"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Keith Koffler: GOP Debt Ceiling Ace in the Hole: Obama’s Birthday Bash

This is from a website that didn't know existed until I was sent the link to White House Dossier which is run by veteran White House reporter Keith Koffler.  We love his explanation for his blog:
White House Dossier is the only 24/7, independent, and totally unauthorized White House blog.
This blog is going to be a regular now on my morning rounds.  This article about Obama's birthday bash in Chicago on August 4th makes my day.  Anyone who thinks that Obama is going to veto any short term deal needs to think again.  No way is going to veto a short term debt ceiling which would ground AF One and other planes for his use.  Defaulting would bring the Government to a halt including his use of military resources to fly to fundraisers by Obama.  We have said all along he cares more about fundraisers than he does the Country.  He loves running for office but hates governing is another way to put it.

He threatens not to pay senior citizens on the 3rd of August knowing full well he has this extravaganza scheduled for his birthday in Chicago on the 4th of August.  How many news outlets have reported this outside of Chicago?  Obama has been outed and the news of his big birthday bash needs spread to every senior citizen you know to show he cares more about his birthday bash then he does making sure they are paid their monthly check.  Where is the leadership of AARP?  Want to bet their leader will be at the Obama birthday bash?
GOP Debt Ceiling Ace in the Hole: Obama’s Birthday Bash

Oh boy, this is going to look bad.
The Republicans may not realize it, but they have an extra point of leverage in the debt ceiling talks: Barack Obama’s birthday.
It’s on Aug. 4. The president is turning 50. He’s decided to have a quiet celebration with family and a few close friends.
NOT.
Instead, the president is planning an extravagant fundraising bash Aug. 3 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, including a birthday concert teeming with celebrities and – for couples contributing $35,800 – a private dinner with the president. All this just one day after the government is scheduled to run out of cash!
Undoubtably, the sight of so much money getting thrown around and dissolute stars crooning to Obama will make a stirring contrast with a federal government bankruptcy featuring unpaid government workers, seniors and soldiers wondering how they’ll afford the groceries, shuttered national parks, and angry investors trying to cash out their Treasury Bills.
If the government defaults, you can be sure the birthday bacchanal will do much more to harm Obama’s reelection prospects than help them. Maybe House GOP Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who has been refusing to back down while needling Obama to the extent that the president stomped out of a White House meeting yesterday, already knows this.
The excitement kicks off at 4 pm with a concert that may feature singer Jennifer Hudson and other A-List stars, according to the Chicago Sun-Times
