"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Blue Dog Votes on Stimulus, Cap and Trade, and Healthcare -- Targets for 2010!

After analyzing the votes of the Blue Dogs this morning who claim to be fiscal conservatives, it has become more obvious that this has become a scam for Democrats to use to take back to their districts. Only four out of 53 actually voted against these three main bills, but in the end they all voted for the Progressive Nancy Pelosi. How much did Pelosi offer to get 28 Blue Dogs to vote with her on Pelosicare. Our guess is not too much for some of the Blue Dogs who are some of the more liberal members of Congress. One has a 4% conservative voting record and yet is listed as a Blue Dog.

In the last election we kept hearing that Rahm Emanual was having liberals pretend to be conservative to win seats from Republicans. After putting this list together this morning, I can agree that is exactly what happened. The Pelosi Democrats scammed the voters. Most of the Blue Dogs should be part of the progressives not the Blue Dogs.

Blue Dog Votes on Stimulus, Cap and Trade, and Healthcare -- Targets for 2010!
Blue Dog Democrat Listing with Votes
8 Nov 2009

The Blue Dog Democrats have 53 members who are deemed to be considered Fiscal Conservatives, but the analysis of their three votes on the Stimulus, Cap and Trade, and Healthcare tell a different story for the vast majority.

There are two members of the Black Caucus who are Blue Dogs: Rep Sanford Bishop (GS-02) and Rep David Scott (GA-13) both of who voted for all three bills.
With so many people on here attacking Republicans for not doing more, decided to look into the numbers. Since the loss of a Republican seat on Tuesday to a Dem in NY-23, the breakout is: 177 Republicans and 256 Democrats with 218 needed to pass bills in the House.

Used the following links for Roll Call votes:

Stimulus Package, Roll Call 46
Cap and Trade, Roll Call 477
Healthcare, Roll Call 887

First I looked at Republicans to see how many voted "YES" on theses three bills:

Stimulus - 0

Cap and Trade - 8 (Bono-Mack (CA-45); Castle (DE - at large; Kirk (IL-10); Lance (NJ-7); LoBiondo, (NJ-2); McHugh (NY-23) resigned; Richart (WA-8), and Smith (NJ-4th)

Healthcare: 1 - CAO (LA-02) Very liberal district of the former Rep Jefferson.

There has been a lot of talk about how fiscal conservative the 53 members of Blue Dog Caucus are but their votes don't show that fact. Blue Dog "YES" votes on the three major bills:

Stimulus: 43

Cap and Trade: 22

Healthcare: 28

Blue Dogs voting NO on all three bills: Rep Bobby Bright (AL-02; Parker Griffith (AL-05); Walt Minnich (ID-01), and Gene Taylor (MS-04). Even though they voted NO on the three major bills, they did all vote for Pelosi for Speaker. That said, these four should be talked to about switching to Republican.
