"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Hoyer (D-MD): House will not do a budget this year!

As we learn from Republican Leader Boehner (R-OH), the House Democrats have no intention of passing a budget this year before the election. Do they plan to pass it between when they are kicked out of office and the Republicans take over? Since their primary duty as members of the House of Representatives is to ensure that every agency has a budget in place for the fiscal year that begins 1 October each year, they are abdicating their duty as members of the House of Representatives.

Are the Democrats afraid to see what the budget numbers would say before the election? Sure sounds like they want to do a tax hike on the middle class but don't want voters to know that is their plans. It is up to all of us to spread the word -- Democrats want a tax hike on the middle class to fund their pork and earmarks.

Memo to House Democrat leadership -- do your job and quit trying to pass anything but budget bills. Stop the lunacy of any more stimulus bills or anything else until the budget bills are in Committee ready for action, voted on in Committee, heard on the floor of the House, and voted upon. Since there are no budget bills and Democrats according to Hoyer have no intention of passing any budget bills, it is time to evict Pelosi, Hoyer and the rest of the Democrat leadership and their followers in the House from the US House of Representatives on November 2nd, 2010. Democrats have abdicated their role as leaders of the House with these actions.

Congressman John Boehner (R-OH) E-BULLETIN: TUESDAY, JUNE 22, 2010

This morning in a speech in Washington, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) admitted that the House will not do a budget this year, for the first time in modern history. He also said that raising taxes on middle class families may be necessary to pay for more government spending. The American people have had enough of Washington's tax-and-spend agenda. In this difficult economy, families are making difficult decisions to get their finances in order, and they want their government to do the same. House Republicans have offered better solutions to cut spending now, and provide the fiscal discipline that economists say is needed to create jobs and make sure the American dream is alive and well for our kids and grandkids. Also in this week’s E-Bulletin you’ll find the times and locations for my weekly “Open Door” program, as well as the latest on the oil spill crisis, and the president’s new health care law. Please continue to keep me updated on the issues that concern you.

Sincerely,

John Boehner
