State officials cancel access to welfare benefits on cruise ships and at all casinos| PolitiCal | Los Angeles Times

The big question that comes to mind after the LA Times has been investigating this welfare scam for months is why they would endorse Jerry Brown? That is like allowing the wolf in the hen house with his strange policies and spending habits. Meg Whitman seems to be the perfect person to get state government cleaned up and put on a strict budget, but true to form the LA Times Editorial Board stays in the pockets of California and National Democrats.
Is the LA Times also going along with this underhanded attack on Meg Whitman by Gloria Allred and her former maid since they endorsed Jerry Brown? California had Brown for Governor once which was a disaster and why the nickname 'Governor Moonbeam.' We had first hand knowledge as we lived in SoCal when he was Governor. No way he should be reelected. In fact, it would be hard to think of a worse person to elect as California Governor.
We have to wonder if Brown's people are getting desperate since they have Allred on board going after Whitman. Allred has the credibility of a gnat. With lawyers weighing in across the Country, the California Bar Association should be looking at Allred's political grandstanding with lies against Whitman to consider Allred's disbarment from practicing law, but we are not holding our breath. Jerry Brown can deny any contact with Allred all he wants but you can bet the people supporting him are behind her. Why? Do they want their money train out of Sacramento to continue? Only explanation for their investment in Brown for Governor who has a horrible track record as Governor?
The following is from Greta's show on Fox and shows what Allred with her attacks on Whitman being taken to the cleaners by Greta. Some major news organizations have sided with Allred without the facts but Greta gets to the bottom of this slander against Whitman in this video:
With this phony attack by Allred, you would think the voters of California will get a clue by not electing Brown and throwing out some of the big spenders from the legislature as well on November 2nd. Arnold may be listed as a Republican but he endorsed Obama's healthcare plan which very few Republicans across America supported. Arnold has gone farther left the longer he has been in office -- what happened to the guy who ran against Grey Davis who wanted to cut spending drastically and get California back on track?
California needs a fiscal conservative who has a business background to clean up this mess which leaves only Meg Whitman standing. California will sink deeper into debt and cause more business owners to leave the state if Jerry Brown becomes Governor. He has potential of turning California into a state that welcomes illegals, unions, and greens and business owners close down in CA and opens up in Right to Work friendly states. Why would any large or small business want to to business in California where Brown will make the EPA look like wimps?
Now we discover from the LA Times that there is massive fraud in the California Welfare System with no money to investigate. We used to think the debit cards were the way to go for food stamps, but might want to rethink that after reading this article from the LA Times. Welfare payments, food stamps, and unemployment all use charge cards now. If Jerry Brown and a Democrat legislature is elected, the fraud will never be investigated as money won't be appropriated to investigate anything going on inside State Government. With Democrats it is not the people's money but 'their' money to spend at will as we have learned from Obama/Pelosi/Reid.
Difference with unemployment using the cards is that it is set up in a fund for unemployment. We know today with the high unemployment that the taxpayer is helping out but still it is from working not a handout so whatever they want to do with their money, let their conscience be their guide.
Welfare payments and food stamps are in a different category because they are taxpayer funded from the State and Federal levels. Now we learn our tax dollars are being spent in Las Vegas, Hawaii, Guam, on cruises, and who knows what else, but California is too broke to investigate. That means it is a free for all for welfare recipients to spend at will. How much fraud is in the California welfare system today? How many undocumented workers are now receiving welfare benefits because there is no investigation? What a scam on the people of California. Why can't the State limit where the cards can be used and how much can be withdrawn out of their account daily?
The cards are not good at gas stations in most states, but what about California since they need gas to get to and from Las Vegas? The State needs a list of groceries where they can use the card for food stamps and limit any cash backs from places like Walmart. Can they visit their local liquor store since nothing seems to be off limits with the California welfare cards?
California welfare cards can be used on the floor of casinos according to an earlier article of the LA Times in June. What? That means they can be used everywhere. No wonder California is going broke with the way the legislature runs the state which by the way is Democrat controlled and has been for years.
The voters of California have two choices on November 2nd -- they can vote to put State Government on the right track by cutting State Government starting with department budgets and investigating fraud under Meg Whitman or they can elect Jerry Brown and sink California further in debt and lose more business to other other states. The choice seems clear to us -- if we still lived in SoCal, we would be supporting Meg Whitman. California deserves new leadership not a retread!
$69 million in California welfare money drawn out of state
Las Vegas tops the list with $11.8 million spent at casinos or taken from ATMs, but transactions in Hawaii, Miami, Guam and elsewhere also raise questions. Officials say budget cuts hinder investigations.

More than $69 million in California welfare money, meant to help the needy pay their rent and clothe their children, has been spent or withdrawn outside the state in recent years, including millions in Las Vegas, hundreds of thousands in Hawaii and thousands on cruise ships sailing from Miami.
State-issued aid cards have been used at hotels, shops, restaurants, ATMs and other places in 49 other states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam, according to data obtained by The Times from the California Department of Social Services. Las Vegas drew $11.8 million of the cash benefits, far more than any other destination. The money was accessed from January 2007 through May 2010.
