"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

700+ Days without a Democrat Budget and Counting

If the democrates are so fiscally responsible why has it been 700+ days without a budget and none in sight -- only promises there will be one?   Without a debt limit, how far in the red would the Democrats take the Government with spending on their favorite programs and throwing money around overseas?  With the debt ceiling in place, they are still overspending as Obama keeps promising money to foreign governments and every pet project he can come up with to buy votes.  Those are our tax dollars he is giving away to try and win friendships which is NOT working with foreign governments.   They respect leaders with a backbone not someone who plays up to them and is a wimp.

With his big birthday bash on August 4th in Chicago looming the night after the United States is set to default, will he really veto the House Cut, Cap And Balance Plan as he threatened a short time ago?  The bill could lead to a debt ceiling compromise which may be the last thing Obama wants as he seeks to blame it all on Republicans.  The big question is if he is serious about a veto or is he posturing.  With the threat, it must mean that some Democrat Senators have agreed to support the plan.  Has Obama even bothered to read the bill before he says he will veto it? My guess is no as he continues to posture that only he has the right answers when that could not be farther from the truth not to mention that he believes everyone has to compromise with him.

Who is correct about the debt ceiling and the dire consequences that could happen?  Economists are all over the place along with politicians looking for face time.  How does anyone really know with everything being written what is the truth.  It would be easier to throw a dart and come up with the answer.  Reminded of the dire predictions for Y2K and this 'sky is falling' mentality is getting old.  If Obama would get off the dime and truly negotiate instead of walking out when something doesn't go his way, we might have an agreement before midnight on August 3rd and not have to find out if the dire predictions are true.

Both sides have two weeks to come up with an agreement -- time for Obama to get serious instead of trying to score daily political points in the media.  Maybe this would already be solved if he hadn't spent so much time out fundraising over the last few months and actually concentrated on doing his job.  Has Obama ever stopped campaigning to run the Country?
