"A wise and frugal government which shall restrain men
from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."

Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on New Justice Department Rules

Republicans vote to block funding for new gun-sale requirements

By Jordy Yager - 07/13/11 02:00 PM ET
House Republicans on Wednesday voted to strip funding for a new Obama administration policy that increases reporting requirements for some gun dealers who sell semi-automatic rifles.
The rule from the Department of Justice (DOJ) requires dealers to report within five days multiple sales to the same person of semi-automatic rifles with removable magazines.

There is not much you can add to this statement as once again the Obama Administration has targeted the Border States.  This time it is for legal gun sales.  Guess they only like to help the cartels and keep guns from American citizens.  Obama and his Administration sold guns to the cartels that they want to ban.  There are times you shake your head and wonder what the end game of Obama really is.

Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on New Justice Department Rules

Wednesday, July 13, 2011Austin, TexasPress Release

Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding the new U.S. Department of Justice reporting requirements for multiple purchases of semiautomatic rifles within the four U.S. states bordering Mexico:
"Singling out border states and targeting legal gun sales and sellers will have little or no impact on the Mexican cartels transporting drugs, guns and cash to and from major cities throughout the U.S. These cartels - which are responsible for more than 40,000 deaths since 2006, including Americans like Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry - have various ways of obtaining weapons that don't include lawful purchases from legitimate gun sellers.
"Instead of arbitrarily implementing this misguided and constitutionally questionable policy, the Obama administration should target actual criminals rather than law-abiding citizens and immediately secure our southern border against the northbound and southbound illegal smuggling of drugs, humans, cash, guns, fugitives and stolen vehicles."
