"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

President attended fundraiser during Gulf memorial service

This President has absolutely zero empathy for anyone unless it can benefit him personally. We cannot think of another modern day President who wouldn't have gone to this service after such a massive explosion in the Gulf that killed 11 men. That explosion has resulted in huge amounts of oil leaking into the Gulf which has been a catastrophe for the Louisiana coast and now approaching other Gulf States. This leak of oil has gone on for days while the President fiddles and tries to figure out a way he will look good after doing nothing for weeks.

Did Obama have something pressing as President which would have caused him to miss this Service? No, it was just his normal fundraising this time for Barbara Boxer (D-CA) this time. During this crises he has continued to fund raise, go on vacations, and hold lavish parties at the White House, but yet expects all of us to think he is serious about the leaking oil gusher?

Obama is acting like a millionaire playboy as he jets around the world on our tax dollars and throws lavish parties for his Hollywood buddies who wouldn't give him the time of day if he wasn't President and throwing grand parties.

From CNN's Abby Livingston

(CNN) - According his official schedule, President Obama did not attend the May 25 memorial service in Jackson, Mississippi for the workers who died in the Deepwater Horizon explosion because he was en route to a fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-California, in San Francisco.

At Thursday's White House briefing, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked why Obama did not attend the service. The president's spokesman answered, "I'd have to look at the schedule. I don't know the answer."

CNN examined the president's schedule for that day, and according to it, the president left the White House at 2:55 p.m. EST en route to Andrews Air Force Base for the cross-country flight to the San Francisco fundraiser.

A Jackson source in possession of the memorial service program told CNN that the service began at 2:00 pm EST and lasted "more than an hour and a half" - putting the president in transit to the fundraiser during the second half of the memorial service.
