"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Recommended Books for Learning More about Islam

We received this email from Human Events Book Service just a short time ago which fits in perfectly with our last two posts on Islam and the Muslims wanting to build a gigantic mosque at Ground Zero while wanting to be governed by Sharia Law not American Civil Law. You can also purchase these books at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Borders.

There is no substitute for knowledge that you get from doing research on a subject such as Islam, the religion of Muslim countries. If you want to learn more about Islam, these books will give you an insight to why so many of us are upset they are building this huge mosque near Ground Zero along with other mosque around the Country:

1. The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America
by Andrew C. McCarthy

"Read this book and you'll understand what we're up against and why we have to stop it." -- MARK R. LEVIN

As the Obama administration wavers on the pending trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his co- conspirators, a former top federal terrorism prosecutor has issued a stern warning for Americans: "The real threat to the U.S. is not terrorism, but the sophisticated force of Islamism collaborating with the American Left." In The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America, highly-decorated retired Justice Department official Andrew C. McCarthy depicts and analyzes how the global Islamist movement's jihad involves far more than just terrorist attacks and why Islamists have found an ideal partner in the American Left and President Barack Obama.

2. Stealth Jihad: How Radical Islam is Subverting America without Guns or Bombs
by Robert Spencer

There hasn't been a terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, and Al-Qaeda is on the run in Iraq -- and yet the terrorist threat is far from over. In fact, it's more severe than ever: in our country Islamic jihad groups and their allies are concentrating not solely on terror attacks (although another one of those could come any moment), but on stealthy efforts to introduce Islamic law into this country, step-by-step and bit-by-bit -- until finally America is transformed into an Islamic state. While the stealth jihadists may never attain this goal, they are already eroding our freedoms as they demand ever more accommodation of Islamic principles and practices -- and politically correct public officials are only too happy to oblige. Now, in Stealth Jihad: How Radical Islam is Subverting America without Guns or Bombs, jihad expert Robert Spencer unveils the full scope of the stealth jihad plan, and explains how the stealth jihadists are operating and the victories they've already achieved.

3. The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran
by Robert Spencer

If we don't know the Koran, we can't defeat the jihadists: Osama bin Laden, the masterminds of 9/11 and those who have perpetrated the over 13,000 jihad attacks worldwide since 9/11 repeatedly point to it as their inspiration and authority, explaining that they're committing acts of terrorism and hate because of it. Yet the Koran is not an easy read -- it has been called "wrist-slittingly boring," as well as confusing, contradictory, and muddled. But Robert Spencer reads the Koran so that you don't have to! Now, in The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran, Spencer, the bestselling author and Islam expert, shows exactly what's in the Koran, and why every military and intelligence official -- and every American -- should be concerned about this revered and reviled holy book. This witty and breezily written guide to the Koran explains who those who have vowed to destroy us think they are, what they think they're doing, and what they hope to accomplish.

4. The Politically Incorrect Guide™ to Islam (and the Crusades)
by Robert Spencer

Exclusive hardcover edition -- not available in stores! (soft cover version is still available)

When PC propagandists assure us that jihadist terror doesn't reflect "true," "peaceful" Islam, they're not only wrong, they're dangerous -- because they lull America and the West into letting their guard down against their mortal enemy. And not only do self-appointed "experts" lie elaborately and persistently about Islam -- they have also replaced the truth about Christian Europe and the Crusades with an all-pervasive historical fantasy that is designed to make you ashamed of your own culture and heritage -- and thus less determined to defend it. But now there's a remedy: in The Politically Incorrect Guide™ to Islam (and the Crusades), Robert Spencer reveals all the disturbing facts about Islam and its murderous hostility to the West that other books ignore, soft-pedal -- or simply lie about.

5. Nomad: From Islam to America:
A Personal Journey Through the Clash of Civilizations by Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Ayaan Hirsi Ali first captured the world's attention with Infidel, her bestselling memoir of her childhood in Africa and Saudi Arabia, and of her escape to Holland en route to a forced marriage in Canada. Now, in Nomad, Hirsi Ali tells the story of her subsequent search for a new life in America as she tries to reconcile her Islamic past with her passionate adherence to democracy and Western values. But Nomad is a memoir with a mission: to inform the West of the extent of the threat from Islam, both from outside and from within our open societies.

6. The Life and Religion of Mohammed
by J.L. Menezes

Fr. J.L. Menezes knew Islam up close: as a priest in India, he devoted his priestly life to introducing that nation's tens of millions of Muslims to Christianity. With this life of Mohammed, he left us the record of his appeals: a frank, honest, and exhaustively researched exploration of the life of the "prophet" of Islam, the development and contents of the Koran, and an introduction to various Muslim sects. Working from the earliest Islamic sources, Fr. Menezes provides a complete account of Mohammed's life, from his days as a simple merchant to his triumphs as a leader of armies and revered prophet. Menezes delved so deeply into his subject that he was even able to describe Mohammed's physical appearance. He explains why Mohammed couldn't possibly be a true prophet, and reveals the true sources of his "revelations." Fr. Menezes could be writing about today's Muslim terrorists when he explains that "Mohammed posed as the apostle of God, the seal of the prophets; as the destroyer of idolatry; as preacher of one true God, and the reformer of morals: while his life is marked by innumerable marriages; and great licentiousness, deeds of rapine, warfare, conquests, unmerciful butcheries, all the time invoking God's holy name to sanction his evil deeds, ordering prayers and alms deeds and at the same time propagating Islam everywhere by fire and sword."
