"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Republican Candidate George Faught running for Congress in the 2nd District of Oklahoma

Congressman Boren has announced his retirement as the Oklahoma 2nd district Congressman.  Rumors are rampant that he will be stepping down early so we are happy to see George Faught is already out campaigning.  If Boren retires early, we could have a special election in Oklahoma to fill the seat. We will bet money that no Democrat would ever come close to voting like Dan Boren has over the years.  He has crossed the aisle to vote with Republicans on major bills over time most recently on the balanced budget bill the House voted on last week. When he doesn't, he has heard from his district on more than one occasion.  Don't think Pelosi will be sad to see him retire.

Been working in politics for many years and one of the nicest experiences I ever had was in 2008 when I represented Rudy at a debate in Muskogee during the primary hosted by the Faught's son, Jamison.  This was my first opportunity to meet the Faught Family.  Even though they were big time Huckabee supporters, I felt very welcome by their son and his parents George and Becky Faught.  I will always be touched by the fact she was concerned about my driving back to Norman alone on I-40.  Later at our Convention in 2009 Becky and I caught up as the Convention debate went on and on. Our Cleveland County delegation didn't have enough seats so we were sharing seats with the people from Muskogee.

What I find so refreshing about this email is that that George Faught is bringing everyone up to date on what he is doing, asking for volunteers, and inviting people to his kick-off celebration for Congress.  I have been receiving emails from all over the Country from candidates I never heard of and in the first or second paragraph is a request for a donation.  Some of them I am not even sure what seat they are seeking.  The Faught request for donations was to click on a separate button.  Like I said -- refreshing!

When George Faught wins, we will have a Republican delegation to match the all Red of Oklahoma.  On a side note Muskogee is also home to another Oklahoma Republican Tom Coburn who held this seat before retiring in 2000 after three terms as part of the 1994 Contract with America.  Coburn in the Senate and Faught in the House would be a great team for Oklahoma.

If you want to be part of flipping a Democrat seat to Republican, please volunteer or donate to the George Faught campaign for Congress.

A Note From George

Dear Supporters,

I’ve had a great week on the campaign trail, talking to people all over the 2nd Congressional District, visiting a third of the counties in the district, and speaking at many events. Our campaign’s hard work is gaining national attention, with the Congressional Quarterly Roll Call calling me “the likely nominee” in one of their ‘daily briefing’ emails earlier this week.
Becky and I are so thankful to each of you for your prayers, support, and for stepping forward this early to build an army of volunteers ready to cover this district from Miami to Little Dixie. Thank you for talking with your friends and neighbors. Please continue to sign up on our website at GeorgeFaught.com to get involved and help us spread our message of conservative values, fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally limited government, and the rule of law.

Please forward this newsletter on to your friends and family, so they can be a part of the grassroots campaign to elect a conservative Republican to Congress for the 2nd District. We look forward to seeing you all in our hometown of Muskogee this Saturday as we host our campaign kickoff celebration!

Committed to serve,
