"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Unexpected: Initial requests for jobless benefits jump to 500,000 -- Obama takes 6th vacation this year!

While jobless benefits jumped to 500,000. the highest in nine months, Obama and his family are off to Martha's Vineyard for their 6th vacation of the year! That comes after the Obama fundraiser in Los Angles stopped traffic hours on the interstates and local streets wasting gas for a lot of commuters during Rush Hour and Michelle took a luxury vacation to Spain on our tax dollars this month using Air Force Two.

How many people take six (6) family vacations a year? This year how many people took even one (1) vacation that lasted a week? More like a long weekend if any. Obviously he cares more about helping the economy of a wealthy area than he does Lousiana where he wouldn't even go for his 29-hour visit to the Gulf which was actually to an inlet hotel in Panama City, Florida.

This is the man that touts all is going well with the economic recovery when it just keeps getting worse. How he has any support left if shocking. This is what you get when you have someone who has never held a real job and doesn't like to work who is elected President. He couldn't even be bothered to hold hearings for his subcommittee on Foreign Affairs when he was in the Senate but he didn't hesitate to travel on the taxpayer nickle then either.

Now he is on vacation again to an expensive area while the unemployment figures are rising once again. What about the people who have no benefits left and still no job? What are they going to do now that the Democrats are raiding the food stamp fund to pay for teacher benefits and other state handouts? Have no food stamps? Wonder how many people could be fed on what the Obama's are costing the taxpayers on using Air Force One and Two as a taxi service?
Initial requests for jobless benefits jump to 500,000. WASHINGTON (AP) -- New applications for unemployment insurance reached the half-million mark last week for the first time since November, a sign that employers are cutting jobs again as the recovery slows. The Labor Department says initial claims for jobless benefits rose by 12,000 last week to 500,000, the fourth increase in the past five weeks. Wall Street economists forecast that claims would drop. , highest level since November
In this "Summer of Recovery" touted by Obama and the Democrats, we have now witnessed the largest amount of unemployment claims in nine months. It was announced yesterday that fixed rate mortgages broke a record low. People are refinancing their current homes rather than buying new homes.  Now Pelosi has the House on a six-week paid vacation not the usual August recess.  Where is Pelosi vacationing that she needed six weeks instead of four?
Cong Pence on Weekly Unemployment Claims:
“Today’s report is another stark reminder that Washington Democrats are out of touch and have failed to get America back to work.”

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, released the following statement today in response to the Labor Department’s report of 500,000 new claims for unemployment benefits during the week that ended August 14:

“The American people continue to ask, ‘Where are the jobs?’ Today’s report is another stark reminder that Washington Democrats are out of touch and have failed to get America back to work. Clearly, they just don’t get it. Democrat policies of more bailouts, out-of-control spending and higher taxes are not working. While the Pelosi Congress continues its six-week paid vacation, nearly 15 million Americans are searching for jobs. Washington needs to give small businesses true incentives for job creation, and that can start by ending the Democrats’ threat of the largest tax increase in history.”
