in Congress. The Romney campaign, however, says this is different.
“Every state budget in the country is dependent on federal funding, and every governor in the country makes requests for funding, but governors do not get to decide how Congress appropriates money,” said Romney spokesman Andrea Saul. “Governor Romney supports a permanent ban on earmarks, which are symbols of what’s wrong with Washington.”
As for his experience running the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, Romney says, “”the whole winter games was a combination of the federal, state and local governments along with private enterprise.”
“We actually received over $410 million from the federal government for the Olympic games. That is a huge increase over anything ever done before and we did that by going after every agency of government,” he says.
He even cites money one his colleagues managed to get for the Olympics from the Department of Education.

When it comes to Romney, everything is always different for him just like you are not supposed to criticize him as he is perfect and has no gaffe moments that he could think of during the debate that he would like to change.  Maybe it is because his nature is to flip flop to suit the moment and he doesn't see a problem in pandering.  Conservatives are to sit down, shut up, and get on board for Romney to take on Obama as that is his destiny according to his supporters.  If you swallow that crap, you are not a conservative and don't think for yourself.  We are supposed to be independent minded and not take what a politician or his supporters say at face value unless it came be proved.

Noticed over time that Romney supporters have a tendency to throw something out there to see if it will stick with zero sources to back them up.  What kind of talking points are the Romney camp sending out without sourced info.  Try to engage a Romney supporter and they will come back with the same pabulum they have been spouting.  It is almost eerily like as if you are talking to a robot in some instances.

Guess you could say that Romney has been BUSTED about his insider status in DC.  How is he going to spin this one -- that he has never physically worked in DC?
