"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Transparency on Healthcare Promised by Obama -- More Lies!

As we return from the Christmas holiday and spending New Year's in El Paso, we are hit right square in the face by the hypocricy of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi on making sure that all American citizens know what is in the healthcare bill by showing all negotiations on C-SPAN.

C-SPAN requested that they be allowed to televise the hearings of the Committee. The response from the Democrats is crickets chirping. Since Democrats look to be reconciling the bill behind closed doors and not through a conference committee, C-SPAN will be left out in the cold by the Democrats which means the American people will not have a look at the bill until it is ready to be voted on by both Houses which means maybe a couple of hours. For
Pelosi to respond to C-SPAN with "There has never been a more open process"
has to be a bad joke. Republicans and their ideas are totally left out of the process, but Pelosi considers it open? The hypocricy of these people will never cease to amaze.

Then we have these eight (8) clips from Breitbart showing Obama promising televised healthcare negotions: Obama Eight (8) Broken Promises. Looks to most Americans that the Senate and House leadership could care less what the President of their own Party had to say about transparency but then where is Obama demanding the Congress have transparency on health. Instead Obama is telling the Congress not to have a Conference Committee and push this legislation through as rapidly as possible.

Democratic leaders could bypass a formal conference between the House and the Senate, shutting out Republicans and avoiding potential partisan procedural roadblocks, to work behind closed doors in concert with the White House to strike a compromise.

"Millions of Americans are looking forward to new tax credits to help them afford the healthcare coverage and new rules putting patients ahead of insurance companies," said Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, who played a major role in writing the Senate version of the bill.

"That's exactly what health reform will do and we are eager to get our reform bill to the president's desk as quickly as possible," Baucus added.

Now why would the Democrats push this Obamacare bill through behind closed doors without using a Conference Committee when they know the majority of American people are against the bill? We need to look no further then Byron York from the Washington Examiner for the answer:
Why Democrats push health care, even it it kills them

(snip)

I put the question to a Democratic strategist who asked to remain anonymous. Yes, Democrats certainly understand that voters don't like the current bills, he told me, and they are fully aware they will probably pay a price next year. But they have found a way to view going ahead anyway as the logical thing to do, at least in their eyes.

You have to look at the issue from three different Democratic perspectives: the House of Representatives, the White House and the Senate.

"In the House, the view of [California Rep. Henry] Waxman and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi is that we've waited two generations to get health care passed, and the 20 or 40 members of Congress who are going to lose their seats as a result are transitional players at best," he said. "This is something the party has wanted since Franklin Roosevelt." In this view, losses are just the price of doing something great and historic. (The strategist also noted that it's easy for Waxman and Pelosi to say that, since they come from safely liberal districts.)

"At the White House, the picture is slightly different," he continued. "Their view is, 'We're all in on this, totally committed, and we don't have to run for re-election next year. There will never be a better time to do it than now.'"

"And in the Senate, they look at the most vulnerable Democrats -- like [Christopher] Dodd and [Majority Leader Harry] Reid -- and say those vulnerabilities will probably not change whether health care reform passes or fails. So in that view, if they pass reform, Democrats will lose the same number of seats they were going to lose before."

It is stunning that the Democrats are so arrogant so say that they know what is best for all of us that they are willing to lose seats in the 2010 election to pass this socialist Obama healthcare bill.
Even Governor Schwarzenegger has now withdrawn his support for Obamacare according to the Weekly Standard's -- Governator Withdraws His Support for Obamacare, With Flair. Leave it to the Governator to abandon Obamacare with a little drama. From his state of the state address:

Now Congress is about to pile billions more onto California with the new health care bill.

While I enthusiastically support health care reform, it is not reform to push more costs onto states that are already struggling while other states get sweetheart deals.

Health care reform, which started as noble and needed legislation, has become a trough of bribes, deals and loopholes.

You’ve heard of the bridge to nowhere. This is health care to nowhere.

California's congressional delegation should either vote against this bill that is a disaster for California or get in there and fight for the same sweetheart deal Senator Nelson of Nebraska got for the Cornhusker State. He got the corn; we got the husk.
The last sentence in the excerpt of Governor Schwarzenegger's California State of the Union summed up the deal for the other 48 states as well. Only Nebraska because of Sen Ben Nelson selling out for a bribe for a 'YES' vote has the sweetheart deal. Not only is the California Governor upset at the Nelson deal for Nebraska but now we learn Attorney Generals in other States are stepping forward in this article from CNS: States Warn Congress of Possible Lawsuit Over Nebraska’s ‘Cornhusker Kickback’ (13 and counting!).

Even Nelson's own Governor is opposing Nelson and his agreement (bribe) in order to get his 'YES' vote:
Nebraska’s Republican governor has a stern message for Ben Nelson, the senior Democratic senator from his state: We don’t want Washington to cover all the costs of the proposed expansion of Medicaid under health care legislation.

“The last few days have made Nebraskans so angry that now it’s a matter of principle,” Gov. David Heineman told POLITICO. “The federal government can keep that money.”
Most ironic of all of this is Senator Nelson saying yesterday that healthcare should have been put off until 2010. Why didn't he say that before voting 'YES' after his deal (bribe)? He could easily have voted 'NO' and given the same reasons he gave yesterday but he caved to Harry Reid and sold out the American people in the process that don't want Obamacare including his own constituents in Nebraska. Fox News has the information on Nelson's comments:

Nelson: Obama Made a 'Mistake' by Tackling Health Care ReformLast Year

FOXNews.com

Sen. Ben Nelson, the Nebraska Democrat who played a pivotal role in helping the Senate pass its version of health care reform right before Christmas, said this week that the Obama administration should have delayed taking up the issue to spend more time tackling economic problems.

Sen. Ben Nelson, the Nebraska Democrat who played a pivotal role in helping the Senate pass its version of health care reform right before Christmas, said this week that the Obama administration should have delayed taking up the issue to spend more time tackling economic problems.

"I think it was a mistake to take health care on as opposed to continuing to spend the time on the economy," Nelson told the Fremont Tribune.

"I would have preferred not to be dealing with health care in the midst of everything else, and I think working on the economy would have been a wiser move," he told the newspaper.

Ever since Nelson provided Democrats with the crucial 60th vote to advance the Senate bill toward passage last month, he has been trying to explain his actions to his constituents -- a move that underscores the challenge Nelson faces in maintaining public support in a conservative state.

The Senator (Nelson D-NE) who gave the final 60th vote to pass Obamacare must be feeling the heat back in Nebraska. We think he should be the #1 candidate target for defeat in 2012 in the Senate after he sold his vote for a bribe for Nebraska.

What all of this tells us is that the Democrats cannot face a Conference Committee or this bill will come out much different or even worse for Democrats unlikely to pass as a Conference Committee would require Republican participation. Democrats are proving with moving this Obamacare foward without a Conference Committee and behind closed doors that they are for NON-transparency and are definitely FOR SALE to the highest bidder which in this case is Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi who are offering huge amounts of our tax dollars for votes.

This is no way to run Government and the Democrat perpetrators of all of this need to see the end of the Unemployment Line following the November elections.
