"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Frank Gaffney, Jr.,: On 'bashing' Muslims -- $100 million Mosque Close to New York's 9/11 Ground Zero

We are having a hard time trying to figure out why any rationale thinking American could possibly agree that building a $100 million mosque close to Ground Zero is going to play well with Americans. There is no way this mosque should have been approved to go forward. What was Mayor Bloomberg along with New York City officials thinking?

When Newt Gingrich took on Shariah, he was immediately accused of Muslim bashing which was not the case. Any reasonable Muslim would agree that Newt was not Muslim bashing but pointing out the problems with the followers of the Shariah portion of the Islamic faith who want to destroy America and our way of life.

There is no way that the Mosque near Ground Zero should be built and any New York politician supporting the construction should be thrown out of office. Why give any credibility to people who want to kill us and were successful on 9/11?

Who is this Iman Feisal Abdul Rauf?

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf

NEW YORK – The imam behind a proposal to build a 13-story Islamic cultural center near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks refuses to condemn violent jihad groups as terrorists.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, head of the Cordoba Initiative, which seeks to construct the massive center, repeatedly refused on-air to affirm the U.S. designation of Hamas as a terrorist organization or call the Muslim Brotherhood extremists.

The Brotherhood openly seeks to spread Islam around the world, while Hamas is committed to Israel's destruction and is responsible for scores of suicide bombings, shootings and rocket attacks aimed at Jewish civilian population centers.

Rauf was speaking in a live interview with WND senior reporter Aaron Klein, who hosts a show on New York's WABC Radio.

Klein asked Rauf on his show whether the imam agrees with the State Department's designation of Hamas as a terrorist organization.

"I'm not a politician," replied Rauf. "I try to avoid the issues. The issue of terrorism is a very complex question. ... I'm a bridge builder. I define my work as a bridge builder. I do not want to be placed, nor do I accept to be placed in a position of being put in a position where I am the target of one side or another."

Klein pointed out Hamas attacks have targeted civilians and asked Rauf again whether that qualifies to define Hamas as terrorists.

Rauf stated: "The targeting of civilians is wrong. It is a sin in our religion. Whoever does it, targeting civilians is wrong. I am a supporter of the state of Israel. ... I will not allow anybody to put me in a position where I am seen by any party in the world as an adversary."

When Klein persisted in asking about Hamas, Rauf charged the radio host of "accus[ing] me of things. You are killing the messenger."

"You are trying to bring down the person who is trying to build security between our country and our faith tradition," said Rauf. "My urge to you. I have worked for the law-enforcement agencies."

Klein interrupted, stating, "And yet you refuse to tell me Hamas is a terror organization."

When you listen to the interview with this Iman, it sends chills up your spine knowing he is behind the building of the mosque. Obama is a huge supporter of the so-called "Religion of Peace" and makes no attempt to separate the radical Islamic Jihadists who want to kill us with more moderate members as he lumps them all in the same category. Refusing to use the word 'terrorist' to describe the Islamic Jihadists is not going to make a difference nor is the current Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to acknowledge Islamic terrorists exists going to make the problem go away. These people want to kill Americans and force their laws on America.

The question many Americans are asking is if Obama and his Attorney General Holder actually would favor Shariah law being implemented in the United States? We think that is a fair question after some of the comments we have seen where they refuse to acknowledge Islamic terrorists want to kill us.

Every last politician supporting the construction of this mosque near Ground Zero needs to be voted out of office and replaced with people who understand terrorism and the fact that there are terrorists sponsored organizations who want to kill us.

Newt Gingrich has highlighted what is bothering a lot of Americans about this mosque near Ground Zero.

On "bashing" Muslims

Center for Security Policy Aug 02, 2010
By Frank Gaffney, Jr.

Last week, a tectonic shift took place in the firmament of the War of Ideas. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich directly and forcefully took on Shariah, the totalitarian theo-political-military program of authoritative Islam that its adherents seek to impose on the entire world. As he noted, the United States is squarely in the cross-hairs of Shariah's devotees.

In response, the usual suspects - the multiculturally sensitive elite that reflexively excuses the Islamists joined by proponents of the latters' stealth jihad, notably elements of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) - have reflexively responded by accusing the Speaker of "bashing" Muslims. It is, of course, far easier to engage in ad hominem attacks than contend with Newt's characteristically thoughtful and informed critique. It is also expedient to try to portray a focused challenge to the beliefs and practices of a subset of the Islamic faith as an assault on all Muslims.

In fact, it is not "bashing" all Muslims if one points out that the comprehensive doctrine to which some of them adhere is a threat to our liberties, our government and our way of life. Objectively, that is the case; a global theocracy - the end-state commanded by Shariah - administering a severely repressive, even barbaric criminal code aimed at enforcing submission by Muslims and non-Muslims alike is incompatible with the U.S. Constitution.

As it happens, one man who has expressly said he seeks to "bring Shariah to America" is Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam currently promoting construction of a 13-story, $100 million mosque once dubbed "Cordoba House" in proximity to Ground Zero. Speaker Gingrich has properly and powerfully opposed that idea: In an op.ed. in Human Events last week, he wrote: "It is simply grotesque to erect a mosque at the site of the most visible and powerful symbol of the horrible consequences of radical Islamist ideology.... For radical Islamists, the mosque would become an icon of triumph, encouraging them in their challenge to our civilization."

Unfortunately, the problem is not merely the location of the mosque. Rather, it lies with those like Imam Rauf who are advancing the Muslim Brotherhood agenda that Mr. Gingrich calls "creeping Shariah" and the MB itself says is "to destroy Western civilization from within."

Rauf has myriad connections to the Muslim Brotherhood. His father was a prominent figure in the organization back in Egypt in the 1940s. After Gamal Nasser cracked down on the organization, the elder Rauf fled first to Kuwait, where Feisal was born, then made his way to Malaysia and ultimately America. Once in New York, he bought up a third of a city block on the Upper East Side and built a large, Shariah adherent mosque and Islamic Center on 96th Street. The younger Rauf serves on the board of that mosque.

Feisal Abdul Rauf also published in 2004 a book entitled What's Right About Islam is What's Right about America. It is in English, but intended for Muslim audiences. Interestingly, this book appeared under a different title in Malaysia (and in the local language, not in English). The title has been changed, in an instructive way: A Call to Prayer from the WTC Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of America Post 9/11.

Now, dawa is the essence of creeping Shariah. Dawa is all about proselytizing, recruiting and indoctrinating in the ways of Shariah and the jihad it demands. And, as the acknowledgements page of the American version indicates, "a special non-commercial edition [of the book was published] to promote a proper understanding of Islam and common ground between Islam and the West." The organizations that made that possible were two that the U.S. government has identified as Brotherhood fronts: the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the International Institute for Islamic Thought (IIIT).
