Within seconds a 30-lb fluffy brown dog came leaping on my lap at the computer which was not an easy feat.
Then wondered if it was bomb disposal like the chemicals they set off about five miles from here after the 'lone' suicide bomber at OU wanted to blow the stadium up and blew himself up. For anyone who doesn't know the 'lone' suicide bomber is sarcasm here in Oklahoma. Three weeks after he was blown up, the Feds said they discovered a suicide note on his computer. Right! That's why it took so many trips to the bomb disposal site for fear it would blow up a city block. We never did get the real story including about the chemicals in his older car with powerful shocks. Religion of Peace supporter who spent time in Pakistan and had a Pakistani roommate is just a regular guy who wanted to off himself by blowing up the stadium. No sirens so another 'bomber' was immediately ruled out.
Having lived in California should know what an earthquake feels like right? Wrong -- never felt one in the 80's when we were in CA. We had felt one in Ohio before moving to California but not one hit our area during the time we were there. Then we get to MA and we get another earthquake. One did hit the Yucaipa Valley after we left which was much worse than what we experienced in MA. Back to OH for another stop in Materiel Command Headquarters and another earthquake.
Until this morning had not felt one since we left Ohio in August 1990. No damage -- just a lot of rattling of walls and everything sitting out. Think it might be time to anchor the old grandfather clock to the wall again although this is so unusual for this area.
University of Oklahoma has had an interesting year so far -- blizzard at Christmas that acted more like a hurricane and dropped the most snow ever in Norman in one day delaying Christmas for most people, a tornado forming on the road next to the National Weather Center about three blocks west and traveling east, microburst on my side of Norman with hurricane force winds which lasted 20 minutes and snapped off power poles, and now an earthquake. A lot of activity for scientists at OU they were not expecting this year.
What a way to start a morning -- as someone suggested on the phone maybe Obama was landing in Oklahoma and caused the earthquake! Obama coming to Oklahoma is as unlikely as us feeling another quake. Hope I didn't speak too soon!

Oklahoma residents call with earthquake reports
People from throughout eastern and central Oklahoma are calling in with earthquake reports
Ken Luza, engineering geologist at the Oklahoma Geological Survey in Norman, said people felt the quake from Tulsa to Norman.
Luza said he has not heard any damage reports.
The epicenter was 6 miles east of Norman, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
"It came in loud and strong on all of our seismic stations and we are checking all of our equipment now," said Randy Keller, director at the Oklahoma Geological Survey.
Emergency responders have asked people not to call 911 unless they are injured or have serious damage to report.
Cleveland County Undersheriff Rhett Burnett said people have flooded the Cleveland County 911 center with calls.
"We're trying to keep people off 911," Burnett said.
He said there has been one report of damage, but the damage is not significant in eastern parts of the county.
He said he has not heard of any injuries.
Burnett said he does not yet know exactly where the damage was reported.
