"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Governor Perry discusses 2012!

This is posted for those of you who have any doubts:

We keep hearing it is too late to get in the Iowa Straw Poll but as someone who has run straw polls, it is laughable. Straw Polls are money makers for the people running them -- it is which candidate can fund the most votes. Don't know if they were always like that but it is about getting your people out.   They auction off space to candidates and then candidates buy ballots for their people and some bus in people to cast their ballot.

Like the CPAC Straw Poll where Romney buses in people -- in the long term it doesn't matter. Not to mention Iowa doesn't reflect what a lot of us believe who are against ethanol subsidies which has raised the price of feed which in turns has raised the price of food. We have had a hard time understanding why the Iowa Straw Poll is so important when you know how it is run and also why the Iowa Caucus is first in the Nation.

If I had my way there would be no primary campaigning or debates until after Labor Day and ALL of the primaries/caucus would move back to after April 1st so there would be less time between the primary and the Conventions. Having anything is January is ludicrous and causes perpetual campaigning which most people are tired of and ignore in the summer before the primary season gets in full swing next year.
